I'm scared guys

til: you can't make a wood wooder

augh why

how much wood!Unionhawk could a woodchuck!Unionhawk chuck if woodchuck!Unionhawk would chuck wood!Unionhawk

If @Unionhawk becomes a mod he should change his avatar to this picture

Ha nice

4:04 PM
Hmm, @Unionhawk needs more Link, He Come To Town in his nomination

No

@TimStone cc @AshleyNunn

HALLELUJAH

@Unionhawk -1 then, MINUS ONE

IT'S RAINING LINK

4:05 PM
I can't believe we've only had 3 nominees so far
It's been, like, 22 hours

I don't want to kill @Unionhawk's vibe

@GraceNote oh right, 5pm my time not 3pm my time

where's @TimStone's moderation comparsion webpage thing
I require @TimStone's moderation comparsion webpage thing

Really @PrivatePansy did most of the work, so it's his :P

4:08 PM
Hmm, I wonder how close I am to sportsmanship

I'd rather give all the credit to @GnomeSlice

Oh, not

user4704
@Wipqozn Major US holiday weekend though, maybe nobody saw yet

I was not aware of elections until just a few hours ago.

@Wipqozn shush, I want to be a mod

4:10 PM
@Yuuki Oh my

Even though you pinged me on running for mod yesterday or something, I didn't think about elections coming up.

As moderator, I will close all questions, ensuring bad answers are not possible (or answers at all)

The moral of the story is

Nov 17 '15 at 0:11, by Yuuki
Grabthak's First Axiom: User cannot be offensive or spammy if user does not exist.
Nov 17 '15 at 0:11, by Yuuki
Grabthak's Second Axiom: Question cannot be off-topic if no such thing as questions.

Oh, I remember that gag now.
Vote Grabthak.

4:14 PM
for some reason all my cookies decided to delete themselves

@TimStone Won't load at work because of stupid corporate firewall.

I need to relog everywhere

(Not blaming you, blaming IT)

@badp election chat has the raw SEDE query for that app

@TimStone lol, I confused Ppansy's RL (and old) name with Jin Yang.

4:17 PM
@GodEmperorDune Stack Exchange Data Exchange?

@badp something like that
in Arqade 2016 Election Discussion, 5 hours ago, by angussidney
By the way, if anyone was running in the election only to see their mod score thingy, please run this query: http://data.stackexchange.com/gaming/query/298418/candidate-score
Now I can track my modrater pro much gamerscore when the election isn't

@MBraedley Really? :o
The whole domain or something else?

I am totally unqualified to be a moderator. Vote Grabthak

@TimStone the entire gaming.SE subdomain is blocked
And for some reason, chat.SO is blocked, but not chat.SE

Nice

4:23 PM
good morning bridge

(Chat/Social Networks are supposed to be blocked, as well as gaming sites.)

Apparently, I need to submit a portfolio to apply to Airbnb.

I suspect that most IRC web interfaces are blocked as well, but I haven't tested any.
@TimStone So your page loads, but won't load any of the election info.

MY score is probably bad
My mod score

I'm pretty sure *.stackexchange is allowed completely, or it doesn't filter subdomains

4:30 PM
@twobugs spoiler alert: somehow it's lower than ardaozkal's

@Unionhawk Your work filter maybe, but not mine.

your pro much core mod raterhood needs a lot of work

@badp Considering that my account is younger, that's not really surprising
@Unionhawk One of my jobs blocked the answers.stackexchange domain
So I could view the question list, just not any individual question
Or something like that

@badp wat
causus isn't +10 meta
caucus is visit election and have enough rep

you may find a comment to this effect

4:33 PM
MY mod score is 30
That's probably low

@MBraedley They blocked the API then maybe? Heh

@badp I wasn't really thinking of running anyway, but a few people have encouraged me so I'm considering it

No APIs allowed at work!

@TimStone Any requests to gaming.SE, which I assume your page makes. It loads the first item in the list, but can't go any further.

