After just recently watching the first few episodes of the American version of the conspiracy thriller series, Utopia there is one scene in episode 1.03 where anti-hero and protagonist Jessica Hyde feels compelled to kill her former mentor, Artemis after she learns the truth about her father, whi...
One brother needs to find 10 (?) things. The last (?) task involved a unicorn, and another involved a witch. The disabled brother (who was in a wheelchair) also has an adventure, with a girl.
My mum read it as a child (70s/80s) in the British Council Library but doesn't remember any more than wha...
After being kissed by a Dementor a person's body exists as an empty shell, without a soul, and they live in a vegetative state.
I was thinking that perhaps an evil wizard could round up some people who have been Kissed, put them under the Imperious Curse, and have them do their bidding. I can't f...
Yesterday the question Why did the Orcs bother with the Elves at all? was closed as opinion-based. I voted to reopen it, and commented that I believe there is a definite (quote-supported and fact-supported) answer. Edlothiad, it appears, disagrees with me.
There are a number of questions on the s...
@Randal'Thor well, good is subjective. Different people like different things, hence why I don't get why people refuse to read/listen to/watch stuff based on the opinions of unknown people who don't have a clue about their tastes.
Then again, that's how I am wired. It's a big world out there so it's not like I take an issue with people not thinking like I do on these non-important things.
Click here to go see the bonus panel!Hovertext: Oddly it came out looking like my brother Greg, but all I had in mind was 'draw a very boring man'. Today's News:
It is well established that there is an international wizard in community of which there are many witches and wizards of varying nationalities. It think that just as there are varying traditions and normalities that there would also be varying incantations to cast spells with or without a wand. W...
A couple years ago, I watched an old movie (Made a little before or a little after Star Wars) about these people who were in this large ship, and I remember that there was only other one human on it, directing an army of physically altered human slaves. There was something about that human being ...
In Shrek the Third, Snow White is proud and vain.
Because vanity played a part in the Evil Queen wanted to be the fairest in the land, what if someone surpassed SNOW WHITE for that title?
Would she accept it? Or would she be no better than her stepmother?
There seem to be many different plot lines in Alan Dean Foster's Humanx Commonwealth.
Is it sufficient to read each series in publication order, or do I need to switch between series as I read?
Been trying to identify this one for years.
Live-action UK TV miniseries in maybe 3 parts, on commercial broadcaster (almost certainly ITV at that time but might have been specific to the regional broadcaster). UK production in English.
1980s, probably earlier rather than later
Main character, ...
When Albus and Scorpius intervene with Cedric in the 1st Task, dressed as Durmstrang students, Hermione noticed them and turns Kremlin down because of this, choosing instead to go to the Yule Ball with Ron.
However, when Scorpius revisits the 1st Task with the alternate versions of Snape, Ron and...
The LOTR Project Blog article Character age at the time of the Hobbit has Thorin's age at 17 years older than Balin, yet why does Peter Jackson's 2012 movie The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey portray Balin with his hair completely white and looking decades older than Thorin?
In contrast, the 2001...
@Jenayah Taking purely "unknown people" here, I might agree if all you got was an opinion "it was crap." But in Spencer's original coment that started the thread, the hypothetical review also included a comment about self-degradation. Which might be sufficient additional information to legitimately put one off.
"It was an okay movie for 95 minutes, but the last 10 minutes of naked christian propaganda ruined it." Would also adequately warn me off.
Tom speaks about her sister, who is expecting forth child:
Tom: And I'm always touching her belly. It's calming.
Malorie: Yeah, it's nature's dirty little trick.
What's so dirty in touching pregnant's woman belly?
In the Chamber of Secrets book, there are a few signs that the culprit has been acting abnormally throughout the year. I don't think that there were enough for many readers to identify the culprit ahead of time, but they were undeniably present. In the film, I'm not so sure. Were there any scenes...
There was this show I used to watch on Jetix probably. The lead was a boy and wore a red shirt, or there was something red about him. People used to fuse with their companion animals. This boy fused with a monkey and transformed into a huge King-Kong like thing. The villain had a cockatoo and whe...
