@Emrakul You've forced my hand Emrakul... I won't stand idly by and listen to such biased and one-sided rhetoric. If elected, I will stand for all puzzlers; those that stomp small animals and those that choose to stomp larger animals.

@Alconja I. How could you? Gasps. Affronted look. Intense political posturing.

@Emrakul You deserve a vote!!

Does anyone know how the number of moderators is chosen? I've noticed a few people say that their time commitment is limited. Would it be conceivable to have 4 or 5 moderators, some of whom have less time to commit? It seems to me that (within reason) more moderators would be better than fewer.

@GentlePurpleRain I was wondering this as well. Maybe in the next phase it'll be clearer how many we're electing?

@DanRussell The nomination page clearly states right now that there will be 3. "Moderator positions available: 3".

Missed that, thanks.

So, @Deusovi, what size of animals would you stomp, were you elected moderator?

I take the controversial position that animal-stomping is generally a bad thing.

@GentlePurpleRain Not the ultimate authority, but 3 is usually the number picked to start out with. I'm not sure this needs to be worried about a whole lot, though; if the new mod team finds they're overloaded, they can always ask for another mod.

I m new here... So, how does this process actually work??
Some guys have just nominated themselves... So, what next??

5:01 PM
@Sid After the nomination period is over (3 more days), we advance to a primary (if there are more than 30 candidates) or straight to the election otherwise, where all Puzzling.SE members can vote on the candidates.
I believe the candidates are presented with a series of questions to answer, which are curated from this list: meta.puzzling.stackexchange.com/questions/5058
