Q: How to create a PDF presentation for each available Beamer theme automatically?

Garbage CollectorRather than changing the theme by hand and compiling it for each available theme, is there an easier way to do so such that I can get a PDF presentation for each available theme automatically?

I could write an interactive answer using arara, but the rule won't be semantically correct. The "right" code would be the one used for the upcoming 3.x series. :)
12:31 AM
@PauloCereda: That is a great idea. Atleast for version 3.x you should implement it.
@HarishKumar I will. :) Brent suggested another list iterator called @{items}, so we can have % arara: createbeamer: { items: [ Rochester, CambridgeUS, Boadilla, Warsaw, AnnArbor ] }, with the rule pointing to pdflatex \def\mytheme{@{item}}\input{@{file}}. :)
Untested! :P
@PauloCereda aren't you supposed to populate the list by looking at the filesystem beamertheme* ? (don't mention cricket)
@PauloCereda: When is the next interview?
Bonus: with % arara: createbeamer: { items: [ Rochester, ... ], files: [ myfile1.tex, ... ] }, we have a cartesian product. :)
@DavidCarlisle Am I? :) Oops, back to the design. :)
@HarishKumar We still need one victm. :)
@PauloCereda: You can have many Martin Scharrer, Stefan Kottwitz, Hertbert, Heiko, Joseph, Ulrike... The list is big. It seems you have to net one of them fast.
@PauloCereda: Createbeamer idea is good. Love to have it with arara.
12:48 AM
@HarishKumar I'm thinking of @JosephWright for the next interview. And then @Audrey. :)
@HarishKumar I'll try to write a nice rule for it. :)
@PauloCereda: Waiting eagerly for the date..... ;)
@PauloCereda: Please let me know when the rule is ready. I think it will be an awesome addition.
@HarishKumar I'll do my best, I promise. :)
Harish leaves for a moment
@HarishKumar Sure! :) We will probably have a test phase (RC code - release candidate) before releasing the GA version (generaly available). I'll keep you informed. :)
1:07 AM
@PauloCereda: Thanks. Very nice of you. Ah! I have a Brazilian also in that victim list to propose. ;)

8:20 AM
@PauloCereda Where's your version?
@DavidCarlisle Hi! I noticed there's a conflict between the memoir class and longtable
@Costi Is there? Example?
I am trying to figure out. My dissertation was in a report class up to now. I just changed the class into memoir and I am trying to see what the differences are.
@JosephWright if you have any suggestions I'd be glad to listen. I can see there are the chapter titles in the headers
@Costi What I mean is 'Can you provide an example showing longtable not working with memoir?'
8:38 AM
And also the appendices don't work right
I am going to provide an example
@JosephWright the risk of MWE is that you remove everything and the document starts working.
@JosephWright there must be something in my (full version) preamble that prevents the document to be compiled appropriately
@Costi That isn't really a risk, is it? Either the problem is solved immediately or you can describe precisely where the conflict lies.
8:55 AM
@StephanLehmke I deleted all the details in my preamble that would not make it a MINIMAL working example, and the example worked. Now I need to add back everything manually and try to find out the problem myself. I was writing here looking for help, though, and not to have to find the solution myself. You see what I mean?
@Costi The problem is that there is no 'general incompatibility', so we can't say 'oh, this is a known issue'
@JosephWright actually I have just found out: the problem is definitely not with the longtable but with the appendix
I have \usepackage[toc,page]{appendix}
! LaTeX Error: Option clash for package appendix.
9:26 AM
@Costi ?

Q: Revival badges awarded for two answers to the same question

lockstepThe description of the Revival badge ("Answered more than 30 days later as first answer scoring 2 or more") indicates that -- contrary to the Necromancer badge -- only one answer to a specific question may earn the badge. However, at tex.sx, Revival badges have been awarded to the answers of user...

user19161
Sorry for bumping my questions. I am just trying to retag them the way I deem best. I'll continue with them tomorrow since I have used up my max today!
@DavidCarlisle sorry, no problem with my longtables, it was a mistake
@Costi It's a general rule that any problems with any of my packages is always user error.

