Many years ago, I was on vacation with my parents and had a can of coke (Coca Cola) at like 6pm or something. I sleep-walked that night, and my parents later told me that I also frequently gnashed my teeth if I had caffeine close to bedtime. Hence, when I was going to stay at a residential high school and thus have roommates, I decided to stop consuming caffeine completely. That's persisted even to today. :)
That does make me the odd one out at work since I never have coffee. :P
Alright, getting too sleepy to stay on the computer. Gonna go make my bedtime tea, read, and sleep. Have a good night and I'm curious about what pattern and colors you eventually pick :)
My parents invented a name and I have rolled with it well into my 20s. Althought it's made me into a person who I'm happy to be, I believe it is still very detrimental to my success and confidence.
I can think of two situations where it has done me more harm than help me:
Resumes or dating app...
I had a friend, He is very good person. I never betray him, and cheat.Unfortunately, he goes to find cheating people for the friendship.
I am very worried about him. How can I help him?
Of course, those cheats do not want me to help him
I'm tired, which mean I'm more easily stressed. I have to work on something, but I can't because devs have to fix something before. So now I'm probably supposed to work on something else, but my brain can't fix on anything else. And now I'm basically stress eating because of that ^^'
Take it slow too. Try to do some googling, perhaps come up with a good question on the subject matter ;) Try and see if there's stuff you feel could be reopened, make a meta about that.
Reopening stuff is much harder than closing things. It often require for the OP to add informations and they are often no longuer around and/or not interested in there question anymore :/
Also, I'm not sure I know how to "switch speed" :P
@Noon Well, perhaps it really is time for you to do so... You've been working really hard, but you might get into trouble if you keep poking that many old answerers with comments ;) Take a break, relax, hang in this chat room... Start crocheting! :P
Wait, if @Noon slows down then I won't have review tasks to do...cue existential crisis.
Also, @Noon if you are looking for IPS related things to do, there's a topic listed in the "what can I ask about here" page that I think we don't have enough questions on. You could take a stab at asking some questions in this topic: understanding social norms as they relate to interpersonal interactions - why do we interact the way we do?
I found this question which is sort of in the vein that I was thinking, but it's closed as too broad. I can't find any that are exactly what I'm thinking of. I do have an example that I tried workshopping in chat several months ago
What I am thinking of is taking a social norm and asking about why it is the social norm
Several months ago I wanted to workshop a question like that
The question I had was "Why do people say they are sorry when they haven't done anything wrong". An example situation would be when I say that I had a bad day at work, my finacee might say "I'm sorry you had a bad day".
When I tried workshopping, we found that this question in particular wouldn't be a great fit for the site, but I don't remember exactly why
It was also explained to me that I was failing to understand sympathy
@Noon Does that all make sense or am I just crazy?
the 10 day forecast shows all of the days from here on out until thursday it doesn't go above freezing very much. Only two days but that's only a degree or two above freezing
@Noon yup. I woke up, opened the blinds, and saw snow blowing around and I said thanks but no thanks haha I don't want to go out. Mayyyybe I have to in order to get the mail and return netflix dvd but that's it...
@ElizB Snow - Every years we had at least one big episode of snow per/winter. But this year, I'm in another city and I probably won't see the snow. Plus, I won't be able to go to the montagne for this winter holiday, so no snow here either :'(
I suppose that makes sense. When I was looking for questions the first thing I did was to check social-norms, but that doesn't exist. I suppose if I could find a question that would fit I could re-tag it
@Noon that's really cool. I started skiing at age 5 and always have known how so far. I haven't skiied in more than 3 years because my relationship with dad dive bombed and the tickets are expensive and I can't afford it
I also just took a look at my calendar and saw I need to taxi my little brother to the doctor because my mom is working, and I already committed to it. I have a habit of forgetting if it's not written down on my calendar
That's what Google calendar does, it reminded me 30 minutes before I need to leave
@Noon i only have to pay for gas to drive there then get lift tickets. My dad he bought everything we need. Unfortunately I think my skis are still with him. I have boots, helmet, pants, coat, gloves, gator (scarf thing)
Okay, i have 10 minutes to spare :) I rushed into getting dressed so i have time to spare haha
@Noon Indeed. I miss my skis. I tried to find them at my mom's but I think that they're at my dad's house, he owns two, one here in town and one next to the mountain where he skis
Let's assume that you are working somewhere, a co-worker of you leave and someone takes the initiative to buy a "good continuation" card for people to sign.
Is there a specific etiquette regarding who has to sign the "good continuation" card? What should people take into account when deciding if...
