It works because there's an error.
An error in one thing causes another thing to work just fine...

It seems your project documentation is also an error

@Pimgd no that's normal

this weekend I'm gonna move my adult-themed projects to the githubs

Q: How to handle possible trolling questions?

Simon André ForsbergThere has been primarily two questions that have been severely down-voted because of the code being childish / immature / possible "trolling". How could I optimize this script? @SimonAndréForsberg I have made very usable uh
imageviewers
when I was young
just cause it's adult-themed doesn't mean it's trolling
2
Quite the opposite, really =D
It's satisfying a developer's personal itch =D

@Pimgd I might not read/understand it correctly. What is hateful about it?

3:19 PM
@SimonAndréForsberg "eff u ho3$" = "fuck you whores" ... via "f u hoes"

@Pimgd I don't like the "trolling" word/concept overall, who decides what's trolling and what is not? (you don't need to answer that)

@SimonAndréForsberg provoking emotion for the sake of provoking emotion... with a negative tone to it
I think you don't like the trolling word because it carries a negative tone yet it also applies to certain foreign aid commercials
hmm actually no
those want you to give them money, so that's not just for the sake of provoking emotion
I guess it's a good idea to not answer that question ("what is trolling") =D

Attention all you Code Review users .... ;-) About that deleted answer - trolling one.
You guys did the wrong thing... ;-)

Shouldn't it be marked as spam such that the system handles it as soon as possible and the user gets banned from the whole SE network?

^^^ that,... yes
Unfortunately, the delete happened before the spam was confirmed.

3:24 PM
Earlier today I heard/read that spam was only for product advertisment

If you flag as spam/offensive, do not also vote-to-delete

looking for mod response on this edit

@rolfl I honestly thing that the system is wrong there, not that we did the wrong thing. We want it removed ASAP, if we are faster than the system, then the system is wrong.
@Pimgd believe it or not, I am too. But if I was a moderator, that is what I would do.

A: SPAM flag declined but flagged post contains spam link & was deleted by moderator

Robert HarveyYeah, this one was my fault. Part of the problem is that, if a post gets -3 votes or more and gets dimmed by the "your answer sucks" CSS, the spam links are obscured. I may file that as a bug. In the absence of spam links, it's just gibberish. Removable with extreme prejudice, but not spam.

A post is deleted after 3 votes, but a spam/offensive requires 6 flags.
(sorry, had to look it up....).
The first spam/offensive flag casts an automatic -1 downvote as well.
after that first flag, other trusted users can vote to delete.
so you can delete after just 4 flags, before it is marked as spam.

3:29 PM
@rolfl I believe all spam/offsensive flags does that. Unless you also downvote yourself.

@SimonAndréForsberg - can you flag the deleted post for mod attention? (please test that...)

@SimonAndréForsberg I feel it's unnecessary censoring + altering of the code

Thanks... OK, Interesting @SimonAndréForsberg

@Pimgd I am only altering the URLs and the comments. I would like to know @rolfl's opinion about the edit though.

So, I have the flag, now I want to throw the post in to the spam system, I have to mark your flag helpful, undelete the post, then flag it as spam.
@SimonAndréForsberg I will get to that in a bit.
(for the record, I want to completely destroy the bob account too).

3:32 PM
@rolfl sounds more complicated than it has to be.

This is bob. Help bob fight against -
That bob ruined bob for me as a joke character

Or, I just do this:

Actually the quality of your average bob has been decreasing
@rolfl that looks like a button that triggers audits

Destroying the user has been effective, but it did not process the flag on the post.... OK.

> Sexually Explicit Material. Accounts that use Stack Exchange to post sexually explicit or pornographic material, or links to it, will be suspended.
balls.

3:36 PM
OK, final verdict, @SimonAndréForsberg - I think I agree with you, that deleting it is more important than waiting for the spam/offensive flags to roll in.
But, in the event that the post gets deleted by votes before the spam flags accumulate enough, please flag it manually for mod attention so we can deal with the account
2

thanks, @rolfl. Glad it worked to flag after it was deleted.

