6:00 PM
@KevinSoviero it's actually pretty cool - we're not using it internally because I only have 2 slaves (one in the datacenter, one at the office we use for stats and reporting - and the one in the datacenter goes down every night for backups so I don't want to replicate form it :-)
@Wesley You're a cat. It's to be expected. Just destroy the scratching post and the sofa until you feel better.

@MikeyB Seriously, they flatly told me my packet captures were wrong and I was wrong for seeing their box even ask for AAAA records. And they told me my firewall was tunneling and packet mangling and wouldn't hear me out or respond to my analysis. I was... angry.

@Wesley You should remain what I like to call, a cool cat

@BigHomie I need way more valium than I can afford if I'm going to be a cool cat.

Need. More. Stars.

@Wesley yeah that's just boneheadedness on their part

6:03 PM
@MikeyB "Our appliance doesn't send requests for AAAA records because we use a version of telnet from 2004" How do you even respond to that?!

It's really quite easy to get stars on here, just say something negative about a recent development, like devops, and say something positive about... No, nothing positive allowed on second thought.
6

Okay I'm getting angry again. I need to go play Fruit Ninja or something

@KevinSoviero I was referring to the star cap myself

@Wesley "It's not telnet responsible for doing the queries, it's the libc resolver." (you can't really)

@KevinSoviero Say something positive about genital torture of {developer|devop|luser|superuser} and you'll get stars.

6:05 PM
@Wesley Telnet doesn't do the DNS resolution...the OS does. And unless the OS isn't ipv6-aware (i.e, they're running Win2k or some ancient shit) it could request AAAA records

@KevinSoviero That might get you a star or two, but if you really want some epic stardom, you either have to say some widly out of context, or have a handle named @Wesley

@Wesley I like to suffocate them until they can't breathe!

@Wesley I had an issue with my machine at home getting AAAA records back for google. My router didn't support ipv6 traffic, but the modem (and the ISP) did

@NathanC yeesh new router time

I didn't know this until I connected directly to the modem wirelessly and got a routable IPv6 address...

6:06 PM
@BigHomie Man, I love playing with my junk!

@MikeyB Yeah...it was an older belkin. I'm using a meraki now (the free one) and the ISP-provided modem has wireless too

@KevinSoviero That is a piece of junk

@BigHomie It's a picture from Google...

Oh, and it should at least appear to be accidentally out of context for the most impact

6:10 PM
@NathanC rofl

So, visual studio is being stupid...I can't even paste something without getting an error..

When you must have full body protection

Native IPv6 at home! Woot Woot!

@BigHomie Is that real? If so, than I want one

And it's doing weird shit like autocompleting weird stuff into text strings
i hate visual studio -_-

6:17 PM
@KevinSoviero Spotted in Japan
Oh no! Who's there!!

@BigHomie Pepper spray defense!

@KevinSoviero lol that's possible I guess
But why would you be defending yourself against pepperspray? stalker.

@BigHomie It's not women I'm worried about:

@KevinSoviero that can't be real, that's abuse!

@BigHomie You've never been to America, have you?

6:26 PM
Come again?

I have internet again!!!

@BigHomie Learn something new every day. Today I learned that Detroit has some relationship to "faygots." Does that mean it's got a lot "faygots," or what?

@HopelessN00bGeniusofnetwork Never heard that term. Ever.
<googling and squinching>
@HopelessN00bGeniusofnetwork Are you talking about #1?? Then yeah, since it's Faygo HQ, still never heard that term though

@NathanC java.lang.nullpointerexception? :)

@HopelessN00bGeniusofnetwork We have a store called "Niggard".

6:32 PM
@KevinSoviero I just find it odd that they got that on camera and no charges were filed

@BigHomie "Just following orders, sir." #MURICA

@voretaq7 It was weird. I was typing code and VS runtimed. Then it started doing weird stuff until I restarted it

@BigHomie Since the late '80s we've been getting closer to a police state. As of 2014, It's arrived.

