Not that I've thought of but I haven't given much thought to it
@Doorknob Do you use the system clipboard with Vim?

the output doesn't have to be minimal either?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Something like 1) multiply all percents *100 to get your targets 2) double targets if any are lower than current 3) subtract to get additions?
It doesn't need to be minimal, according to the ES6 answer's comments.

You guys are making it way too hard.

Probably :)

Q: Just a cite of body Muscle Building

user51863The principles are the same. However, the problem with most Muscle Building bodyweight programs is that you keep doing the same movements over and over again at higher rep ranges, when we all know that the key to gaining muscle mass is to perform less than 12 reps per exercise (20 reps works for ...

6:16 AM
Oh? I've only visited. It was... interesting.

why do you say that

I came away thinking it was an apt metaphor for the country, sad to say. Opulent monuments and government buildings, just a block or two away from some terrible ghettos. It seemed very much a tale of two cities.

Yeah that's true. But that's pretty much every big city though

Maybe it's different living there, I dunno. Like I said, I only visited, so I probably didn't get the full picture.
@Liam Maybe. It seemed more in your face there, at least to me.

Well I'm either moving there or baltimore
and everyone tells me to go to DC

6:21 AM
Yea, I never saw any of Baltimore except the harbor district, but I've heard it's not a great place now.
Look on the bright side: At least with DC, you have no effective voice in Congress.

I already feel that I don't have one
so no problem there
In DC you get to claim innocence from anything that Congress does wrong

Oh, I can claim innocence, too. Where I live, my preferred candidates don't typically get elected. That's what I get for being in the south I guess.
I mean, have you met our Senator? You might have heard of him, an up-and-coming guy named Rubio.

Hah doesn't ring a bell
Well I'm going to dress up like a thug for my latenight walk so no one bothers me
goodnight all

@MarsUltor I will do that later, it's 10:43 right now for me so I should be going to bed soon...

@Vihan can you push to GitHub?

he can push to GoatHub

@HelkaHomba Three of these?

@MarsUltor It's just a few lines of CSS:
background-image: url(<url of goat pic>);
background-size: 100%;
background-position: 0px 0px;

Here's the goat source file. Just set the alpha to 0. You can include the SVG path directly in the CSS: gist.github.com/minxomat/460d17f1459adce56c2d

6:47 AM
@mınxomaτ can you trace the upgoat image too please :3

@mınxomaτ You don't have to, I should be able to do it.

Don't have my tool atm. But you can just flip the path in inkscape and overwrite the "-" with a text-path of "+".

@Vihan It's just the downgoat image upside down, and with the number shifted.
@mınxomaτ I know.

@MarsUltor I wasn't replying to you.

Q: Scale and mirror SVG object

DeukalionHow do I most easily first scale an object, say 2 * times it's current size and then flip it vertically and horizontally, or both? As of now, I can either set "scale(2,2)" for it to become 2 times as big as it's width and height but I can't flip it at the same with scale(-1, 1) for vertical flip...

@mınxomaτ But @Vihan is going to sleep soon, apparently.

6:54 AM
@MarsUltor This should make it a lot easier ;) : gist.github.com/minxomat/c84fb5e568016a8fc4f3 . The Userscript font is Source Sans btw. so you might wanna change the +1/-1 font from Arial to that.

@mınxomaτ It's okay to just flip it using a transform, right?

@MarsUltor Yeah. Flip it, change the color in CSS. Straight forward. I'd leave the bkgr. transparent.

@mınxomaτ Yeah, I wanted the background transparent.

I also wouldn't necessarily write anything on the goats.

@zyabin101 Stealth pings put the ping in the link address.

@flawr Mine would probably be Uncomfortably-early-to-the-party compilers.
I'm really bad at estimating time, especially commute time, so I used to always show up like 2 hours early to parties. :|

@AlexA. UE2P compilers?

@zyabin101 No, that's normal AOT.

@MarsUltor AOT?

It's when AOL evolves into its final form: AOT.

@AlexA. But it's not even AOM yet.

7:46 AM
It'll get there
@MarsUltor Ahead of time would be just before the party starts so you can help set up. It's nice. Uncomfortably early is like, "Oh great, now we have to hang out with this guy for a while before anyone else comes."

@AlexA. Ahead of time is being ready once you get the invitation.

I need one that compiles my program before I even wrote it. To make up for my too-late-ness. Any recommendations?

@flawr Use a JIT, it's close enough. Pypy/asm.js are fast and don't take very long to compile.

But if you're using that many placeholder variables, something's wrong.

8:02 AM
foo bar baz foo bar foo baz

A metasyntactic variable is a placeholder name used in computer science, a word without meaning intended to be substituted by some objects pertaining to the context where it is used. The word foo as used in IETF Requests for Comments is a good example. By mathematical analogy, a metasyntactic variable is a word that is a variable for other words, just as in algebra letters are used as variables for numbers. Any symbol or word which does not violate the syntactic rules of the language can be used as a metasyntactic variable. For specifications written in natural language, nonsense words are commonly...
From the article: A "standard list of metasyntactic variables used in syntax examples" often used in the United States is: foo, bar, baz, qux, quux, corge, grault, garply, waldo, fred, plugh, xyzzy, thud.

Basically you're on a map, and each turn you can either move one square NESW or stab an adjacent square NESW. Stabs happen first, then moves. If you get stabbed, you respawn inside of a home base. The goal is to move over a certain square in the enemy base, and make it back home without dying.

That'd be awesome to visualize.

I have a challenge idea!

>.> The guy commenting on my question about SOCKS thought I was running it on my own computer. >.> I am uneasy.
@zyabin101 :o Do tell.

@CoolestVeto You have to measure how much broken keys will be pressed on the broken keyboard.

o-o I don't understand that so far.

Based on that, you have to calculate how much it'll take to type it.

Still not understanding you.

9:14 AM
For reference, the broken keys that aren't purely functional on my keyboard are `123qwaszx and their shifted equivalents. I usually use, unfortunately, the left Shift.

Oh, so you mean, like, "take a string input and see how many times these keys are used"?

@CoolestVeto And based on that, calculate the time it'll take to type it.

Oh. So, it's a regex for all caps and those chars, then multiplication.
Hmm. This comment on my Arqade question is slightly off-putting.

Yes. But does it need a twist to make it hard?

He thinks that the port for HTTP is 8080, not 80, he thinks that you can have a server running on a port... he doesn't understand network tunnels, and he thought I was running the SOCKS proxy on my own computer.
@zyabin101 Eh. Once people figure out how to parse it, it'll become trivial, but as long as you have a good enough backstory (use that image), I think you'll be fine.

# My Plan

I'm nowhere near finishing this, but I've got an **attack plan**. The key word here is **abstraction**. If a stage becomes esoteric, I'll abstract it to the next stage.

1. Create an esoteric language with an interpreter in a known programming language, for example Python.

2. Create a self-interpreter for that esoteric language.

3. Start improving this self-interpreter to make the language like a known programming language.

4. Start creating libraries for the language, among them a library for console works (like curses).

Anonymous
@zyabin101 it can be the greatest plan in the world, but that doesn't mean anybody will care.

5. **Program Tetris**.

## Optional tasks

- *Implement the Game of Life*.

Anonymous
You do you. Preferably without overloading TNB with chatter that most of us are unconcerned with.

9:49 AM
@zyabin101 I don't understand. Self-interpreter?

@MarsUltor A program that interprets the language the program is in. A good example would be PyPy, a Python interpreter in Python.
Also, when PhiNotPi returns?