They should all be to election.SE or api.SE, I don't think there's anything directly to gaming

4:35 PM
Actually, it fails for other sites as well. Not sure what's going on then.
@TimStone The api.SE subdomain isn't blocked, but there may be specific calls that get blocked.

Haha, North Korean state media is calling Donald Trump a "wise politician"
4

so did i miss anything in my 4 day vacation?

@MBraedley Huh, interesting

A new era of relations with the DPRK begins!

@SaintWacko Eh, mine's 34, I think the big things I'm missing are copy editor, basically

4:40 PM
@Dragonrage arqade elections and 2 lost clan war.
s

@TimStone I know that the filtering doesn't only work on domains and subdomains, it can work on directories as well. For instance, reddit.com isn't blocked (for some unknown reason), yet reddit.com/r/gaming is.

Ah ha

@Unionhawk my moderator score is 35 btw

a questions for all candidates; A question confuses @badp, what do you do?
cc @Robotnik @uni @ardao

@Dragonrage Destroy the user. Next question.

4:42 PM
I can't believing logging into SEDE doesn't take you to the right return URL, whoever hasn't fixed that is the biggest jerk

@Dragonrage Close it as unclear and wait for the fallout.
@TimStone I know.

@TimStone Hmm, I'm getting CORS errors on the elections.SE site

@Dragonrage lock it so that he can't close it.

My mod score according to that query is 12. I really shouldn't run, then
@PrivatePansy For the API? :o

@TimStone is that query broken or smth?

4:43 PM
@twobugs I really hope that Donald Trump starts quoting North Korea saying he's wise

@badp I figure 34/40 is better than my GPA so
And now I'm sad

@ardaozkal Not that I'm aware of, I just have bad gaming participating apparently :P

@TimStone that's like only 5 lower than Ardaozkal

@TimStone just checked. works good

4:44 PM
O_o

lol

Are you behind some proxy that's stripping those headers or something?

@PrivatePansy AHHA NOW WE HAVE YOUR SUPER SECRET KEY THING!!

I don't know how much stock people put in moderator score. That could be a big blow against any possible candidacy
I was just encouraged by a few people to think about it so I'm mulling over my options I guess

4:45 PM
Access-Control-Allow-Credentials:false
Access-Control-Allow-Methods:GET, POST
Access-Control-Allow-Origin:*

@Wipqozn i was surprised to see you haven't nominated yourself yet

(should be what the API returns)

@badp The key is throttled on an IP address per key basis anyway

@Dragonrage You can only nominate yourself, it's more of a declaration

@Dragonrage Yes

4:46 PM
@twobugs like I told @ardaozkal it might just be too soon.
like, if you don't even have 10k tools... get 10k tools first?

@badp like I replied that it isn't.

Yeah, for pro tem you can nominate anyone, but for election it's yourself only

@badp @ardaozkal, he's just not ready

@badp if I spammed answers I'd have 10k by now.

ONLY CANADIANS WILL UNDERSTAND

4:46 PM
@badp That's perfectly reasonable. I wasn't even really considering running for the reasons you listed

@Wipqozn I watch John Oliver so I understand

and maybe @LessPop_MoreFizz, since I assume he followed the Canadian election enough to get it

TAKE THAT, TURTLE

@Unionhawk oh right

@twobugs i know, i was surprised he hadnt nominated himself, aka stated he wanted to run

4:47 PM
@badp I mean, I guess technically my mod score is ∞ since, y'know, diamond

@ardaozkal if you spammed then we would look down on you, yes.
@ardaozkal I just do not feel that you are ready in general, I am sorry.

@badp which is better? Good Q&A and actually helping people or internet points?

that's just my feeling.

@ardaozkal His point is that having 10k tools gives you a lot of experience that you'd use when you're a moderating, and shows folks that you have that experience.

@TimStone I'm getting the same (or similar) errors as @PrivatePansy

4:48 PM
@badp alright. you are free to not vote for me.

You don't need access to 10k tools to run or being a good mod, but it certainly helps to have that experience.

that query doesnt seem to return anything for me, maybe im doing it wrong?