So the PROPER reaction to "Here's my <pornwebsite> clip downloader code please review it" is a suspension of your account =/

Now, what about the clip downloader?

... but it's not actually a link
just a plaintext string =)

@Pimgd I also thought about that, but if I would write cheapviagra.com in a question, I'm pretty sure it would be considered link-ish enough.
if a plaintext string is a web URL, it can be considered being an actual link.
in fact, I'm flagging the post for moderator attention. Let's see what @rolfl does with it.

3:41 PM
IMHO people should grow some thicker skin
this because I still wish to post source from various adult-themed or related to adult-themed works for review

I'm consulting the PTB.

THE PTB?!
(What is the PTB?)

IMHO It's friday and I don't want to work at ALL. I want to do something fun
2

Powers that be.

@Marc-Andre go test the clip downloader

3:43 PM
@Pimgd At work not sure at ALL

Or maybe not.
> Subscriber represents, warrants and agrees that it will not contribute any Subscriber Content that (...) so "Please review my Cryptolocker implementation" is also not allowed
How boring! (But understandable)

eehh???
why that?

@Vogel612 someone posted an implementation of a nsfw-video downloader for review
I went digging what is and what is not allowed

shoops
maybe I'm misunderstanding..
but.. CryptoLocker is just an Encryption, right?

@Vogel612 "How can I remove the duplication from this PDF code intended to download my virus and install it without asking permissions?"
You get an email with a pdf attachment, it uses some bugs in the viewer to run arbitrary code
this arbitrary code downloads a program that encrypts everything it can find with a public key
the private key is somewhere else

3:51 PM
OK, my verdict, @SimonAndréForsberg / others.
The question in it's current state is now 'clean'.
We try on Code Review not to judge why people use their code, whether it's password crackers, scanners, etc.
there was not an actual link to any porn, though anyone using the code would have run in to it....
So, I agree with your edits, It is now a decent question.
I don't believe there's a reason now, or even before, to suspend the account, but it is pushing that line about as close as you can go without crossing it.

In favour of the actual user (using private mod-only info), the user has a registered account... but, it's brand new, and has some suspicious properties....
While the post may be acceptable, I am suspicious that it may be a troll.
on the other hand, the hoops the user has jumped through to create the account in the way he did, is probably just because he may be otherwise embarassed about the content.

okay...
what about code containing inappropriate terms?

The be nice policy has this to say:
> Inappropriate language or attention. Avoid vulgar terms and anything sexually suggestive. Also, this is not a dating site.
The two key things there are:
1. avoid - not an absolute!
2. inappropriate - sometimes it actually is appropriate.

hmmmmh
actually
I suppose I could make a class "Data"
Data.getModVariableArray()
then you'd be rid of most of the nasty
some of the nasty would stay

Ok, thanks for the verdict, @rolfl. I agree with that.

So basically as long as I make a good attempt to get the nasty out of the way and don't go hahahaha look I put nasty code up for review, it's okay?
good attempt being me actually trying (like said data class), not just "I tried nothing and I'm out of ideas"

Right, but still expect downvotes, etc.

4:12 PM
@Pimgd I think it's more like, "nasty for the sake of nasty" is bad, but "nasty because the code has to do with nasty" is OK
5

that ^^

@Phrancis yeah but placing my list of nasty at the top of my source file because hey, that's where you put your private static final feels wrong
so I think making some attempt to clean it up would be welcomed
It'll make it easier for me to describe small changes too

Maybe read up just a bit too for the preferences file

I'm voting to close this question as example code, because it has been stripped down of its context and wouldn't compile as is (var context = new XContext isn't valid C#). That said, you're using two contexts, that doesn't mean you're using two connections - you may want to read up on connection pooling and how EF is handling that. — Mat's Mug 10 secs ago
