@MetaEd I never liked Star Trek... so I'm vindicated.
@Mitch I told you it was a mutant...or a hybrid, that's probably a hybrid.

@Mitch 'YOUR QUALITIES MAKE ME UNCOMFORTABLE!' It is harder than it seems...

3:50 AM
'All of these bad qualities are making me kinda grumpy.' Yep, my granddaughter is right; it always works.

Q: Firm but gentle

DeezquestionsI’m looking for a word that means gentle but firm. Almost in the way one would pet a cat, or maybe sculpt clay on a wheel. A word that describes something with structure, but also has the love and compassion of Guanyin herself.

Hi hope you doing well
I'm looking for the name of the book which contain ( Appendix 2 The Elements of Fiction )

4:48 PM
@Educ Have you tried Googling?

@Cerberus yes I did but I can't figure out the name of it

The results above are about a course syllabus.
Who is this?

I found this
SW: Appendix 2: The Elements of Fiction, 1742.
I don't know what does SW stand for
?

5:13 PM
I'm still don't know the name of that book

@Educ Apparently it's "A Brief History of the Short Story" but I don't know who wrote it.
On second thoughts that might be the title of the previous appendix. Back to the drawing board.

This must be it.
The Story and its Writer
SW
Because the names of the appendices, in order, are the same.

So @Educ, you could have saved us all some time if you had provided more context from the beginning.
Now we have had to waste some time.

5:32 PM
@MetaEd My husband worships Star Trek...so can we be friends-in-law?

@Cerberus I'm sorry I ve just scanned Thank you so much for your help
@AndrewLeach Thank you

5:57 PM
@Educ For example, the letters SW, a few sentences from the text, the source of your text, what you are supposed to use it for, anything.
All that helps.

Q: Is there a word/phrase to describe a person "who hates someone rather than hate their views"?

ExplorerLet's say there is a person called X. X is a good person, in general. He has a problematic view about something, let's say, homophobia. So, here is the conversation between Y and Z. Y: X is homophobic. I hate him. Z: I don't support X's views, but I do not hate the person. I hate his views. Is...
