guys I have question about minecraft
about hypixel server to be specific
can teamkillers be reported?

Perhaps you should ask on Arqade.

Good idea. I also asked on Hypixel Forums already, seems more specific :P

Remember the Emoji button?

ಠ_ಠ
oh hey I still have it installed

Oh hey, I do too.
😀

6:20 AM
Is it good now or something

Of course not.
It's still intentionally not on the github.
But of course, 🌮

Looks like someone went on a -1 binge.

lol
or they were all LQA'd and then Community-auto-DV'd

@ATaco send me that please
ಠ_ಠ I just installed all of the userscripts

Please use Sandbox.

ok

@RO could someone get rid of the oversize text too

I flagged it

you're welcome

@Mendeleev ...No
My tree language can produce -1 with the code 1101001101101
The code tree produced is: (((),()),((),((),())))
Which is, for now, (1 - 1) - (1 - (1 - 1))
Not yet making use of unbalanced trees for looping.

7:11 AM
@LeakyNun oh that was fast. wait lemme go check what that does
oh it takes the absolute distance between the x and y terms and then takes the absolute difference between that and n?

yes
just like what isaacg did

ah okay.

Jim
Hello
@isaacg Question regarding Pyth: easy way to replace only the first occurrence in a string?

Shortest I can think of it x to find the first occurence, then X to replace it.

@Jim for example?

7:16 AM
@Jim So no
XzxzQ\a

same algorithm as well right?

sure

ok

@isaacg do you see any way of golfing this?

Jim
@LeakyNun For instance replace the first occurrence of aaa with zzz in ujaaaofyabnaaas -> ujzzzofyabnaaas

then isaacg's code wouldn't word

Jim
I know

and I have no idea how I would do that
other than to change my algorithm

@LeakyNun I'd probably do it differently from the start.

7:36 AM
@isaacg how?

Yours looks really overcomplicated, I'm not sure exactly how I'd do it.
I could try it now, but I don't see any obvious golfs.

I left my computer charger at school ;_;

Q: Convert phones to calculation

WeedozeIntroduction OnePlus is a Chinese smartphone manufacturer founded in December 2013. Their latest phone, OnePlus 5, was unveiled on June 20, 2017. I am sure you have seen that the name of the phone can easily be translated to a sum... OnePlus...One+...1+...Ok you got it ! Input The name of one...

7:53 AM
@LeakyNun So, I did it myself. The result is here: codegolf.stackexchange.com/a/127983/20080

@isaacg nice

Things that stick out: I used .[, the pad function. Very useful here. I used .r, the cyclic translation function. I used a small number of m's rather than a lot of Ms.
If you have many of them, Ms are bad because they're 2 bytes per function application.
Hangon, .r is unnecessary. Let me golf.

What C or python stuff should I learn to do stuff like this: jsfiddle.net/SalixAlba/c97ga3xw ?

ok I have to say, the most damning argument against windows 10 is probably the inability to disable tap click
everytime I click, it clicks twice.
sometimes it clicks when I try to just move the cursor. it is infuriating

Jayprakash DataniIs it possible to fix header in my HTML page using Javascript without using CSS property position:fixed?

hi all

@Lembik Do you want to allow answers that take a million years to run?

@feersum no.. I was trying to work out how to handle that
any suggestions?
at most one second per pair of sets?

"You must run your answer to completion before posting" has been used.

interesting!
that had never occurred to me

10:03 AM
The sets are supposed to be the output?

yes

Which ones (A, B) or T

@feersum added
I am slightly worried it might be too hard

Seems ok to me

but then PPCG always pleasantly surprises me with the quality of the answers
thanks!
I think I will post and see what happens

@Lembik Are you sure the output is small enough to even hold all teh answers in memory?
It seems to be rather large.

I fell like: "Then, your program must count the number of occurrences of each group (fizz, buzz, FIZZ, BUZZ), and remove all the groups of a kind, except for the first one, which will be preceded by the number of occurrences. The order of the groups must be kept. Clarifications below." is not really the best wording

10:22 AM
@feersum there is no need to hold it all in memory if you iterate in the right way.. but... how large an output have you got to?

I don't have any estimate for how large the total output is.

Q: Iterate over sets

But, for example, A = B = [0, a, -a, b, -b, c, d] works for any a,b,c,d.

