@Ktash I am trying to figure out what they mean by "statistical bonuses" - the game doesn't have anything to do with stats (other than being hungry/thirsty/dirty/bored, but its not like leveling stats like in Skyrim or something, its just like oh hey, feed your pet and take it for a walk and give it a bath)

Q: Are heavy damage and light damage mutually exclusive?

At first, I was putting bonus % damage against lightly wounded targets on all my gear, under the assumption that anyone who is damaged would count. I.E., if you stab me once, I'm bleeding a bit. For its worth, we are aware that the Magic proposal is going to steal, I don't know, three tenths of B&CG's content. Q: What do I do with my keychains?

I went for a walk with my dog, and found a Leather Keychain in the street. I picked it up and took it home, but I really have no idea what to do with it. My dog can't use it for anything. Is it just trash? Or does it actually have a purpose?

Honestly I'm perfectly fine to assume part of the apparent failure of facebook.SO is that it doesn't seem people working for facebook are actually looking at it.

Which would've been reasonable to assume, since facebook.SO was born out of a business agreement or whatnot.

The main reason from my observation for the BC&G subsites is that most Chess, Go, Poker ... players don't have much overlap with the other groups. It's not like programming languages where many programmers use multiple ones. This results in a marketing problem for a generic board and card game site.

The other problem is that e.g. for chess and go you need a board viewer to even begin to compete with the other sites out there.

@GraceNote I'd just say that you might want to just post your requirements for including such software clearly. It's not obvious that sites have the possibility to ask for such software, or in which cases it is possible

In the Go case it was difficult anyway, I think the most popular open source script has an incompatible license

@Fabian I want to say "Put it on Discuss", but I have a distinct feeling I'll get shouted at. However, I do want to say that I would recommend researching as much as you can on the material for what we can use.

The main thing is translating what markdown we use into the desired result. The easier you make the translation job on our devs by providing pre-made resources and usable endpoints, the easier it is for me to get these things implemented for people.

Yeah, I'd think it'd make the most sense to post something on the site's meta once it goes into beta. Or, at least that's what the Mathematica site did when they wanted a Mathematic syntax highlighter. They were able (...OK, I may have been involved :P) to put it into a userscript that they could test to make sure it worked OK, and now they're asking for it to be integrated into the site.

That case is a bit simpler since it was just leveraging Prettify, but proof of concept tends to make things easier.

There are deviations in MarkdownSharp to defined Markdown behaviour that are included, but the Stack Exchange specific functionality isn't part of the open source project, since it's applied as a pre- or post- processing step.

It's actually a bit easier to see in PageDown (the client-side Markdown parser), since there are hooks in the code that the site leverages to do things like look up question titles and stuff.
