Q: Would becoming an animagus help keep a maledictus from becoming their animal forever?

Mila JohnsonSo an animagus basically can turn into an animal at will. There is no such thing as an accidental animagus because of the long process. Becoming a maledictus is strictly through genetics and is a blood curse where one will be permanently changed into an animal. My understanding is that this happe...

Q: Did Hermione use Love Potion on Viktor Krum?

I' RobotRita Skeeter wrote in her Witch Weekly article (Goblet of Fire, Chapter 27): Miss Granger, a plain but ambitious girl, seems to have a taste for famous wizards that Harry alone cannot satisfy. Since the arrival at Hogwarts of Viktor Krum, Bulgaria Seeker and hero of the last World Quidditch Cup,...

Next door is a school for boys...

Q: What weapon is black widow using in the final battle of Avengers: Infinity War?

chcukDuring a rewatch of Avengers: Infinity War I noticed Black Widow seemed to be using a staff during the final battle sequence. The design of the staff looks very similar to the asgardian berserker staff discovered by the Agents of SHIELD during episode 1.8 The Well. My question is, is she using...

Q: I need help finding this book! It was one of my favorites

MadysonI’m looking for this book I read a few years ago. I don’t remember much but I remember reading it in middle school so I believe it would be in the more advanced part of a childrens section of the library. It goes like this; this boy ran away from after discovering he had super human abilities and...

Q: Where does Bronn come from?

Rand al'ThorSimple question: where was the mercenary Bronn born and raised? In the TV series Game of Thrones, he speaks with a northern English accent, suggesting he comes from the North. But is there any more solid evidence for his origins, either in the books or the TV series?

@Randal'Thor I feel like the more highly upvoted question should have that infor in it, but I don't know if it's conclusive?
If I was disguising where I was from and somebody guessed wrongly, you betcha I'm going to act like I was caught out
"Oh, ASR's from Nova Scotia?"
"uh... It's a boot time somebody guessed that, eh?"
Except clearly Bronn is better at that than I
(apologies for everybody for having to witness my poor accent)

@AncientSwordRage Mooz's answer is definitely good and upvote-worthy, and he's well within his rights to stick to book canon in his answer and leave show info to a separate answer.
It's a case where one answer is upvote-worthy while the other is accept-worthy. I can even understand why people would upvote Mooz's answer more than Travis's, it's had more work go into it, but Travis's still has the definitive (for some values of definitive) answer.

@Randal'Thor I don't think I would have accepted either... But I feel knowing the context of arguing for/against pinning upvotes may have biased me
Mooz's answer has more information, which is more widely applicable
Maybe?

Q: Which mythological characters were based on the Eternals?

David KMany of the Eternals have names that are very similar to classic mythological characters. This is even called out and explained directly for a couple of them: Thena was the Greek goddess Athena, and to annoy Ikaris, Sprite made up the story of Icarus from Greek mythology who flew to close to the ...

Q: Why is Makkari deaf and mute?

Philippe B.I was talking to a friend about the fact that Makkari is mute and deaf in Eternals. We were throwing theories like "She lost hearing because she runs fast" or "Like humans, Eternals can be born with handicaps, since they are both created by Celestials" (at least in the comics). I can't remember a...

Q: What happened to the people trapped in the past?

SkoobaTime travel in the The Tomorrow War has two premises: Time only flows in one direction. It's like a river. The Jumplink placed two rafts on that river thirty years apart. Now, we can jump back and forth between them, but both rafts will always keep moving forward. [Charlie] Have you notice...

Q: What sign language does Makkari use?

ThePopMachineThere are a few facets to this question: What sign language is shown in the Eternals film (is it actually ASL, BSL, etc)? If it is an actual real-world sign language, are we supposed to infer that the real-world development of the sign language was influenced by the Eternals? Or are we suppose...

Q: (Novel?) story identification - a child gets control over the colors of sunrise and makes a mess of it

Michael StachowskyWe read a chapter from this in grade school, but never the whole novel (or novella or something). Here is all I can remember: There was a character who could prop himself up in mid air. He slept this way one night I am pretty sure there was a character named "Alex" Alex may have been the perso...

Q: Comic with a symbiotic spaceman who meets a robot inhabited by Hitler's brain

GinasiusA comic book probably of European origin from the late 1970s or early 1980s. The symbiote is a man with a small limpet-shaped node onto his cerebral cortex. This node is sentient and communicates with the man telepathically. There were several adventures in the comic, but I only remember the last...