Good morning to everybody! Is it bad style to answer one's own question? It sometimes happens to me that after a while and inspired by answers of other people I find a good answer to my own question (and prefer it to the other answers). In that case, if just for the sake of completeness, I think I should provide this answer! Is this OK or does it not comply with the Q&A conventions?
user19161
9:36 AM
@lpdbw It is not bad but at least wait a while.
user19161
The idea is to make this a good Q and A site so you can definitely answer your own questions.
user19161
But let others have a chance to answer too!
@DavidCarlisle you are the best, and I mean it. Thank you for your work and sorry for being so naive
@Jasper Loy: Sorry, what's the point in waiting? I mean, if I post my answer as soon as it came to me this is only to save other user's time ...
user19161
@lpdbw Hmm OK then. But I think the system may have some restriction on the minimum time, I don't know. You can try and see.
9:43 AM
@lpdbw There is a minimal time you have to wait, but self-answers are fine. For example, occasionally it's useful to post a question you know the answer to, so you can post a clear question and answer.
@Joseph: I am not sure whether this will happen very often. In fact, I don't know too many answers :-D
@JosephWright I don't think there's a minimum time constraint. If you ask a new question, you can add the answer on the same page (after checking the "Answer your Own Question" tick box). Maybe there are time restrictions for low-rep users, though?
Actually, I have never earned any upvotes for my own answers so far, so I don't think they are too valuable for the community ;-)
@Jake There certainly used to be a time restriction: perhaps the Powers That Be have altered this
@JosephWright Seems that users with less than 100 rep have to wait eight hours. With 100 rep, you earn the "Edit community questions" privilege, which also allows immediate self-answers.
10:03 AM
@MarcoDaniel Still in my mind. :) I need to implement it first.
Hi @Paulo !
@HarishKumar Uh-oh. :)
Hi @tohecz, how are you? :)
I'm just checking the pianos
I'm not much fine, the tempreratures here are around 39C (103F)
Wow, too hot. :(
I got a terrible headache
10:08 AM
@JosephWright, @cgnieder: congrats, guys! :)
so I didn't sleep well, I took Aspirin and overslept an important meeting :(
@PauloCereda Thanks, I think :-)
@tohecz: Oh. :( I always have headaches with extreme changes in temperature. :(
(btw, a meeting where out university publishing house will confirm that they want me to be a journal graphical editor)
@JosephWright speech, speech, speech, speech!
10:10 AM
but the meeting will be in 1 hour so it's gonna be ok I think
@tohecz oooh how nice! :)
I just looked at the pianos
the Yamaha seems fine, it has the good functions I expect from a good Yamaha
@PauloCereda Now is the winter of our discontent turned glorius summer by this sun of York ...
10:12 AM
@JosephWright LOL
(especially Graded Hammer, which you don't recognize until you play a piano with no GH)
I heard about the GH before, people say it's amazing.
But I'm not sure if I ever played one with.
I believe it is the thing that makes Yamaha feel more realistic than other brands
Hm interesting. To be honest, I was impressed with Roland's Super Natural.
(I'm not sure this is the name they call it)
I don't know how Roland works
With Yamaha, the trick is that the more left the key is, the weighter it is
10:15 AM
Neither do I. My Roland is very old, so it doesn't have this SN feature.:(
oooh!
The only thing that worries me is the output power: 2x 6W
Hm I didn't pay attention to that.
The Korg was the one that impressed me the least. :)
sorry, I'll have to look at the others later, I have to go in 10 minutes for the meeting
so cross your fingers xD
hehe :)
@tohecz: don't worry my friend. :) Thanks a lot for your analysis, I'll probably get the Yamaha one (when I get some money :P ). :)
yeah money, it is never important, it is only the 1st most important thing
10:25 AM
:P
we have a nice saying about it in Czech, but I'm unable to translate it to English
ok, I leave, good bye everybody for now!
@tohecz: Good bye, my friend! Have a nice day! :)
10:46 AM
@PauloCereda Thanks ... :)
@cgnieder speech, speech, speech, speech, speech! :)
@PauloCereda With a help of a second tex-file it's very easy. I am at work with Windows and without TeX :-( but in the evening I will try something.
@MarcoDaniel A machine without TeX?! Is that even possible?! :)
@PauloCereda In my nightmares ;-)
@MarcoDaniel: It's not difficult to implement a beamer matrix with arara as it is, but I think it won't be semantically correct, since I was going to exploit @{file} to act as a theme selector. :P For the next release, we will have @{item}, so things will be easier. :)
@MarcoDaniel LOL
10:51 AM
@PauloCereda Why every simple flag is possible
identifier: theme
flag: '@{value}'
@MarcoDaniel Ah yes. :) But I was hoping a more lazier idea. :P

Q: How to create glossary entry with link to glossary and appearance in footnote?

