Hi gyus. Could you help me with simple (and stupid maybe) question? I heard sometimes people say 'What means XXX ?' instead of 'What does XXX mean?'. Is it OK to say in this way?

whatching TV can't be perfect
Dec 4, 2015 12:59
there is no sense in this, isn't it?
Dec 4, 2015 12:59
I have watched TV
Dec 4, 2015 12:59
So i guess that the tense is using when we can't just use perfect, for example:
Dec 4, 2015 12:56
yeah, it's killing me
Dec 4, 2015 12:51
I'm still confused about perfect contitious. Most of sources say that the group of tenses are used to show perfect **duration** of an activity in time or number of times. My question is it exactly for that task? or the tenses can be **real** usful without pointing time or number of times? Yes, i saw some examples without durations, but i can't handle the real usefulness. For example:

I've been watching TV.

Why can't i just say something like this? :

I was watching TV couple of minutes ago

I think it's almost impossible to get native level in any lang after some age, kid brains absorb lang semantics
Jun 24, 2015 09:23
But i like fixed word order in sentence, it is one of the key reason that so many people could learn the language. Learning language with flexible word order is mind blowing for english speaker, i think.
