Does anyone know how the number of moderators is chosen? I've noticed a few people say that their time commitment is limited. Would it be conceivable to have 4 or 5 moderators, some of whom have less time to commit? It seems to me that (within reason) more moderators would be better than fewer.
I take the controversial position that animal-stomping is generally a bad thing.

@GentlePurpleRain Not the ultimate authority, but 3 is usually the number picked to start out with. I'm not sure this needs to be worried about a whole lot, though; if the new mod team finds they're overloaded, they can always ask for another mod.
@Sid After the nomination period is over (3 more days), we advance to a primary (if there are more than 30 candidates) or straight to the election otherwise, where all Puzzling.SE members can vote on the candidates.