Timo PaschkeI want each "first-time-used" glossary entry to appear in the footnote with its description and each "used" entry (the short term) being linked to the entry with its description in the glossary. I achieved the first point, but the second one is not always working properly. I have to "play" w...

@MarcoDaniel After all, today is pre-ante-eve of Friday. :)
@MarcoDaniel Oh is that a stuffed squid? :P
Voted, btw. :)
@PauloCereda Indeed -- party
@MarcoDaniel Agreed, based on last comment
10:56 AM
Party!
Wait for the GEMA thing to strike again. :P
@PauloCereda they did it...
@PatrickGundlach Oh. :(
... meaning that google and the GEMA didn't agree on money
Oh no! :(
Something involving a hat.
<3
@PatrickGundlach Some years ago, a famous actress in Brazil had some, well, 'naughty' video posted on YouTube and a court judge decided to censor YouTube in Brazil. Our internet backbones had the YouTube DNS removed and the website was totally off for 3 days, until another judge decided to put YouTube back.

Q: pgfplots: How to add a second tick scale for the same axis?

TimWhen plotting large values with pgfplots a common factor (e.g. 10^6) is shown on top of the axis. Is it possible to add a second factor behind this, so that the new label there is for example "*10^6 / *10^8"? I know how I can change parameters (like the position) using every y tick scale label/....

1:28 PM
@PatrickGundlach This seems very common in Germany.
2:31 PM
@JasperLoy Yes, very often I see this. I really don't know who to blame for that. If youtube doesn't have the rights, it must not play the video. The problem is that the music industry (represented through the GEMA) is trying to make money from everything it can (even from kindergartens photocopying children's songs for own use) and that makes a lot of people so angry that the GEMA is the (in their minds) the devil himself.

@JG not really used but we made nag.co.uk/numeric/R/r-package

@DavidCarlisle I just want to know how to get started. I have some R code I'd like to run on a windows machine. I have the code in one directory on my computer. How do I get R into that directory? What do I type in the R prompt to execute the code (a .R file)
typing help usually worked for me
sorry I have changed machines since don't have it immediately available but as I recall there was a menu option to load functions from a file, then the function was available to be used at the command prompt

@DavidCarlisle Ok, I figured out how to change directories. Now how do I run an .R code

3:24 PM
@DavidCarlisle Thanks. though I cannot get this to work: R CMD BATCH /<full-path>/coda_scrp.r
@PauloCereda I didn't know they played cricket
@DavidCarlisle Do they? Man, you guys have to take me to watch a cricket game! :)
@PauloCereda I've never been to watch cricket (you have to be able to drink a lot of beer I think to want to sit at the edge of a field all day)
@DavidCarlisle I don't drink, and I've been once or twice. You need to remember to take a book, unless you are involved. (I occasionally score for our work team)
@JosephWright, @DavidCarlisle: Yay, we are going to a cricket game! Do they sell those giant #1 gloves? :)
3:28 PM
@JosephWright when @PauloCereda organises TUG in Brazil we should go here brasilcricket.org/en
@DavidCarlisle :-)
Suddenly I'm interested in cricket. :)
@DavidCarlisle Yay, a cricket game! :D
@PauloCereda Oh no, coloured tops
@JosephWright Oh no, is that a problem? :)
@PauloCereda Depends on your point of view. The authorities are very keen on having 'team colours', etc., to promote the game 'to a wider audience'. The more traditionalist follower/player prefers the idea that everyone wears whites.
@PauloCereda You don't need different colours for the two teams to make the game work
3:32 PM
@JosephWright Oh. I need to learn the rules. :)
@PauloCereda This will be fun
@PauloCereda Do you know for example baseball at all?
@JosephWright I'm looking for a "Cricket for dummies" book. :)
Anyone here? My freind was wondering what the typography geeks had to say about his presentation
@Canageek there was nothing about cricket in it
@JosephWright ahm... no. :) I think I almost understood [american] football and rugby, but the only baseball I know is from Super Mario Sluggers. I don't think it's in the rules to be able to throw a turtle shell at the guy with the bat. :P
3:37 PM
opps. forgot the picture
@PauloCereda one bloke throws the ball at three sticks, if it hits them the bloke with the bat is out and the next person from his side comes out to the wicket,until al have had a go. If not the bloke with the bat tries to hit the ball away and run backwards and forwards until the ball is returned. side with most runs after 5 days wins.
@DavidCarlisle There you go
@DavidCarlisle Notes: 1) There are meal breaks; 2) Ball is essentially made of wood; 3) Ball travels at up to 100 mph
@Canageek Scheme is horribly looking: what is up with subscripts for example
@DavidCarlisle ooh it sounds suspiciously familiar! :) I've played the "backyard cricket" (the Portuguese name has nothing to do with cricket at all - we call it taco or bets ), that one I know. :)
Today I helped editing a word document: right aligned text by inserting spaces, hyphenation with explicit "-" and other interesting stuff.
3:41 PM
@Canageek I'd prefer a light theme. :) Preferably one with a white background, so the picture doesn't jump from the presentation. :) And that font... well, I'm not a fan. :)
@JosephWright I hadn't even noticed that.
@Canageek I don't know Chemistry but the subscripts appear all over the place H_3C has a big 3 not very low but K_2 C)_3 has small superscripst way below the baseline and H_2O the 2 almost bumps in the text below
@JosephWright Meal breaks?! I'm in! :D
Oh crud, part of that is my fault when I cropped the image
Here is mine, let me retake that screenshot
@JosephWright Apprently that is how ChemSketch does subscripts
@DavidCarlisle Seems that is the program, I may have made it worse by streching the image, I reuploaded it.
@Canageek Quite possibly. I think I mentioned I use ChemDraw ;-)
3:48 PM
@JosephWright I did mine in ChemDraw based on your and some other peoples advice
@Canageek It shows :-)
@JosephWright Thanks. He'd not used either before, so did it in ChemSketch since it is a lot easier to learn.
@Canageek I think your friend's choice of a serif font does them no favours: the really do not work for overheads. Also, I agree about the dark background not being a good plan: these work poorly on a projector
The frame number also looks out: it's very small compared with the rest of the text, and so far into the corner it might 'fall off' depending on the projector set up.

