@Vickel Post 1: That does not look like a valid post URL.
22:01
@VincentThacker While the !!/report command requires permissions, the !!/scan command does not. !!/scan will cause SmokeDetector to run its detections against the post, but doesn't force the reporting of the post if none of the detections match. In addition to using a different command, you need to provide the full URL, so need the https:// in front of the partial URL which you provided in the command.
However, having looked at the question and having used Google Translate on it, it's unclear to me that it's something which should be reported to SmokeDetector. However, combined with their other visible question it might come close to being there, particularly if there are additional, similar posts. It definitely appears off-topic, although I'm not intimately familiar with topicality on Physics.
@VincentThacker Post 1: That does not look like a valid post URL.
@VincentThacker Post 1: This does not look like spam
@VincentThacker I agree with Mayken, it's just an inept question, not malicious - doesn't belong here.
@Vickel Yes, but it's just a translation which they posted after being told in comments that posts need to be in English. Overall, this, so far, seems like a confused user and/or someone who doesn't understand the rules, rather than someone who is trolling. It's possible that they are trolling, or that they will continue to post very similar content – we definitely have some users/trolls like that – but this doesn't seem to be there, yet.
22:09
@JiminyCricket. No, it's 100% AI-generated
@Makyen yes that's what I also read for post1: physics.stackexchange.com/questions/815127, BUT then there is a post2 (already closed): physics.stackexchange.com/questions/815138
It's not unreasonable to keep an eye on them, as people who have posted such things have in the past ended up as trolls, due to not accepting that the content they want to post isn't appropriate on a particular site (or anywhere on the SE Network).
Both languages
Maybe, but I've never seen a fawning AI before, not beyond imagining I'll grant you. I'd advise that further info is warranted before judgment, keep an eye on them. @VincentThacker
@Makyen Okay I see
22:13
@VincentThacker That a post is AI-generated, by itself, isn't a reason to report it to SmokeDetector. If a post is AI generated is a reason it should get TP feedback, but, like plagiarism, it isn't something which SmokeDetector is actively trying to detect (very different detections would be needed). There's a bit more detail about that in Feedback Guidance: AI-generated content (e.g., ChatGPT).
[ SmokeDetector | MS ] Bad keyword in answer, bad keyword with email in answer, bad phone number in answer, blacklisted website in answer, email in answer, +1 more (447): How fast is BitcoinJ for getting UTXOs(/UnspentTXOuts)?‭ by Zeyner Howard‭ on bitcoin.SE
@VincentThacker That doesn't mean that you shouldn't deal with it however AI-generated content should be handled on that particular site. Usually the correct thing is to raise an "in need of moderator intervention" flag and explain the issue to the moderators, who will then handle the post and user as appropriate.
@Makyen Yes I have already flagged them
So this is for more egregious kinds of spam?
@VincentThacker SmokeDetector is intended to detect spam and rude/abusive content. To a large extent, that means content on which its appropriate to raise spam or R/A flags, but there are some edge cases which also are considered TP and/or which are reportable.
@VincentThacker If you're interested, there's an Introduction to Participating in Charcoal, which provides a reasonable explanation.
22:27
@Makyen Yeah I see
On Physics the policy is to flag wholesale AI-generated posts as R/A.
@VincentThacker Interesting. I wasn't aware of that.

@VincentThacker I'm not active on Physics SE, but I see that was edited in by a diamond mod in June 2023. If you don't mind me asking, do you know if that's current (active) practice or if it's an outdated Meta post?
@cocomac As far as I know it is the current policy adopted by the mod team. I have been flagging such posts as R/A successfully. The mods remove them manually.
22:44
@VincentThacker Thanks! That is indeed interesting, as Makyen said. To clarify, do you know if they've been automatically deleted by enough R/A flags or if mods see the R/A flags and then manually delete the posts purely based on the R/A flags...?
[ SmokeDetector | MS ] Potentially bad ns for domain in answer (1): How to convert panoramas to sliding video/gif?‭ by Eugene M‭ on photo.SE
22:57
@cocomac Like I said above it's mostly been manual. However if it accumulated enough flags it gets auto deleted. This applies to posts that contain nothing else but a copy-paste from ChatGPT.
For questions, sometimes when it gets proper answers, they opt to leave it as it is (but still mark the flag helpful).