@MikeyB That would never fly in the states, Rev. Sharpton and his mob would be all over it.

@BigHomie As they should?

6:35 PM
@BigHomie Bill Cosby is the one who wanted "Niggardly" removed from the dictionary as I recall.

@voretaq7 I can see why. Some people don't get we're all the same. Doesn't matter what color you are, if you broke then Ramen noodles is what's for dinner.

@BigHomie Skin color doesn't matter. Hit someone with a bus and we all look the same inside.

I was doing some research and came across this SO profile...highest rep network-wide anyone? stackoverflow.com/users/22656/jon-skeet

@BigHomie I can't. There's plenty of other offensive words in the dictionary - we don't "prune" the language. That way lies Newspeak and badness

@voretaq7 Yeah, I mean that word is there, and perfectly valid, but good luck using it without having to beat down a moron who doesn't know it's different than... well, the other word it sounds like,

6:37 PM
You don't overcome the idiotic racists by banning words and discussion - that just isolates them and lets them fester.

@NathanC yeah, Jon Skeet is famous

Every time this room gets political, I learn that I'm a flaming liberal...

@BigHomie Beside, the etymology of Niggard is from 14th century France, and has nothing to do with the word (or the etymology of) the other wrord it sounds like, in fact.

@voretaq7 The term "niggardly" has an entirely different etymology to the n-word, too.

@HopelessN00bGeniusofnetwork The etymology of the word is interesting, particularly in the fact that it doesn't derive from the same root as the other "N" word

6:39 PM
@voretaq7 Not saying I agree with him, I just read the definition a few mins ago

@BigHomie There are very few things Bill Cosby and I agree on -- in fact it's pretty much just the fact that Jell-O is awesome.

@HopelessN00bGeniusofnetwork It's older than that; the word "njugg" in Swedish means the same thing and has very old Germanic roots

(frankly anyone who wears those kinds of sweaters scares me)

@HopelessN00bGeniusofnetwork haha that won't stop people from misusing it, neither will removing it from the dictionary

@KevinSoviero Well, as long as your some kind of flaming something, this is the right room for you.

6:40 PM
@voretaq7 Sorry those sweaters are dope

@BigHomie they're made of hemp? :)
Cosby Sweaters & Argyle Socks -- DO NOT WANT

@JennyD Ah, English.... we don't just get sloppy seconds on our words, we get other languages passing their sloppy seconds off to us.

@HopelessN00bGeniusofnetwork Well, to be fair, you've been invaded by my ancestors... first the Vikings, some of whom stayed, then the Normans who were originally Northmen, i.e. my ancestors...

6:42 PM
@JennyD the germans tried it more recently but failed

@DennisKaarsemaker They've fallen off in popularity recently b/c of bootlegging, but yeah, Coogis were it

Huh. I didn't think the Normans or the Vikings ever made it all the way to the Black Sea. =D

@HopelessN00bGeniusofnetwork Why does it have to be the Black Sea?
Couldn't help it.

kce
http://serverfault.com/questions/591405/peaky-cpu-usage-on-domain-controllers

Who had EventViewer as the culprit yesterday? You were close...

@DennisKaarsemaker My husband's grandfather was Norwegian; he was in the resistance and ended up fleeing to Sweden when, in his words, they "were firing too much at him".

6:44 PM
@JennyD Huh?
Sounds like something I would do/say.

@HopelessN00bGeniusofnetwork Sure they did. There were northmen mercenaries at Byzantium, for instance.
@KevinSoviero WWII - speaking of germans invading countries...

@kce Did you figure out your problem?

@JennyD my grandfather has no opportunity to flee and witnessed the germans blowing up dykes to flood large parts of the area where he lived

@DennisKaarsemaker The geography makes a huge difference... going guerilla is a lot easier in a country with mountains and forests

@JennyD yeah, we have none of that here

6:47 PM
@JennyD I live in the middle of the city and I can still see the forest from my back door.