@DavidCarlisle No PowerShell? :P
@DavidCarlisle I suspect I could do the same on Windows using the Command Prompt, but it would take a little while to come up with the correct code :-(
@MarcoDaniel Because I couldn't access the values for the left and right inner margins for the definition of the extra lines to avoid adding 20pt manually. Of course you know how to access those values :-)
Now I've undeleted it.
4:59 PM
Hi @Paulo ! Can you please name the three pianos again? I cannot find it in the logs.
@JosephWright Yeah, I should make mine larger.
You know, TeX log is always long and talkative.
Hi @tohecz! :) How was the meeting? :)
Fine, thanks for asking!
The pianos are: Roland RP 301, Yamaha YDP 161 and Korg LP 350. :)
5:01 PM
@JosephWright Huh, I've always found it much easier to read light on dark text. Will look into light next time though. If I had Beamer themes in powerpoint I'd use light.
It really went well and it seems I have some nice and reasonable money for it.
Btw, do you live in an appartment or in a house?
@DavidCarlisle I tried setting up zsh, but unlike ubuntu the defaults didn't work :(
@GonzaloMedina You can use:
\gdef\Sepline{%
  \par\noindent\makebox[\linewidth][l]{%
  \hspace*{-\mdflength{innerleftmargin}}%
   \tikz\draw[thick,dashed,gray!60] (0,0) --%

  }\par\nobreak}
@PauloCereda Is there a new piano package in CTAN?
@GonzaloMedina I wish. :)
5:02 PM
@DavidCarlisle cygwin :-)
@GonzaloMedina Do you want such? I believe we can make some with @Paulo :)
@MarcoDaniel Ah, of course. I'll edit the answer. Thank you very much.
@MarcoDaniel Yeah, that is what I use. Wish I could get zsh working in it.
@Canageek Good question. I installed cygwin some years ago on my old windows machine ;-)
@MarcoDaniel The user accepted my undeleted answer, so I owe you some rep. points!
5:08 PM
@GonzaloMedina And @PauloCereda: some beer ;-) -- No problem. I am happy to see my package in usage ;-)
@MarcoDaniel ein bierhaus! :D

