Question for the room. Did anyone manage to watch the new Blade Runner movie? Without spoilers... does it deserve to be seen? Metacritics/Rotten so far seem to be filled with good reviews... but some of them do indeed seem a little on the fake side.
Rey had hunted for Luke Skywalker's location very hard, and has eventually found him. It seems clear from the answers to Why did Rey hand out Luke his blue lightsaber even if he had a green one after Episode V? that Rey wants to ask something from Luke.
What sort of help does Rey want from Luke...

I posted a question not well received by the community. I know that downvotes are not rude, I received comments recommendations and edited the question to improve it and don´t intend to argue to reopen it, as the question is troubled.
But, with that out of the way, I flagged this answer:

@Randal'Thor Volume 1 of the Malloreon servers toys (for someone reason, Volume 2 was delivered a week earlier although I ordered them simultaneously. I’m having a conflict of interests. Probably will go with Malloreon first because I‘ve just finished the Belgariad and start WoT soon
@Sekhemty the legality of my source is dubious at best and hasn't printed past C for the Nomenclature, I go pick up my books in mid october (next weekend) so will update for hornblower then.
@Narusan I added the featured tag; will create a chat event once the details are worked out.
I think @Gallifreyan and @doppelgreener have organised some of the recent movie nights; they should know about the shared streaming stuff and how to sort it all out.
Great! I have about 3 hours to figure out a way to share the movie :P. YouTube only shows me the German version, and even if I don’t have a google account and you need a spare mobile phone number in Germany now because of anti-terrorism laws and so on....
Semi-legal is basically read as illegal. Any free stream on the internet is illegal, and I'm not sure how legal it is to buy one copy and distribute it via watch2gether.com. But I don't really want us to get into trouble because of that...
Maybe someone with access to YouTube movies (and the right language) can purchase the movie for us. We could send a little thank-you-card (the cost of shipping far outmatching the price of the movie).
@Gallifreyan Which service worked with YouTube movies again? Watch2gether or the other one?
@Randal'Thor Details are basically that we’ll try to pause every now and then to get people catch up, chat here and start at 11PM GMT with the link Gallifreyan provided. I’ll repost that link a few minutes earlier. Is there anything else I haven’t thought of yet that needs to be clarified before? Oh, and I’ll try to write a Meta recap, but I’m very busy over the weekend so that might take a bit. If anyone else is keen ondoing that, they can go ahead, the more recent the better.
@Gallifreyan Cat herding?! That’s just impossible. How would one herd cats? Let’s hope it is more like cattle herding, so it actually becomes manageable.
@Narusan @Narusan The last couple of movie events I hosted, I rented the movie off youtube for something like £4. I used Rabb.it to browse to Youtube afterwards, signed in, and grabbed the link from the browser where I'd made the purchase and headed to that youtube video.
There's also the option of someone who has fast enough 'net streaming something like Netflix from their Chrome browser. I could do that nowadays since I recently got fiber installed, but I'm dealing with some periodic connection glitches I need to get sorted out, so I'm not sure I wouldn't suddenly drop out for a minute with extremely bad timing.
So apparently I can trick YouTube into believing I'm in the US, but then it asks for a US debit/credit card, which I don't have. And I can't add my card to my PayPal account (I don't know why), and the one I already added doesn't work because PayPal no longer works in my country.
I see. Well, I’m using PGP for my mails, so the NSA is on my back anyway, don’t need conspirator email addresses. Answer now that you need a valid phone number - which is linked to your ID - there’s nothing like pricacy anymore here....
