@Yvette - If you see this: I came here sad (about Max.) I am leaving more sad, because you're leaving. I wish we had had more time to get to know each other. You're a remarkable person with a great wealth of knowledge about animals (and probably a lot of other things as well.) Wishing you the very best!

As an aside, just because there may be people here that can answer doesn't mean it's on topic. For example, we routinely shut down programming questions on the Photography site despite the fact that most of the top users are coders...

@lila Whenever I need an endorphin rush, I will look at this picture, of Izzy at rest. <3 I love the face, the ears, the paws, the flank. You've captured him well. Thank you!

With each passing car (luckily there are very few), the dog morphs into something like a giraffe - “Is it the car that brings minor 1 home? Perhaps? Meh, no.”

@JohnCavan Mmmhmm, when this site graduates, 'pet of the week' would be an awesome community building feature.

Hey, since it's getting full, here's what the CMs asked us (via Mods chat) concerning the graduation of Pets: "I'm reaching out to the Mod teams because we'd love to include some quotes. If any of you would like to share what losing the Beta label means for your community or what the Pets community has built together over the past few years I'd love to hear that."

Harry V.We have recently received the good news that Pets will be graduating from Beta next month! Based on the longevity of the site, and number of questions and answers, Stack Exchange has determined that Pets is ready to leave Beta. The graduation date is set for 16 Dec 2021. Jep. First we were patient because there was no vaccine. Then because there was not enough. Now? I am loosing my patience with a bunch of idiots affecting a whole society.

ANYTHING. Even hopes and dreams. They do die once you put them in, though.

I like the attitude of this guy. Most people treat pets like babies and specifically see pets as small creatures to infantilize. But some animals just don't want to be treated like a baby, and that's exactly where most behavior problems with barking and biting dogs come from (especially small dogs), cats that always hide away, horses that refuse to carry a rider and a lot of small pets suffering unsuited living conditions.

@C.Koca Having just watched this I can confirm with relative certainty that she is not now, nor has ever been, in one piece.

Give users the benefit of the doubt that they were trying to do what they thought was best. If there becomes a pattern then discuss it, if there is a problem cause by the actions get a mod involved to reverse it. Taking someone to task in chat is not productive

@rumtscho they yelled “Kim, komm!” Got it now?
Aug 18, 2021 16:09
But they are like children of your own, so even the worst things aren't that bad and pretty much every other thing is an "awww" thing :)
Aug 17, 2021 13:36
@Sarov Yeah, if you just read the comments OP makes it sound like they took the cat to a vet, but if you actually look for that information, it's pretty clear they just assume the cat is healthy and never actually had a vet look at her, which is incredibly frustrating.

(You can edit posts as much as you want, but if you're going to constantly and repeatedly revert my correction of the wrong word because you're convinced you KNOW that word and mine is "made up," I'm not going to hold you in high regard.)

@AllisonC I agree, I guess all chat misses her. She was the cement of the chat, ensuring continuity.

It definitely shows you how we got to that word as onomatopoeia for the sound a cat makes!
