Would anyone use a frontend to SmokeDetector/MS that made it kind of more like SO's review queues? (separate queues for new posts, old posts without feedback, new domains, buttons for flagging and feedback and blacklisting...)

Well, I never really finished it

Part of what it was going to do was also be a frontend to Helios, to view the blacklists

Also it wasn't just an MS review queue -- it also had data from Halflife (that was one of the things I actually did get working)

It could just be that instead now then :)

The current review queue thing just replicates what we already had into the new system

I intend to add a domain tagging review queue, but it's not there yet

(was actually an answer to my Teams question that prompted this - @Glorfindel's, I think?)

The review system in metasmoke has been completely redesigned. I'm pretty sure it works, but ping me when it doesn't.

Cause I never meant to propose splitting off findspam into a separate thing while keeping SmokeDetector SE-specific

mostly the pinned thing is about whether we should or want to do it, rather than how... that's a whoooole other discussion

I meant that we generalize all the pieces: bodyfetcher -> findspam -> spamhandling, to handle different sites

spamhandling may go to places other than chat

Seems to me that there's reasonable support for doing it, though. (Or at least, nobody tried to chop my head off.)

bodyfetcher may fetch things from other APIs

findspam may use different spam checks for different sites

and I think this is what @Andy wants

I don't think chat is the right place for this though. It's hard to find entire discussions. I think proposals are going to need to be posted somewhere - teams or github - and discussed at length there. After that, we'll have a few different ideas and can work from there on what to do

Teams is actually a really good place for them now that we know it's slightly more permanent than alpha testing

This week is busy. I'm hoping to have free time over the weekend and I'll start writing up my thoughts then. Personal goal: Shorter than the Helios proposal

I'll have a gist though, so that we can see if it's similar before posting it to teams

Oh, regarding the Helios timings that I saw in passing yesterday. I want to clarify something: Helios is NOT hit with every post to check. Blacklists are cached locally, so you are hitting a local (in memory) cache. If you write to helios, or force an update (ie. if we allow MS to write to the blacklists), the local cache will be updated. That is the only time you are hitting AWS
