I've seen its appropriate use in competitive gaming, such as Magic: the Gathering and Smash Bros. "Mine to lose" would mean that I'm in a situation where I've endured (or at least I've appeared to have endured, but that assumes we account for epistemological concerns) all circumstantial variance that contributes to the outcome of some contest and come out ahead with my luck and/or skill.