Of course, I'm reasonably certain I had some ancestors cheering for the other side - it's statistically likely, at least, though it's not something I've been told of.

kce
@Zoredache - Which one? Hah. I think I'm getting closer.

@MichaelHampton That is lovely. I've moved a ways out side the city, I've got a smallish forest right outside the bathroom window, and a farm on the other side of the house

And now you know why half of Americans have guns.
@JennyD New Hampshire is interesting...it's mostly small towns and scattered homes in the middle of forest, and mountains to the north.

@MichaelHampton Not sure if guns will protect you from a modern professional army...

6:49 PM
@MichaelHampton I have no problem understanding guns for hunting. It's the wanting to have handguns that I really don't understand, and thus avoid discussing as I have nothing sensible to contribute.

@KevinSoviero I'm not terribly worried about the army...in most of the likely foreseeable scenarios, they'll be fighting each other first.

@MichaelHampton In that case I'd rather no one had guns... A lot easier to defend yourself from a club or knife than a bullet.

@KevinSoviero You can make up such a world in D&D, I suppose. But you can't do it here.

@MichaelHampton What's D&D?
4

@JennyD Nobody wants to "wave" handguns, as far as I know... but as for carrying them, well, you can ask Amanda Collins.

6:53 PM
@MichaelHampton Aww yiss. I think there's two guns for every Arizona resident. Tell ya' what, home invasions don't happen much here. =P

pk.
@kce is your security log getting hammered with auditing entries?

@JennyD what's bad about a country with mountains and forests?

@MichaelHampton Re-read what I wrote again, please. I said nothing about "waving".
@MichelZ Nothing at all.

@JennyD Oops, sorry, I misread it.
Not enough coffee...

@MichaelHampton You can do more damage in close quarters like that with a knife than a gun.

kce
6:55 PM
@pk. - That's what it looks like.

@MichaelHampton And this is why I don't want to talk about hand guns. Knee jerk reactions do not make for a good conversation.

pk.
did you add any devices to your network recently that do LDAP queries at a rapid pace?

@KevinSoviero Accidental Dungeons & Dragons.

@JennyD I honestly think that was more of a misread of wanting/waving
But, knee jerk reactions happy w/ anything one is passionate about unfortunately

pk.
@kce you could create a Data Collector Set on your DC with core AD event trace data. analyzing that might help you suss out what is hammering your logs. probably only need to grab a minute's worth of data.

7:08 PM
@kce just set up a new DC and delete the old one :D

kce
@MichelZ - That's probably what's going to happen next. Need some other stuff to get lined up first. AKA Licensing.

licensing?
you seriously worry about that when creating a new one and deleting and old?

kce
7:21 PM
@MichelZ - Well I'm not going to place another Server 2008 instance into the world... and being an SME I can't just build new 2012 R2 servers all willy-nilly.

@kce Ah ok.. that makes sense :)
@kce try to convince them to get SA tough...

kce
@MichelZ - We'll see. I'm new here so I'm going to have to pump my breaks on my list of "things you should consider doing" list.

@kce true that. probably more important things to worry about in such an environment

kce
@MichelZ - I'm concerned because their AD is pretty messy. I want to be confident Active Directory is healthy before I move on with my "discovery". Otherwise yeah, I would totally ignore it.

I know Max OS X isn't immediately off topic, but I so badly want to VTC when I see a question involving it.
Because you know the application is hosted on a mini.
...and yet OS X Server is supported on Minis by Apple.
And yet... I have such a hard time caring.

7:28 PM
@Wesley jizz bucket

Server or trash can? Why not both?!
@ewwhite I was thinking butt plug.

loopy loop devices.

7:31 PM
@MatthewIfe Loopy loop devices loop loopily, in loops.

@Wesley you could.... migrate it... to.... Ask Different.

