4:00 PM
I haven't done that since 11th grade.. so 4+ years ago lol (And I didn't get an option so sorry if you actually like it, I was not a fan)

the Journal commemorating results that cannot (or should not) be reproduced

So @n_palum are you defending?

Sid
@LeakyNun this game is supremely addictive. Be careful! :P

I can do it in like 5 minutes or so - but if people want a game immediately, I can pass the baton off

I'm fine to wait

4:01 PM
Who wants to do it?

o/
Did a game just end?

i'll wait

@Phoenix yes. I defended IRREPREHENSIBLE.

Are you sere that's a word?

4:01 PM
@Phoenix yeah but if u wait five mins @n_palum will start a new one

@Phoenix Yup, but it's an unusual enough word that I was able to successfully deduce one of @LeakyNun's hobbies from the fact that he used it.

Be back in 5 or so then

@GarethMcCaughan I'm still amazed by this.

When new one starts - please be aware of the norms (especially considering there are quite a few players in the room right now)

Language tells much more than it means.

4:03 PM
@LeakyNun (I'm feeling a bit smug about it myself :-) )

@n_palum what do you mean?

@GarethMcCaughan Oh? What is it?

should we have some rules on how many clues can be posted at any one time?
like, I don't know, 6 or 7?

Rule: Don't be a dick
We'll be fine

@Phoenix Choral singing. (Because while "irreprehensible" is a very unusual word, there's a very famous piece of choral music with the Latin word "irreprehensibilis" in it.)

4:04 PM
@Phoenix read from here

I think trying to have an actual rule involving actual counting would be more hassle than it's worth. "Don't be a dick" should in principle be enough but it's not always instantly obvious to everyone what is annoying to others.

22 hours ago, by Rubio
"Don't be a jerk." I think that summarizes it nicely. Moving on.

Sid
How do you define that rule? We need to have an objective definition.

Do we?

4:06 PM
1. Don't use unnecessarily long numbers. 2. Don't have too many active clues at once. 3. Don't post a new clue if the defender just passed and is waiting on the contact.

So. 1. Don't have so many active clues that they start dropping off the star-board. 2. Be aware that there may be lots of people trying to play, so filling the star-board with your own clues may be rude. 3. Try to use the prevailing conventions (clues get small unique numbers and are starred, contacts say what clue they're for, ...) to minimize confusion.

2 mins ago, by Beastly Gerbil
should we have some rules on how many clues can be posted at any one time?
this is a nice suggestion.

I'll repeat what has been said before -

I don't think we should have a rule.

Don't post more than one when a new letter just appeared
Don't post more than 2 if the room is full, unless the game has stagnated

4:07 PM
Maybe just say try not to post more than 7 clues at one time

(this is per person)

2 per person seems fair.

and Don't post so many in aggregate that they start falling off.

@BeastlyGerbil I wasn't looking for rules, just the tips/trends/norms that have now been listed quite a few times.

Those are guidelines, not rules, but unless you know why you're breaking one - don't.

4:08 PM
That being said.

I should have used a different clue. 5 is too easy.

@BeastlyGerbil It's fair to give anything you think other attackers might guess and the defender doesn't have a hopeless disadvantage on

ok mines fair

Unless you mean that your word is the synonym and not actually a C word

already have a 2

Too much @_@

4:17 PM
I thought it was obvious, but then I made it :P

6 - CHUNKY?

@n_palum not CHUNKY

It was basically a mini rebus

@BeastlyGerbil I thought _ was a blank

I think everyone thought the underscore was a blank.

4:17 PM
A clue of Foo ___ strongly implies a fill-in-the-blank answer, so iron cat doesn't work at all

maybe | would be better

15 - CUTTER?

oh yeah I proably should have done | or - instead

No

What is contacted.

4:18 PM

you can also move messages, but I don't think you really need that ability

ROs can add ROs, yes.
Most of what you can do is pretty unimpressive though really
