@TheLethalCarrot I don't count fanfiction questions as Harry Potter questions.

Were they fan fiction like? I only looked at the times of recent HP Qs not what they were
Though even without those I bet there's still been more HP ones

@TheLethalCarrot The last six questions were: 2 which I answered, 2 fanfiction, 1 about a movie line, and 1 duplicate.
that covers the last three days.

3 questions in 2 days and you're complaining? Oh my sweet summer child

@TheLethalCarrot yeah at least there is enough HP to go around

True, though to be fair the OP didn't like my answer to this one so there's some room in the ring for you to hop in

@TheLethalCarrot The duplicate doesn’t count because I can’t answer it.

GoT has only had 3 Qs this month with 5 last :(
@Alex Hence the 3

One of the ones I answered got no attention because a different answer was already popular.
So that leaves me with one answer from three days ago.
@TheLethalCarrot Did I forget to menntion I don’t count the movie one either?

@RDFozz You'll be waiting forever I doubt they'll ever get finished

3:40 PM
Good luck with that! Maybe pick up some new dishes too!

@Jenayah Don’t get the wrong thing this time.

Well I mean there's two trains of thought at the moment: 1) they'll never get done 2) he'll release them when S8 finishes

You saw the reference to Sanderson, right? The guy who finished Robert Jordan's epic when he died.
Wheel of Time! Blanked on the name for a second.

Oh I'm not familiar with WoT so went over my head haha

It's why the rabid fans get upset when they see GRRM doing anything else. They're afraid he'll shuffle off this mortal coil without finishing.

The Art of Computer Programming (sometimes known by its initials TAOCP) is a comprehensive monograph written by Donald Knuth that covers many kinds of programming algorithms and their analysis. Knuth began the project, originally conceived as a single book with twelve chapters, in 1962. The first three volumes of what was then expected to be a seven-volume set were published in 1968, 1969, and 1973. The first published installment of Volume 4 appeared in paperback as Fascicle 2 in 2005. The hardback Volume 4A, combining Volume 4, Fascicles 0–4, was published in 2011. Volume 4, Fascicle 6 ("...

Q: SF Novel 2016 or 2017. Spaceship mission, time travel

HotscotI recall reading about a new sf book published in the last couple of years. I seem to remember that it maybe involved the discovery of a spaceship and that there was a time travel element. I believe I read about it on i09 first but I can't locate it.

@SQB I guess Martin at least has the advantage of writing about a world he created, rather than one that moves forward even when he's not writing about it. I'd have to think there's more stuff to write about today than there was in, say, 1982.

SQB
Knuth is writing about the basic principles. Those haven't changed much.
Still, he needs to finish it.

@Alex I admit, I voted to close it (if for no other reason than I'm pretty sure that same question was asked recently, without much change), then I read your answer, and voted to reopen. @Alex That was really bad math.
Or, rather, it was me thinking that a Gold Badge requires 400 answers instead of 200 answers.

7:12 PM
@Alex which is consistent, when talking about JKR.

@Jenayah Yeah, I was going to say that I've posted enough on Harry Potter questions involving numbers that it must have rubbed off on me.
But I realized that it wasn't actually math in this case.
I think I was confusing the number of answers necessary for a Gold Badge with the number of answers I posted on Mi Yodeya.

@Jenayah Can't say I know enough about Whiskey.
Though I may ask a question soon on alcohol.stackexchange.com

@Alex I know it's made out of some plant and the older is suppsoedly the better

@Jenayah Whisky or whiskey is a type of distilled alcoholic beverage made from fermented grain mash. Various grains (which may be malted) are used for different varieties, including barley, corn (maize), rye, and wheat. Whisky is typically aged in wooden casks, generally made of charred white oak.

Beer in Belgium varies from pale lager to amber ales, lambic beers, Flemish red ales, sour brown ales, strong ales and stouts. In 2016, there were approximately 224 active breweries in Belgium, including international companies, such as AB InBev, and traditional breweries including Trappist monasteries. On average, Belgians drink 84 litres of beer each year, down from around 200 each year in 1900. Most beers are bought or served in bottles, rather than cans, and almost every beer has its own branded, sometimes uniquely shaped, glass. In 2016, UNESCO inscribed Belgian beer culture on their list...
Originally, brewed by monks.

Trappist has to be brewed by Trappist monks, in a Trappist abbey.
The rules are less strict for other abbey beers.