@HopelessN00bGeniusofnetwork still in Bill Cosby mode?

@BigHomie I will if you will.

@Wesley Deal

@BigHomie Oh wait, Ask Different isn't on the migration path. Probably for the better.
@BigHomie And you don't have enough rep yet to VTM/VTC right?

7:33 PM
I can VTM just not VTC

@KevinSoviero Heh. On the company forms I signed, D&D stands for death and dismemberment. Not even joking. And what a way to get killed or maimed that would be - by a machine that makes salad-dressing.

@HopelessN00bGeniusofnetwork Industrial mixers are no joke. Ever browsed BestGore?
Or Faces of Reality.

@HopelessN00bGeniusofnetwork You laugh, but I've seen those machines scalp people quicker than Edward Scissorhands.

@BigHomie Don't make me link to /r/watchpeopledie

Twink mode: engaged

7:35 PM
@Holocryptic What up bigbear!

@Wesley Oh, I know, still make for semi-humorous obituary reading. "HopelessN00b of Columbus, a feared and reviled systems administrator was killed today by a salad-dressing mixer. Services will be held ..."

@Wesley Well, I'm kinda high on Percocet, so.. me?

@HopelessN00bGeniusofnetwork "He requested his body's remains to be poured over turnip greens and bean sprouts."

we're getting creepy now

@Holocryptic Same ol' Erik.
@Holocryptic Pee'd out anything interesting lately?

7:37 PM
@Wesley ...or mixed into a marinade for buffalo wings.

@Wesley Lots of blood

@MichelZ Now?!

......and I'm out of stars, 4.5 hours left 'til re'up

@Holocryptic =/ Really bad one this time?

@MichelZ That implies we ever stopped being creepy. Is that a development I missed while effing around with printers?

7:38 PM
@Wesley I wasn't reading all the time before

@Wesley I've an 8mm and a 6mm in the left, and a 2mm in the right

@HopelessN00bGeniusofnetwork I'm quite new here... :D

@Wesley I've got surgery on Tuesday

That would do it too.

@Holocryptic Oh noes. =/

7:41 PM
@Holocryptic penis enlargement?

@Wesley yeah good times

@Holocryptic 5,000 rep on the button. Nice.

@MichelZ Well, there will be various devices shoved up my pee hole, so it's a distinct possibility
@Wesley ikr?

@Holocryptic Any openings in your Vegas office? I'd be tempted if so...

@Holocryptic that sound's awful. Or very sexually weird.

7:42 PM
@Holocryptic Penis enlargement via traumatic edema doesn't sound so hot.

@Wesley Not currently.. and when there is one they're looking for a network engineer
@Wesley I'd love to find a way to onboard you though
@MichelZ Yes to both

@Holocryptic I can do that too, unless they want someone who's a freaking CCIE or something
"Aww yeah, your packets are all busted. You should open the tubes up more." See? Network Engineer!
3

@Wesley Honestly don't know the specifics because it won't be until we get a permanent space up here

@MatthewIfe Hmm, Ganeti...

@Wesley But I will definitely put you up for it if you want

7:44 PM
@Holocryptic Cool. Well, I'm just a little ways south. If I set out at sunup I could be there for lunch!

@Wesley ha, you'd have to pony up and move big boy
@Wesley or buy a private jet

@Holocryptic Oh yeah, that'd be fine.
@Holocryptic I do love the desert, but it seems most jobs are in the PacNW, which is fine because that's where I'm from... but it's not fine because that's where I'm from. =P

@Wesley I'd hire you instantly as a network engineer! You seem to know how the packets flow!

@Wesley there were lots of jobs in VA. It's the silicon valley of the east.

@MichelZ The switch-bone connects to the router-bone, the router-bone connects to the CPE-bone, the CPE-bone connects to the SONNET-bone
2
I can totally network engineer.
@Holocryptic I thought NC was.
Research Triangle or whatever.

