@KitFox Your bot generated a reference to that completely at random. Look at the message just above my original entry that you responded to. It was a Wikipedia article, which came apparently out of knowwhere.
Sorry, I just had to give a two-hour presentation about prototypal inheritance and my brain has evaporated. Plus all that talking made me hyperventilate and I'm dizzy now.
Well, if you are burying a loved one, and someone sees that as a nice occasion to celebrate the opposite side of the circle of life, some people take offense.
Look. A person could be in the middle of burying their entire extended family, and be consumed by grief, and find a moment's respite with a lover, and conceive a child, and anyone who gets annoyed by that needs to get their head out of their ass.
@oerkelens AT the parlour?
not just "the day of the funeral", but at the actual place where the funeral was happening? Okay, that might be a bit rude.
Cuz like nobody I know ever makes a list of all the places you were 9 months before your kid was born and then tries to figure out WHICH place was the one where you did it.
@Mr.ShinyandNew安宇 People do tend to remember that somebody died nine months ago. And if they are distrustful to start with, they will quickly jump to conclusions. Not always wrongly.
@aediaλ If you like iguana's I'll ask my brother if he has some pics. He used to have a bunch :)
@oerkelens Yes but it's one thing to note that in the same 4-week period preceding the birth of a baby there was a funeral, and it's another thing entirely to assume that the conception happened at that exact place.
Unless the girl wasn't his wife or girlfriend or whoever, and was someone he wasn't likely to have been around except at the funeral.
Yeah my family asks no questions about when and where (and why, and how, and with whom, or with what) I have sex, and they keep their assumptions to themselves.
Well, my then girlfriend, now wife, was shocked by her dear old mom when she told she had a boyfriend. First question was "how is the sex". Even before she asked my name or anything.
Talking about meeting in the middle, I guess that it's quite likely that most people here would end up in desert or on water if they'd come to meet me in the middle. :D
@Mr.ShinyandNew安宇 I tried to estimate the line better and I think the midpoint is probably farther south, near Syracuse, unless you live a lot east of where I thought. I thought at first the midpoint might be in Oswego area or into the water. I'm sure my measurement with a sticky note on the monitor is incredibly accurate...
@DemCodeLines "The following standings have been calculated taking into account tie-breakers"? If your readers will know what you mean by taking into account tie-breakers, that's fine. Out of context, it's hard to tell for sure if it means what you intend.
The standings is a list of the current position of each team with regards to its wins and losses number compared against the other teams.
so for example, team a has 10 wins and 0 losses while team b has 2 wins and 8 losses, so the position of team a is above team b.
However, some teams have the same record, at which point the season tie breaker (which is who won between them when they last played) determined which team gets the higher position.
so if both team c and team d have 7 wins and 3 losses and team c lost to team d the last time they played, then team d will get the advantage and be ranked higher than team c.
yes, because the winning percentage (which is calculated by total wins divided by total games played) would be lower than the team who has a perfect record.
not the number of wins, since they don't represent the total games played. One team could have played 10 games and had 1 loss while the other could have played 9 and had 0 losses
There is no way one team would have played 10 games while the other would have played just 2.
Had that ever happened, then we would have taken care of games played too. But since one team can be ahead of another team by 1 games at max (team a: 5/10 and team b: 5/11), we don't really need to account for total games played.
