@Zanna So we must have an amount of late answers that were recommended deletion but weren't actually handled at all. Thanks to Natty many of them were handled eventually, but not every single one of them. Perhaps we need a SEDE query to find them and flag/delete them.
I don't know if the tables have been updated to include new review options
That queue doesn't get much traffic, so it might be easier to go through the Late Answers history and check posts where Recommend Deletion was selected
Regarding the suggestion that the posts should stay in the Late Answers queue after a deletion vote is cast and get voted there, this could be problematic. People gain access to the LA queue at 500 rep, while the access to LQP, which until now is the one that offers the deletion option, is gained at 2000 rep. I don't think that it would be a good idea low rep users to have the ability to delete posts.
I'll make a post on our meta asking people to flag if they want to delete because the option doesn't do anything
@BeastOfCaerbannog I think it's a terrible idea... it makes no sense for the post to stay in the queue if and only if it gets a Recommend Deletion vote - most would never make it out
Just a quick PSA here - thanks to BeastOfCaerbannog I've realised that the new Recommend Deletion option in the Late Answers queue completes the review and gives you the option to leave the canned comments from the Low Quality Posts queue, but otherwise does absolutely nothing.
If you encounter a...
@Zanna I don't know if I have the time to do that today. If you want, you may post that yourself, if it's not much trouble for you (no credits needed), or I will do that tomorrow or the day after that.
I've been through the first 6 pages of the Late Answers review history
remaining to check from November 5th at 15:31 to August 26th
I am wondering if there is a certain evil genius behind the idea of making the Recommend Deletion button do nothing
of all the posts I reviewed, 3 had not been deleted, but should have been
about 50% should have been deleted and had been deleted
most users are actually flagging before recommending deletion
two prolific reviewers are not
and... the vast majority of their "Recommend Deletion" selections are unjustified - I mean the post is actually an answer and should not be deleted
this is the case for like 40% of everything I looked at
it was good that I did this because - I cleaned up a LOT of wrong "this should be a comment" type comments - I made a lot of edits - I found a couple of answers that had been deleted and should not have been deleted
so, so far, in terms of deletion, almost everything that should have been done has been done - i.e., posts that should be deleted were flagged and deleted, and posts that should not have been deleted have not been deleted
those two prolific reviewers used to flag a lot of posts wrongly. We have been getting fewer bad flags!
@Algnis this answer isn't a link only answer. Maybe it was edited in the grace period - but it actually does have the key information from the link