7:47 PM
@Wesley I dunno. It's just what I heard. Reston is a major software hub

@Holocryptic So you working from home today?
@Holocryptic So how's @ScottPack working out? That guy is sketchy as shit.

@Wesley working from home everyday. I'm on light duty still, since trying to put 2 and 2 together while high on drugs is a chore.

damn do my farts stink
2

@Wesley Ikr? I don't know why we hired him.

@Wesley If I had one more star....
ahh that's better.

7:50 PM
@Holocryptic Right. #nopants and all. You got roomies?

@Wesley thankfully, no

@Holocryptic Yeah, roomies are overrated. Unless they're me.

@Wesley It's been a nice change that's for sure. Plus it's good for all the pussy I have... I have 2 cats...

@Holocryptic Checkyer egumbels

7:55 PM
@BigHomie who the fuck is this ugly dude?

@Wesley holy shit that's awesome

@Holocryptic =})
There

lol
@MichelZ I could be me 10 years ago...

@Holocryptic I'm sure I can be me 10 years ago as well :D

idk, kinda looks like @voretaq7

7:58 PM
@BigHomie So it's official. We kill the Voretaq.

@MichelZ shit

Sounds good to me.

@Wesley I've been dead before.

Boring. Who tells a good joke?

@MichelZ Have you seen my penis lately?
3

8:03 PM
@BigHomie Hey! The judge promised me that my police sketch would be expunged from the public record!

@Holocryptic Yes, it's the ugliest thing i've ever seen

@MichelZ It is a scarred freak of a thing

@HopelessN00bGeniusofnetwork That begs the even bigger question of: Is the internet public record?

@Holocryptic Yes, and soooooooo small

@MichelZ the scar tissue helps fill it out some

8:05 PM
Someone tell a knock knock joke

@HopelessN00bGeniusofnetwork nah, found it
nothing can be hidden from the internet.

@MichelZ I was diagnosed with alzheimer's disease and ALS, but at least I don't have alzheimer's!

@Wesley Not a knock knock joke, but still +1

Holy Hell! @Holocryptic came back!

@ScottPack You can't keep a good man down, and apparently not a horrible one either.

8:12 PM
@Wesley knock knock

@freiheit ...who's there?

@Wesley freiheit

@freiheit ...freiheit... who?

@Wesley Oh he's definitely up.

@ScottPack It's the metal wire in my peen

8:13 PM
@Wesley Breaks down crying because Wesley's Alzheimer's is so far progressed that he's forgotten all about his good friend freiheit

ahahaha

@freiheit You Googled "anti-knock-knock-joke" didn't you.
@freiheit You just yell at me and tell me to buy a bike when you know I'm broke and unemployable by any good company and then you refuse to compare chest hair with me. =( SOME GOOD FRIEND YOU ARE!!

@Wesley No, no, that's this one: reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/1i5ooo/…

@freiheit I block reddit at home because I know I'll have my day devoured by it otherwise.

> Listen!! As sad as this really turly is, my family has a looooooooong history of this happening. I know I"m going to get it!!! My Dad is 47 and has the early onset!! The way I see it, is that I'll make new friends everyday!!!! =8^)

8:15 PM
(Fortunately I'm lazy and unblocking it is too much work)

@BigHomie Found it.

How does a sysadmin truly block a website on his/her personal network?

@BigHomie Truly? He doesn't. I just make it so that my laziness will be too daunted to unblock it under most circumstances.

@Wesley What do you have to do to unblock it?

8:17 PM
@BigHomie Not much, it's just that I'm reallllly lazy. =P
So I'll write a Ruby script to auto unblock it with a trackpad gesture.
Then I'll have to write a Ruby script to auto-lock it after 5 minutes.
It'll probably end with me sticking a fork in a toaster.

Is it possible for someone to become a sysadmin without even knowing about Scheduled Tasks in Windows?