I'm pretty sure there are 10k-specific review queues, for example

@badp deletion iirc
maybe more

@MBraedley Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

4:49 PM
Reopen as well I think

@badp It's not a queue per se as much as it is a list of posts with active delete/close votes
and also some other things

@Dragonrage your mod score is 14

@Unionhawk right.

not a queue.

4:49 PM
@Dragonrage You plug in your user ID

anyway. Even the way you're handling my feedback right now is not very encouraging
"That's just you"
"You're wrong, I'm just not spamming"

@twobugs i did. i thought. 174621
@Wipqozn thanks. i figured it would be around there

Someone emptied the coffee and didn't start a new brew. I hope they die

@KevinvanderVelden reopen is 5k iirc

@badp yeah, as a mod you're going to need to deal with a lot of criticism. Especially early on in your modship.

4:51 PM
@Dragonrage oh right

@badp you aren't returning any constructive information.
*critism

@TimStone I'll try again when I get home. The firewall does some funky stuff. For instance, I can't watch YouTube in Chrome, but can in IE.

Reopen is 3k, 5k is just tag wiki edits

@ardaozkal oh really

@Dragonrage that's your chat id, not your arqade user id

4:51 PM
I'm certainly not suggesting anything that you can fix in the span of two weeks

@KevinvanderVelden ah, that would be why it wasnt working

what I'm suggesting is that you have a long life ahead of you and this is not going to be our last election and you might just get burned out by trying to run too early
and that would be a shame

@badp 1) yes, hence I'm asking for constructive critism 2) I don't think that I'll get burned out

user15026
The things is that with elections, everyone is looking for people who do mod type stuff already, and who pretty much just need a diamond slapped on them and then they pretty much just keep on doing the same stuff they did to help care for the site but with a bit more power.

yes. it's one of those things when you are recognized for the moderationery things you already are doing, and then you get to do more of them.

Q: What are some effective strategies for defending resource bases with two beaches?

EllesedilResource bases with two beach fronts pose some interesting challenges when it comes to defending them compared to bases that have only one beach. For instance, it is much more difficult to cover both beaches with defensive towers, where that is an effective tactic on bases with a single beach. W...

user15026
So if you struggle with being able to prove that you do the things that mods do (well, insomuch as you can), that's where the concern is.

user15026
@badp with extra explosion skills.

also destruction.
lots and lots of destruction.

I think a key question you should be able to answer before considering whether or not you should run for mod is the one i posted on the election thread

@ardaozkal I think that the constructive criticism here is: get more experience with moderator responsibilities, and then run again when you have it

4:55 PM
anyway it's not like I have a button that kicks you out of the race
well
I kinda do
but I'm not pressing it just for that
so feel free to disregard

Is it the same button that kicks people out of being able to post stuff?

yes

I happily announce my non-candidacy for moderator.

@badp I think those are all points that are completely valid about me as well, so I'll think those over before I do anything

@MadMAxJr want to make that final? :}

4:58 PM
Guys, I got my wife a present. Crisis averted

@Sterno did you get her flowers?

yusss

We were all so concerned

I am in no way qualified. I would likely abuse power.

@Unionhawk I know, right? I didn't want you losing sleep over it.

4:58 PM
@MadMAxJr Sounds qualified to me

@MadMAxJr if we give you power, we'd give it with the full expectation that you would ab/use it

user15026
@Sterno hurray for no crisis

@ardaozkal Just a warning that you're going to be asked things a lot more harsh/worse/whatever than what @badp is doing right now during the election. Elections can be really brutal for the candidates. And some of it won't be constructive. It'll be stuff like "On this day you did this specific action. That seems like an abuse of power to me, and I don't think you'd make a good mod because of it".

@badp Well, within reason, of course

Minecraft questions are now only allowed every second and third tuesday of a month, if the moon is in a waning phase and retrosaur sees his shadow during a new game release.

4:59 PM
@Sterno thanks man. What did you get her?

@MadMAxJr excellent
where do I sign up?