@feersum hmmm

So that's (128 choose 2) (256 choose 2) for some very small part of the output.

10:24 AM
ok this might need to go back to the drawing board

Or if each set is some [0, a, -a, b, -b, c, -c] that's (128 choose 3)^2.

thank you
let me see

@feersum (128 choose 2) (256 choose 2) isn't too big but I assume you will be able to make it much bigger. I moved the question back to the sandbox

Exactly 10 o0

@ZacharyT Why am I wasting my time here?

:)
Just go about doing your other activities until you see a new message or something, that's what I do.
Is it always this dead around this time?

@ZacharyT Unfortunately, I have nothing serious to do. Hence, I am making polls!

12:00 PM
I never said it had to be anything serious.
Hey, anyone here familiar with boolean operations on polygons?

@Arjun none of them, they all suck. Gandalf is the greatest

If Rene Descartes doubted everything, then why didn't he doubt that doubting can prove that he is?

Oh no, not this again.

well why didn't he doubt doubting too? hm...should I doubt that? I doubt...

How long will this one go on for?

12:19 PM
@Arjun Because I am a blithering idiot.

@RenéDescartes you were planning that right?

Seriously you have GOt to B joking.

@EriktheOutgolfer Didn't go too well. The previous message also says Rene.

Seriously you have GOTO bee joking.

I mean, you changed your name to René Descartes

12:23 PM
@EriktheOutgolfer Yes.

seriously, why is it always me that gets starred in these kinda chain pun messages

You can't star your own message, can you?

I think, therefore I am.

@ZacharyT no

You have your answer there.

@ZacharyT ಠ_ಠ

please, "ninja'd" should be restricted to when you actually post the message a split second later than somebody else posting the same message, and then you are the one who is ninja'd

Then why are you constantly saying ninja'd?

ninja'd

@RenéDescartes please stop it

12:28 PM
Ouch, that hurts.
No respect for philosophers here.

ಠ_ಠ
@ATaco Oh, thanks for that by the way.

i think there are a few PhDs here (Doctor of Philosophy)

@RenéDescartes more like no respect for unnecessary ninjas, they're essentially just noise
they don't even make sense at all

@EriktheOutgolfer I was going to post the same message. So I ninja'd. Nothing bad there, isn't it?

So you were going to reply to yourself?
Or was that in response to a different message?

12:31 PM
@RenéDescartes well, you should be honest, and of course repeating it too many times at once is completely unnecessary, since by them we've all got that "there are many ninjas, just don't argue about it"
why caret reply why?

@EriktheOutgolfer ???

@ZacharyT Talking with oneself is a common practice among philosophers.

@ATaco caret reply has bug when another message is posted while you're typing your message
@ZacharyT ^

That's a feature.

@EriktheOutgolfer caret reply?
where?

12:33 PM
it's a taco script

Yeah, do you caret all to reply?

@ATaco come to the sandbox to see what I mean

@RenéDescartes But yet you are not a philosopher...

I, hereby, bid farewell to you all, forever.

12:35 PM
party noises

@ZacharyT I think, therefore I am.

@RenéDescartes I think not.
vanishes into oblivion

Hey, anyone familiar with boolean operations on polygons?

@ZacharyT what would that mean?

polygons aren't that boolean imo...maybe it's just me though

12:36 PM
AND <=> intersection, OR <=> union.
But WTF would I do if the intersection/union isn't a polygon at all?
(In code of course)

Oh wait, I think I'm misremembering when that happens

no i already have that lol
but there is a problem
i know for a fact that there used to be a star trek reference on an error page

hmm i just golfed 60 bytes off a 146 byte answer

Well right now, America is anywhere between about 7 to 11 or so. Given that it's exams week, most teenagers will either be sleeping in if they don't have any more exams or not one soon, or studying, or taking an exam right now. Given that North American teenagers seem to compose the majority of PPCG (if I am not mistaken), it would make sense for TNB to also be quite inactive at this time.

ok formal proof guy

Hm, once golfed 216 bytes off of a 591 byte answer :P
@totallyhuman At least I'm not using actual formal logic.

so here's the thing too
there's another python answer at 11 bytes lesser than mine
if i can keep the trend up...

I'm a teenager in North America and I'm not asleep and I don't have an exam too soon... it's in 3 days, that's not soon :P