@MichaelHampton If they're a *nix sysadmin?

@freiheit yeah and not know about cronjobs then?

@freiheit I knew what a cron job was before I was even a sysadmin?

@MichaelHampton Let's just say DevOps, not sysadmin then :D

8:20 PM
@freiheit Even I've heard of Scheduled Tasks!

@BigHomie I like at, too...

@Wesley Why don't you just don't got to reddit then? Instead of blocking it?

@freiheit never used at, I imagine it works like the Windows version though

@MichelZ Weak self control. Too easy to type "Re" and have autocomplete finish.

@BigHomie "at" is for one-offs.

8:21 PM
Three keystrokes to the Reddit front page. Can't handle it.

@freiheit Gotcha

@Wesley hehe

XPath...so useful

@Wesley Eh, mine's down to 2 keystrokes. Might indicate a problem...

Sweet, W3 total cache set up and ready to rock for next week!

8:26 PM
I fucking HATE Amazon Linux.

Q: Replace of cron job/cron tabs-- Windows Scheduler

MubinI want to know that there is any way to create an script on windows machine in PHP that should run after an interval, let's say every after 15 minutes. Currently I'm doing it using javaScript, but this is not an efficient way to do that as the browser tab have to be opened always (if user close ...

@MichaelHampton Is that what you were referring to?

@Wesley Nope

Q: "yum update" error. How to handle this?

MárcioI have an ec2 instance and I'm trying to update all packages. But the problem is when I execute "yum update" it shows the message: Transaction Check Error: file /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl/Cwd.pm conflicts between attempted installs of perl-Cwd-2.21-1.2.el6.rf.x86_64 and perl-PathTools-3.40-...

@MichaelHampton Oh I meant the Windows Task Scheduler thing above

Note: If you don't like it so leave it but please don't give it negative, as my account will be blocked

8:29 PM
@Wesley Ctrl-T, r, e, <Enter> (still at 4!)

@MichaelHampton whyso?

@cole Link?

@ewwhite They basically forked RHEL, years ago, and are still claiming it to be compatible when it hasn't been for some time. And their packaging QA is nonexistent.

Their QA is the customer.

@MichaelHampton I feel like most people use Ubuntu on EC2 anyway

8:31 PM
@ewwhite At least two or three times a week we get a question about Amazon Linux where it turns out Amazon has broken their own repos, or broken a package. It's just a mess.

@cole nice :D

@ewwhite Maybe most people use Ubuntu, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea. Lemmings, cliff?

And a home server question hits the front page.
Today is just awful

@MichaelHampton I always liked lemming. The gameboy game of course
@Wesley Maybe we need a dummy-test before people can sign up for SF

@Wesley this question made my day.

8:35 PM
I have a better idea.
if (SO.rep > SF.rep)
SF.question_banned = true;

@ewwhite lol it's permanently temporary

@ewwhite you deleted my comment... sad

@MichelZ I did?

@ewwhite Absolutely refuse to upvote that. =P

@ewwhite you didn't? I just assumed so :D

8:37 PM
@MichelZ No one can delete or modify comments except moderators.
So blame @MichaelHampton

@MichaelHampton I fully approve.

@PauskaSock Dude.

@MichaelHampton I blame you!

@Wesley 'sup hepcat

@PauskaSock I need valium. =(

8:38 PM
@Wesley Not the kind of let down in which I specialize, sorry.

What am I being blamed for?

@MichaelHampton IPv6

@MichaelHampton Heartbleed

@MichaelHampton Everyhing. One of my comments was deleted ;)

@MichaelHampton The sum total of lives lost in humanity's wars.

8:40 PM
@MichaelHampton Hitler

@MichelZ Really? I didn't delete it.

@MichaelHampton Then you're off the hook.

Oh, wait, yes I did.

Well in that case let's blame @ChrisS while he's not here.

