@Tinkeringbell sorry my boss was looking over shoulder so had to close lol the first answer was good in providing her view but was nothing I didn’t already know. The vape suggestion was really good but I strongly disagreed with the “your feelings don’t matter” first half of that answer so I did downvote. Thanks for your help, it’s much appreciated.

I haven't actually got a computer science degree from uni I just did an apprenticeship

@Magisch So, if you pass the exam, that's equal or something? What's a chamber of commerce exam exactly? We have a chamber of commerce here, but it's not taking exams as far as I know

@Tinkeringbell It's out vocational school system. I'm doing an apprenticeship as software developer which is mostly working for a company and then some school. At the end of it you have to write a full project report on a project (think like a less voluminous bachelor thesis) and then take a chamber of commerce administered 3 stage exam. After that, if you pass the written exam and the report, you have to take an oral exam and a cross examination talk. If you pass all that, you're done.

It's not quite equal to a bachelor degree but not that far off

Not that bad. A bachelor thesis would be significantly more.

He goes to egypt multiple times a year to dig sites on his vacation time

does bachelor have thesis? I think if you want to do research in bechelor studies , you can only write the research results in papers to publish. If you write a thesis, nobody would review it because it's not a requirement of graduation for bechelor.

Well, over here it is... I have a bachelor and a master degree in Archaeology, but I never had to publish 1 paper... just write 2 thesis

I observed my university library here even has no positions for bechelor thesis, so if one writes a bechelor thesis here, probably nobody would read it.

in my undergraduate studies, there are some courses whose professors give exams to give grades while the others require writing reports to give grades. I prefer exams.

so-called writing reports means to find literature on some topic to write a report or give presentation.
