Q: Can the Starfleet standard of memory be converted to bytes?

Captain J.L PicardDuring the modern Star Treks (relative to the timeline, e.g mid 24th century onwards, especially in Voyager), memory capacity is measured in 'quads,' 'kiloquads,' 'megaquads,' 'gigaquads' etc, but there is no standard among these that can be followed and used as a real system. For example, when t...

SQB "This is Aztec gold. One of 882 identical pieces they delivered in a stone chest to Cortés himself." Is there any significance to that number, 882? Either in universe, or out of it.

@Babelfish is there any reason to think that there is?

@SQB but why would there be a significance? What makes you think there might be one?
Why do you want to know if there is one? Is there a significance to the other numbers in the work? I'm just trying to figure out why you might think that there is one, I'm not saying it's a bad question or anything.

@Mithrandir probably, but perhaps one of the writers really got into old Aztec numerical systems.
Or maybe it was the house number of the director when he was a kid.
I like that kind of trivia.

Okay, so originally I made a proposal and didn't see any previous proposals which had been made. Then, someone brought them to my attention, and I looked at them.
I revised my proposal. Turns out that it is indeed a duplicate of the one — however, that same one has been marked as a duplicate of a proposal of which mine is certainly not a duplicate.
If C ≠ B = A, then does C = A or C ≠ A?
Just to be clear: I'm not asking for upvotes or anything. I'm just perplexed.
It seems like it's a general attitude towards having any kind of separate votes, which is what the three questions want. The company doesn't want to implement different voting system for any kinds of tags, in any shape or form. That's my understanding, at least.
That's helpful. I guess I was thinking that there was some flaw in my logic.
I.e. it has nothing to do with your rationale for proposing different types of votes - they don't wan't to do it in any case (to which I subscribe).