@MichaelHampton It appears that perhaps your understanding of the basic mechanics of blame is poor...

8:41 PM
Let's blame @ShaneMadden then for putting the DB into read only mode

Oops, Sorry @ChrisS, I can't blame you today.

@PauskaSock I didn't use up all your IPv4 addresses! It was spammers.

@MichaelHampton I (@Wesley) knew it!

@MichelZ Damn right

@MichelZ When the DBMS / isn't takin' requests / the socks come out to play / biznitches

8:42 PM
@MichelZ Remember that comments are meant to be temporary. Yours served its purpose :)

Maybe I should go work for Stack Overflow... Need any Linux guys?

@Wesley I blame you for me getting soaked on my ride to work this morning. Well, you and the lying TV weather people and weather apps. But mostly you.

@KevinSoviero Just a network guy right now :)

@freiheit Move to Phoenix. Won't happen again.

@ShaneMadden @Wesley is a network guy: The switch-bone connects to the router-bone, the router-bone connects to the CPE-bone, the CPE-bone connects to the SONNET-bone - 58m ago by Wesley

8:44 PM
@ShaneMadden Do you guys even use Linux?

@KevinSoviero haproxy dude.

@MikeyB Is that it?

@KevinSoviero fucked if I know. I just know enough offhand to say "Yes".

Yeah, haproxy on the front end, Windows, IIS, SQL server on the back end.

@Wesley Santa Rosa is turning into Phoenix next week. (temps forecast to get into the low 90s).

8:45 PM
@freiheit *Phoenix Winter (FTFY)

@MichaelHampton So it's a Windows shop? Too bad...

@MikeyB I know just enough to bait the *nix fanbois so I can have some amusement as they choke to death on their own foaming vomit. =P

@KevinSoviero And in NY fucking C.

Is unplugging the computer a system-wide change? What about hitting it with a hammer? How about booting into a different operating system? Your question lacks clarity, and as such, is impossibly broad. — HopelessN00b Genius of network 20 secs ago

And @ShaneMadden broke it again: "There seems to be a problem connecting to the server. Please check your internet connection and reload this page."

I love the oppurtunity to ask questions like that. :D

Saddest part of my day:

@MichaelHampton My father lives there, and I used to live there... I didn't like it as much as Austin.

Having watched recent events unfold, I'm beginning to wonder what effect employment contracts are having on how companies and their employees respond to catastrophic reputation-loss events. A certain well known open-source company is undergoing this right now, which is why...

@ShaneMadden I can get you a good job.

@HopelessN00bGeniusofnetwork what is with you and hammers?

The only thing I ever want to do in NYC is get out as fast as possible.

Yeah, you know it's gonna be a quality question when that's the first thing they feel the need to point out.

@MichelZ I take no responsibility this time!
@ewwhite I just got one! (I think!)

@HopelessN00bGeniusofnetwork And you forgot to VTC

@MichaelHampton That's New Jersey. NYC's got some decent places to go and things to see and people to do, at least if you're just visiting.

8:49 PM
@ShaneMadden I can get you mad $$

@HopelessN00bGeniusofnetwork I like how he also kind of implies how bad the provider is for not providing support

@MichelZ Was already closed by the time I saw it.

@HopelessN00bGeniusofnetwork Still open...

Q: What system-wide changes can a user make?

JasonI work in an organization that uses Faronics Deep Freeze to prevent users from making changes to the computer. I had always been under the impression that a standard user (a user who is only a member of the "Users" group) can't make any system-wide changes. The description for the group states:...

@ewwhite That sounds like finance :p

@MichelZ They're just a great tool. A nice, ubiquitous blunt object you can use to bashing things, like stupid users, with.
@MichelZ Oh, so I did. Thank ya.

8:52 PM
@ewwhite What about me, can I have some $$$?
;)

@ShaneMadden could be...
I'll make you a wealthy man.
Do you mind waxing your chest?

@ewwhite Hot.
