Moody was one of the most grumpy characters in Harry Potter, the most experienced after Dumbledore and yet he was also one of the most mysterious. His eye though, was the most mysterious thing about him. Why is there no canon mention about the origin of his eye anywhere?
Speculations and canon ac...
The crystal stone in Wonder Woman 1984 grants wishes, with a twist:
Diane gets Steve back, but slowly loses her powers
Barbara becomes powerful, losing her "soul" (it is difficult to estimate the rate of this loss)
Maxwell gets the power of the crystal, slowly losing his health
various people th...
@Alex @Alex Perhaps. Marvel has had two new films every year during the site's lifetime, so it's hard to see the effect of most of them; Star Trek has TV series ongoing all the time. Game of Thrones, however, has obvious blips for season 4, 6, 7, 8.
And Marvel has a blip in 2019 spring either because there were three films released then or solely because of Avengers: Endgame.
Can The City of Ember be denied a second chance, i.e. a new screen adaptation / a TV series / streaming screen adaptation, because the 2008 film was "once-in-a-generation" or "once-in-a-lifetime" after gained a cult following despite its box office failure and will remain as a "once-off look into...
@AyushBhatt You can flag a post, flag -> in need of moderator intervention and then detail the issue, link to the account as well would probably be helpful
Sigh. > Remove this module entirely, since has been abandoned since it was first committed, all the code was copied elsewhere, and it doesn't even build.
Is there a standard for markdown? Normally I just ctrl+i or ctrl+b to insert italics or embolden and it puts in the asterisks needed, but with the new markdown it seems you can use underscores as well. Is there a specific preference or does it not really matter so much?
There's a series of books I read, probably 10 years or more ago, that I just can’t seem to pinpoint.
The timelines jump about a lot, so it’s hard to figure out the order, but here are some things I recall:
A) there were AI augmented humans (I’ll call the haimans like Neal Asher)
B) there was a ma...
@JackBNimble Do you think it's worth a blog post to announce SFF's new topic challenge program? I was thinking to write something up and increase the cross-platform publicity.
Then maybe monthly topic challenge round-up blog posts? Or would that be too much and flood out other blog content?
Please link to your favorite questions and answers which were either asked or answered from October 1st 2020 through December 31st 2020.
Your answers will be compiled into a blog post like previous quarterly posts.
I will be using DavRob60's queries for a baseline, but I really appreciate people ...
Story about a boy coming through a portal to Earth. The Sun burns him and a girl hides him, until he breaks free and returns to his own world. She follows him to a cold world, where she is cold the whole time.
I think the male character is called Charn.
I sometimes think about this book that I read sometime in the late 1980s. It was a story about four or five teenagers / young adults who traveled between dimensions, although I seem to remember that this was involuntary, at least at first.
The most striking memory I have of this book is the cover...
The show's premise is a mish-mash of influences and inspirations, from Neil Gaiman to Mortal Engines.
Is there any evidence the Mortal Engines Quartet influenced and/or inspired the show's elements?
There’s a series of books I read, probably 10 years or more ago that I just can’t seem to pinpoint.
Here are some things I recall:
Space Navy based Space Opera
Space ships could jump between solar systems through natural gateways and the edge of the solar system
Series covered wars and battles w...
I am looking for a movie ...not sure about the year...maybe 80-90's. In my country, on TV, the title was translated as "The Magician", but it does not exist under this name.
The main actor was kinda looking like a young Micheal Ontkean (Harry Truman from Twin Peaks)..same dark, curly hair. I saw ...