@PauloCereda Trying not to upset @DavidCarlisle using the German word?
@Canageek Traditional slides works quite well with white-on-black, but as they have 'true' black this works well. Modern projectors are not good at solid dark colours.
@GonzaloMedina Indeed :P Una gran cantidad de patos! :)
@PauloCereda What are the prices of the Yamaha and Roland there?
5:12 PM
@PauloCereda LOL
@tohecz The difference is not big. Rolland is $200 more expensive. :)
Well, me personally, I'd go for the Yamaha and invest the $200 into good headphones :)
I just played some youtube videos of both
@tohecz ooh interesting. :) I was seduced by the "superNatural" propaganda, but only by that. :D
the Roland seem a bit "electronic" in the low tones (it sounds a bit like electric bass guitar)
@tohecz Oh that's bad news (I love low tones).
5:15 PM
Yamaha's GH should be fine too, even though it is not the most modern GH3
but still, that is just my impression
@PauloCereda por lo que leo, ¡veo que has hecho grandes progresos en español!
from a video that someone played on the piano, then recorded it, compressed to youtube, and I played it at my (not so good) computer into my headphones

Sorry to ask again but are there any R users?
well, I leave it up to you. I believe that you'll be content with any intstrument from a good brand at this price

Nobody makes maps?
@tohecz: Now you convinced me! :) I've never paid attention to the lower tones, but now I'm feeling exactly what you mentioned. :) The Yamaha seems more beautiful too, and a good headphone is also in my plans. :)
5:22 PM
@GonzaloMedina Oh thanks, I'm trying to learn from a traveler's guide, but there's a lot for me to understand. :) I'm ok with reading and listening to, but composing sentences is still complicated. :) I still need to figure out how to \rotatebox{180}{!}. :)
I have tried two headphones in the store (they let me play some piano and try both). One was KOSS (really good brand) and the other was this Yamaha. And the choice was more than obvious.
@PauloCereda lol
@tohecz They look cool. :) Now I need to find out if any stores sell them around here. :P
@PauloCereda just to be sure: You speak Portuguese and you discuss Spanish?
@PauloCereda well, shipping of such thing as headphones would be worth it I think
@tohecz Yes, I'm a [Brazilian] Portuguese speaker. :) And I'm trying to learn Spanish. :)
Actually, I was thinking which phones to pack with me for my long stays in Paris, and I think that these won
5:26 PM
@tohecz Maybe I could bring that piano in my backpack when I visit Europe. :D
or come to Prague when I'm here and you can play my CP-50 :)
@tohecz <3
Ich hätte gern eine Tragetastche.
Oops wrong sentence. :P
I don't speak German, so whatever :P
@tohecz Neither do I. :P
@tohecz: now I need to get rid of my "real" piano first, then get the digital one. :)
And it is wrong?
5:31 PM
The sentence? I got something random from my German guide. :P
no, I mean the old piano
@PauloCereda The sentence is correct
@MarcoDaniel Oh, it's something about bags, I guess. :P
@PauloCereda Correct. You want a bag ;-)
@tohecz oh sorry. :) Well, the old piano is giving me headaches because of its age. Strings are breaking, the mechanism is very old... at the end of the day, I'll have to spend too much money on something that I could get rid of and invest the money on something more modern and easy to maintain. :)
@MarcoDaniel Woohoo!
:P
5:36 PM
@PauloCereda Never marry to an old person!
@GonzaloMedina If you were a piano. :)
Don't try to put words into my mouth! :P
@PauloCereda Yeah, I get it
I just hate the fact that everybody gets an electronic piano
(but well, I have one, so I cannot say this too loudly)
albeit I have an up-right piano at mz parents' apartment
@tohecz I'd love to keep my old piano, but the costs are really high at the moment. :(
yeah, every piano is good unlit some "break point". At that point, you have to either think of it as an antigue and invest money into it, or get rid of it.
@tohecz Indeed. :)
@GonzaloMedina: Can one find tacos in Colombia too? I'd love to try one. :)
6:00 PM
@PauloCereda In Mexican restaurants ;-) Our equivalent (to some extent) are empanadas.
@GonzaloMedina ooh empanadas! Me wantee!
:)
@PauloCereda Come visiting!
@GonzaloMedina Hopefully next year. :)
@PauloCereda Really? Some congress in Colombia?
Btw, my first package: chkfloats. Yay!

6:05 PM
@JosephWright I don't suppose you know of chem naming software that will do 4 coordinate boron? ACD 10 doesn't.
@GonzaloMedina I'm hunting a conference there, so it's an excuse to visit you. :) First Latin America, then Europe. :)
@tohecz Yay, congrats! :)
@Canageek Give me a second to check
And it goes here obviously:

Q: Which questions led to the creation of a new package?

doncherryTeX.sx occasionally inspires people to be ingeniously creative and write cool packages. Let's have a list of all the CTAN packages that originated in a question on TeX.sx. I suggest a single CW answer for starters, listing the packages alphabetically, following this pattern: babyloniannum by R...

