@allquixotic Hmm
I'd find it interesting, it it weren't so utterly useless for me :P
@allquixotic As before, I suspect the modified sign-in page has something to do with it.
I'd look into it more, but it'd basically be at the bottom of my list.

I am so happy!
I am basically done with my MBA
The professor dropped the paper requirement. Of course I find this AFTER I took off work tomorrow. Go Figure

@Psycogeek Haven't tested it yet; was going to do that in a momemt
Steam does start up and run.

so ... make a guess, what will happen when you open https://www.facebook.com/pages/OpenBSD/108288282528657?

* i can't seem to find my ffavorites, lol
grrr
I lost the question with a command i wanted to try
Anyone recall that question with the command to determine the windows 10 product key by chance?
found it

11:25 PM
wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey

@Psycogeek Game runs as it should.
Took a reboot for it to see my Xbox 360 Controller, though.

@DragonLord I should really finish that game...
I think I got to the bridge where we have to fight that Eidolon (?) and pull off those specific combos to tame it. I could never get it right, so I gave up.

@MichaelFrank Eidolon for which character?

i should start FF13 I bought it back in XP, and it would not work without vista -7 there it still sits in the orginal (deeply discounted) box .

@DragonLord Uhh... Lightning I think. It was the horse guy? I really can't remember much now

11:29 PM
@MichaelFrank Odin.
Sorry, replied to the wrong person

Yea, that's the guy.

and odin is how far into the game?

@Psycogeek That's Chapter 4, which is still very early (<10 hours)

the command didn't do anything...
C:\WINDOWS\system32>wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey
OA3xOriginalProductKey

@Ramhound Did you elevate the prompt?

11:31 PM
yes
I just wanted to verify it actually works
need anything special installed/enabled?

I don't think so. I can't test it here, as I don't have Win8/X installed.

If anyone didn't notice:

Previous Versions and Windows 7 Backup and Restore are both back.
That's right, you can now restore previous versions, and it's better than ever. It can pull older file revisions out of either restore points or from File History (the latter is new in Windows 10).

nice...
It was never really gone, just retired ( more or less ), looks like they semi-reversed that decision.
interesting
I used Belarc Advisor to determine my product key and it detected a 8.1 key

backup software broke

11:38 PM
which tells me that Windows 10 will activate with Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 keys ( just can't be installed by them ).

no wonder...
Product key from the OA3 BIOS marker.
If you don't have an embedded key it returns nothing..
NM
I did run the report again. Still comes up as "Windows 8.1 Professional" interesting.
There another product that will display the windows license key that I can use to confirm this behavior that you guys would recommend? I have found all to often they don't display the right information until I found Belarc Advisor at least

@Ramhound Oh right... yea. I probably should've realised that was for OEM machines ha

I wish I had a Windows 7 license to confirm that Windows 10 would activate with the key
I suspect it might...
I am on a VM that i upgraded from Windows 8.1 to the previous TP build before 10240 which was then upgraded to it

11:50 PM
So it is interesting that the license that is detected is 8.1

Had to lossy-compress it a bit to fit within Imgur's 1MB limit

@Ramhound I have a couple Win7 boxes at home... Except they are all on a domain and not yet upgradable.

You know what? Imgur recompressed it :(
Trying again

dang. I need to plug-in a usb device but don't want to risk disconnecting my externals because a lack of usb reosurces..
( i really need to figure out a work around for that )

Still too large?

Bob
11:53 PM
Gah, people tempting me with 10 -_-

Should I jump into Windows Insider to beta-test new updates as they come?

@DragonLord Just upload to regular imgur then paste the link. :P
