@Wipqozn Yeah, 12 hour shifts + travel + people who come in at the last minute, means she's gone 14-15 hours on the days she works. Which is about 14 shifts a month
I heard on the radio today that Trump does really well with veterans. That shocks me because he openly mocked John McCain for being in a war that Trump had a very flimsy excuse to avoid, and that he has claimed his brief military school education gave him more experience than many soldiers (not 100% on his exact phrasing for the last part)
@twobugs That frustration is due to the various factions believing their specific cause is what the president will change, and they finally caught on that those in power don't care about anything but their support.
@twobugs His campaign exists in a totally distorted reality, which it gets away with because a large number of American voters distrust news-media... with good reason...
A problem with politics is all the idiots on the internet. It's hard to get a clear picture sometimes of why people support the other side because we're already biased against them, and with the internet, there are so many idiots (or clowns, cc @GnomeSlice) out there that it's easy to see their stupid reasons for liking a candidate and extrapolating that to every other supporter, and then think of every single one of them as an idiot.
@Sterno I think the weight of the internet is overstated. It's used mostly by the young (who don't vote), and getting any real measure of what sentiment actually is amongst all the astroturfing and botspamming is impossible.
@Sterno You'd probably be amazed at how many people essentially don't use the internet
@fredley Maybe, but you might also be surprised by how many older people do. My parents do. The adult neighbors I had growing up who are now 60+ years old do. One of them is the stupidest meme-reposting Trump supporters I've seen.
I reckon this is where the 'silent majority' bullshit comes from - people who only ever see Trump-memes on their FB feed assume that everyone loves Trump
@Sterno 'The internet' (or certain sites on it, Google, FB etc) also has a habit of generally only exposing us to viewpoints that we agree with. So when we find one that we disagree with it's a huge thing
I'm at least happy that this election cycle I don't have to be all like "Dude, we're voting for the same guy, but please just shut up. You're making everyone look bad."
Anyway, point is, with that many people having been divorced or knowing/loving someone who has been, there's no longer a "You've been divorced? YOU SUCK AT FAMILY VALUES" correlation going on
I want to get all of the DLCs, but it will be cheaper to just buy the 'legendary' Skyrim pack rather than each DLC separately.
I'm pretty far in my saved games on regular version and was wondering if they'll also be recognised on the legendary version?
This is on Xbox 360
Yes, but I'm pointing out the extreme arrogance and hypocrisy of people like Newt railing about Clinton cheating on his wife while doing the exact same thing.
Bill Clinton is just a fascinating person to begin with. He did a lot to help the poor and minorities but he also set up the financial conditions for the 2008 banking crisis
@KevinvanderVelden I don't even know that that's true. I could be an idiot and still realistically say "An idiot shouldn't be in the White House. That's a bad idea." I mean, I wish more Trump supporters would say this.
Man, I need to stop calling Trump an idiot. It's bad form.
I think the messed up thing is that while there's good evidence Clinton lied under oath the really bad part is he is definitely not the first sitting President to have done that
@KevinvanderVelden So assuming I actually thought extramarital affairs or whatever were important to being fit for president, would it then NOT be hypocritical for me to have an affair but still say "Someone who has affairs shouldn't be in the White House?" Same thing, right?
@Sterno if your argument is "affairs are bad if you are in the white house" then having affairs while not in the white house is not something I'd call being a hypocrite
I enjoy drama and light trolling a little too much. It's a bad quality for a mod. I don't think it would be hypocritical to call out a mod who does it, even though I do.
This is getting way off point because I'm not going to read 500 articles on it, but I really doubt the point was ever "Damn, man, you cheated on YOUR WIFE, and that's why we're coming for you. How dare you cheat on her! She's a classy lady! FAMILY VALUES!"
He could have been single and it still would have been an issue.
Let's go back to talking about gorillas and parenting
I have just bought GTA V from the Xbox Store and I was wondering if my brothers can play it using their accounts?
bear in mind that I bought it from my account.
Thanks in advance
Mei is a character who freezes things. It's what she does. Freezing enemy players is an effective way to immobilize them and land a perfect headshot (killing many of the lower health characters). Typically, the way an encounter works is that you'll spray them with your primary fire, and then head...
@fredley So, real talk, no "oooo it's a mystery". I'm considering running for mod, but I'm undecided. Before I run I want to make sure I'm willing to devote the time required every day to being a moderator on the site. We've had quite a few moderators who have stepped up, only to step down withn about a year due to not keeping up with their moderator duties. I don't want to be another one of those mods, so I'm asking myself "Can I see myself devoting the time required in the long term?"
Because it's easy to say "eah I'll totally devote that time", but 6 months down the road some of those mods just stop, and then it leads to other mods picking up the slack and needing to hold another election when they just can't deal withit anymore.
So I have been really working at getting better at League, and overall I am doing really well. I have been practicing last hitting, and trying to remember to keep an eye on the mini-map, and even in losing games I am still often at\near the top of the CS list.
I primarily Top lane (Garen, Mundo,...
@Wipqozn @Wipqozn The informal guideline is 30 minutes per day. This is waaaaay more than most mods on this site spend actively moderating
@Wipqozn @Wipqozn @Wipqozn If you can devote 5 minutes a day, that's usually more than enough, and given how much you're on here, I don't think it would be an issue
@fredley Just to support this - we're very supportive of taking one's own time as they need it. Healthy break time is always good. It's a volunteer position, after all.
In Project Reality BF2 there are Harriers and Opsreys and maybe more VTOL aircraft.
How do I properly do a vertical take off with these?
I tried pressing the S key to start hovering and gain some height and then pressing W to generate forward thrust but it takes very long to get the thrust up ...
Frankly, if I modded it up, my plan would be spend 10 minutes in the morning, 10 minutes in the afternoon, and 10 minutes in the evening to going through the mod queue.
@Wipqozn Don't worry about this. If the workload is becoming too much (as it has a bit recently), we just appoint some fresh meat new mods to balance the workload
Whenever I press continue or load Skyrim crashes to my desktop. It doesn't say anything it just crashes. I currently have no mods installed. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
@fredley Okay. Well, if the requirements really are 30 minutes then that's not a problem. My concern was I'd to sign up, then in 2 years be like "lolyolo later losers", and leave other mods in a bad spot. I just don't like screwing people over. I blame my parents. They obviously raised me wrong. Being all concerned about other people, and always making sure to do your fair share.
@Wipqozn Is no problem to have to step down, be it overworking, not enough time, or even stuff like just "Modding's not my thing anymore".
Every mod who does this just does the usual thing - checks with the rest of their team "Hey if I leave will there be a ginormous hole of despair", and if the answer is yes then they poke us to setup elections.
Like it's crazy to think of how much my parents have influenced me. Even in minor things. For example, when I get ice from the office ice tray if it's getting low I feel obligated to refill it. If I don't plan to refill it, I won't take ice. I get that from my father. It's a small thing, but I don't feel right taking ice if I don't put in the time to refill it if it's low.
@GraceNote Pretty sure it's the perfect word choice (also I'm joking about blame, because my parents are honestly pretty bloody awesome, and helped formed me into the pretty rad dude I am today)