@Canageek MarvinSketch seems to manage, at least with the simple case of [BPh4]
@Canageek Marvin is used by Reaxys as it's editor, but you can download it and get an academic license for local use
@JosephWright Will look into it. Mine doesn't like carbines, 4 coordinate boron, or coordination bonds, and really doesn't like it when I mix these things into heterocycles.
6:09 PM
@PauloCereda And what topic specifically would be of interest for you?
@Canageek All of the free auto-systems are limited, I think. I suspect the CAS have something very clever and very expensive!
@JosephWright This is the paid version of ACD. The free version won't even get that far, is sees the number of carbons or the number of fused rings and stops
Also, is the n in n-buytl lithium italic?
@Canageek Ah right
@GonzaloMedina Anything CS-related is acceptable. :)
@Canageek Depends on the publisher :-) I would make it italic if using italic for t-Bu/s-Bu, etc.

Q: what is the best package for making a math poster?

AnandI am going to make a poster. I find that there are several possibilities: e.g., beamerposter, a0poster, baposter. Does anyone know which is the best one to make a math poster? Thanks a lot!

@cmhughes surely a dupe
@tohecz I think so too- didn't want to vote to close too early though....
especially after "Thanks cmbughes. :-)"
Mr. cm**b**ughes :P
have voted to close
I'm off to bed. I'll try to catch more sleep than yesterday :(
Well, @Paulo, have a nice shopping!
7:16 PM
@GonzaloMedina but I (and my friend google) are fluent in German
I have totally missed @PauloCereda 's cute duck chapter introduction!
I hope there is a package on ctan soon!

I have a feeling that this is not a regular answer:
1
A: Font and Style considerations for business reporting

Keks DoseThe design of business documents depends heavily on the country. In North America you should use masses of capital letters for the headlines, in Europe people seem to like headlines in bold print and so on. So what you have to do is to find out some characteristical attributes of business docume...

(I know that the question is close to not being a regular question, but that does not excuse bad answers.)
Do you think it should be converted to a comment?
Hi everyone!
My first time in the chat here...
I have a question concerning common practice on TeX.sx in the following case: I found a question that exactly describes my current problem. The only answer it got is no solution for me (and also was not for the OP).
Should I start a new question or add a comment to the old question or a comment to the old answer?
@boothby81 Welcome
@boothby81 Hi!
Hello Patrick!
@boothby81 I'd ask a new question with a link to the old question and explaining why it didn't work for you.
7:50 PM
@cmhughes I voted too, so we closed it with 3 votes. It's the same, except that the OP means math, but this makes no difference.
should read: "... why the answer doesn't work for you."
@boothby81 Well, I'd oppose to @Patrick: You should bring attention to the old one if your problem is exactly the same as the orignial problem
but Patrick is right that making a second question and explaining the difficulties might work too
@tohecz What would be the best way for a low-rep user to bring attention to a question?
@tohecz Hehe, two answers, two opinions ;)
... bounty doesn't work in this case...
7:53 PM
Yeah I know, bounty is a problem for a newcomer
@boothby81 I agree with @tohecz, but you might have a hard time bringing enough attention to the old question
@PatrickGundlach Bounty is the correct way, and it should not be too hard to earn the rep for it.
Which question is it?
user19161
@PatrickGundlach Well, for one, he can come to chat and talk about it.
(@JasperLoy Just said the other thing I was going to say!)
7:54 PM
Well, I think you can start a new one. Even if it gets closed, you bring the attention to the problem. (But don't tell the mods I've advised you this ...)
user19161
@StefanKottwitz But 50 points is quite hard to earn! Of course, not for you!
@tohecz The mods are normally not in the chat, so they won't see this here ;-)
@JasperLoy It's hard to earn by answers, today, that's true! But it's easy by posting one more more good questions. Even if one has to think, what he may be interested in.
user19161
@PatrickGundlach Actually, they are in chat half the time...
7:58 PM
And by the way, if your new question is much better than the previous one (I mean, you can post a priview etc.), it can be agreed that the old one gets closed. But I'm not the one to decide which one gets closed.
Okay, so I'll start a new question, of course referencing the old one. Let's see what happens.
user19161
@tohecz Often I feel that older questions could be closed as duplicate of newer ones if the newer ones are much more well-written, form a proper superset of the older ones, and the older ones don't have good answers.
already created the preview.
