[ SmokeDetector | MS ] Bad NS for domain in body, blacklisted website in body: Best quotes And valentines day 2018? by robinschwartz on askubuntu.com
tpu- by Floern

@Magisch I didn't create one yet, but feel free to do it yourself :)
@Magisch yeah, I just wanted to test that the HTML parser worked

ah
I have a feeling I'll get a cease and desist mod note on this soon anyways

nah
yeah it involves some work for the mods, but you're doing the job for them for free
I wouldn't be telling you to stop :)

I flagged all those posts on web applications, but that list is growing as expected

@ArtOfCode I mean rather from all the work it makes for CMs

10:03 AM
@Magisch much the same response

Conflicting feedback across revisions: current, #1

@JakeSymons SEO probably has kicked in by now redirecting everybody to Webapps :/

I've run out of flags anyway, nothing more I can do :)

oh god

10:06 AM
@JarkoDubbeldam what?

the tag wiki of cognito links to help.cognitoforms.com

@ArtOfCode I think serial voting is one of these things where it's good to publicly take a no-tolerance approach but secretly nobody actually cares enough since it's small fry

which has a box of latest questions on the right, linking back to those topics on SE

@Magisch I dunno. I hear pretty regularly about serial voting messages going out from TL.

Otherwise the internal systems would be better at snuffing that out. If I can do it with a SQL query in a couple of days, SE itself should have no issue just doing it

None of these are hard to find, especially not when you have realtime data access like the CMs do

Shog confirmed in his answer on one of my meta posts that there already is a much better internal system in use but that they don't revert usually until it gets bad

10:13 AM
@JarkoDubbeldam left a post on meta here

So I wonder if I'm even helping or just teaching the serial voters to be sneakier

@JarkoDubbeldam it reminds me of this question where a user kept on posting 'me too' / 'please fix this ASAP' non-answers to the question.

@Glorfindel Is that why it was protected?

yep, that happens automatically after too many deleted answers by new users.

also to note stappit did not sucessfuly stop my instance (I had micsthepick in the location set locally)

The answer happened before the protection.

@JakeSymons it happens sometimes when closing as well.. people end up submitting a few secs after close

No, wait. There's another reason for auto-protecting: too many posts by new users (doesn't matter if they're deleted or not).
That newest answer actually caused the protection to kick in.

@Glorfindel Which is why the post appears at the same time as the protection, got it :)

@Undo should be good to deploy

@SurajRao yeah, i just added that to the meta post
We need a big banner saying we are not customer support straight across the question box :)

@SurajRao A sort of free HTML / form builder I believe. You could just tell them to post a photo of their website on SO under the PHP tag with "How to do this in PHP??? URGENT"

@PeterJ nah, your grammar is too good
"HOW I DO THIS WEB SITE PHP PLZ"
optionally add URGANT if it needs to be done any time in the next three months

10:46 AM

hmm, makes you wonder how wise it is to rely on free software like that for mission critical applications

Why does astronomy and graphic design get a lot of spam, they don't seem to be popular sites, wouldn't it be better to put it on StackOverflow or something?

fp- by CalvT븃

I mean, I know there is a lot of spam on SO, but why is there so much on the minor sites as well?

SE sites get good ranking from Google, and spam tends to live longer on smaller sites
That's why autoflagging is so useful - it halves the number of people needed to nuke a spam post

5:29 PM
@CalvT븃 What does your autoflaggign graph look like?
Mines up and down all the time and not much in the last few days :)

I had my condition automatically disabled as my minimum weight was too low back in the middle of december, and I didn't realise for quite a while, so it's got this massive flat part!

Ha!

@Jake ^

Most max flags I've had a day is four :)

I once got 28 I think
Back when core was a bit smaller
I was one of few with a) a low minimum weight and b) all the sites

And any condition has to have a 99.5% success rate, so I feel it's pretty safe
My minimum weight is 158 fyi
With a max poster rep of 1, which helps cut out any errors

@CalvT븃 I'll play around with the previews

@ArtOfCode It's amazing to me how people without formal coding training are creating American infrastructure. When the European-arab world war 3 rolls around in the next 50 years or so, our infrastructure is going to be like that scene in the matrix. All computers everywhere shitting the bed as the television and radio blare out for anyone with still-functional computers to report to authorities to put them in service of recovering the billions of other disabled computers.

@EricLeschinski people without formal coding training are some of the best developers I know. The variance, admittedly, is much higher.

@ArtOfCode When I say programmers with no formal training. I mean to say programmers who are writing customer facing applications who don't understand or care to know what SQL injection is. I've known developers without any programming educations who were the best of the best too. I'm just commenting how the first generation internet is swiss cheese, and when international cyber warfare heats up, we're going to find that very few organizations are ready for any level of attack.

@EricLeschinski there you are correct :)
and it wasn't just SQL injection in that post, but raw passwords too... so you can SQL inject and dump all the passwords out

Q: What are the limits on how I can cast, change, and retract votes?

jjnguyWhat limits are there on how I can vote? How often can I vote? How do my votes become locked/unlocked? Return to FAQ index

So 45 does work then, I've always though it was 40. Thanks @Catija

@JakeSymons I don't think anything there says that 45 is possible? 40 votes on posts is the max.

@Catija Well I've got 45 so it works somehow :)
!!/report please
