@BrockAdams just realised what happened: I replied to the smokey message with Spam or not? I'm not sure, but smokey took the first word spam as an alias of tpu and sent feedback to MS, even though I didn't mean to. My bad, sorry bout that confusion.
@KazWolfe well, if you have found a post which hasn't been caught by smokey (i.e. was manually reported), consider adding the spam link to the blacklist
@angussidney if it works now, it's fine. I just think there's a better way of doing it, but that's just my opinion. There might very well be a good reason that they didn't do it.
well, if you keep the regex in-code because, well, regex is hard...
Yeah, it would be impossible to build a command to manage regex. Just plain text things, though (blacklisted URLs, words, priv. users) i don't see being too hard.
@Gothdo because when that was added, we didn't record chat hosts.
@KazWolfe the most routine stuff is user privilege additions, or blacklist additions. We don't get major refactorings as often, but I don't object to them as long as they're making things objectively better rather than just a thousand style changes
@ArtOfCode It worked the second time I tried. So I guess it was some temporary issue, might've been something at MS-side. Got the stack trace saved in case it needs further investigation.
@Oldskool I hope you changed the session id in there, if not, logout and log back in (hopefully that renews the session id, if not its a potential security issue)
I received an e-mail (lifted from my home page I'm linking to in SO profile) from someone proposing to interview me. Let me share it with you:
Hi Jean,
I found your contact information from StackOverflow and saw that you are an active member with a good reputation over 7000 …
I am (...
I was browsing the site, and found that this user has been on the site for only 52 days, yet has over 5,000 helpful flags.
It should not be possible to raise that many flags in such a short time given the small number of starting flags and limit to the number of daily flags. How did they do this?
