@Natty tp
@Zanna ?

you commented that it should have been a comment

When it was posted it was not an answer ! It was just a comment telling about the typo

it was an answer then

@Zanna but when I commented it wasn't an answer

it was
this is probably the most important post on Ask Ubuntu Meta:

Q: Please stop posting half answers and dumb advice as comments

Jorge CastroOk so I've spent a few days doing hardcore cleaning and we have a problem with comments and people misusing them. People who are too lazy to write a real answer so they write a half finished one that doesn't work or is just some commands out of context. This hurts the site because they're usua...

@Algnis yes, if the typo is the cause of the problem

Hmmmm...... It looks like I need to look the question again
Oh ! So the problem was that he/she added 1386 architecture instead of i386
My mistake sorry !

yes, that seems to be the case... they must have added the architecture 1386 to get those errors
@Algnis no worries :)

Hey ! I am happy that the script that run to cross out serial voting , didn't find mine

hahah maybe it wasn't serial voting then

@BeastOfCaerbannog are you sure that the First Questions queue has a Recommend deletion option?
In Late Answers I have a Delete option but in First Questions I don't
First Answers has no items so I can't check
I'll check on U&L

@Zanna Perhaps I'm wrong about that. It has "Share feedback".

in U&L I don't see a Recommend deletion option in either of the First queues, and there aren't any Late Answers to review
@BeastOfCaerbannog yeah... my favourite hahaha

so, could it be that that option only appear in Late Answers?
I ask because I'm writing a post about it on MSE

It is possible that I didn't pay much attention to these queues and thought "Share feedback" was "Recommend deletion"
I'm probably stupid.

10:55 AM
I think there is such an option in the Late Answers queue though

@Zanna It seems so
It's definitely in Late Answers

okay, cool

Sorry about that
I found an item in First Answers. It has Share feedback
I don't know how I confused that

@Natty tp

11:02 AM
@BeastOfCaerbannog it's okay, the queues all look the same!
it's still bad in Late Answers

Hi

Q: Remove the "recommend deletion" option from Late Answers queues on smaller sites

ZannaSomeone pointed out to me that at least some users see a Recommend deletion option in the Late Answers queue. We determined that selecting this option sends the post to the Low Quality Posts queue if it is not already there. We are not sure whether the vote counts towards deletion the way that vo...

Hello @Zanna So should I post that issue releated to trackers (I am confused/doubt that people with laugh at me or I will get a bunch of downvotes saying that it is the policy of site ! I don't wana lose the rep!) Can you tell me that is there any site policy regarding trackers ? Is it like something already there ? Maybe it is my fault (I use only se sites in brave) ... I am told both trackers and ads at once so maybe instead of trackers more advertisements are there ? Can you please help me ?

do you have any rep on MSE?

101

oh haha of course

Association bonus

if you draft your post I will be happy to help you with it

11:52 AM
How ?

I'm busy right now - I'll be back in about 1 hour

How Can I draft the post

try writing the post in a text editor and post your efforts here

Ok

@Zanna Thanks for the post!

thanks for pointing out the problem... apparently it's even worse than I thought - the recommend deletion option basically does nothing

Title: Why are there so many trackers on SE (especially Ask ubuntu)

Body: I recently downloaded the [brave](https://github.com/brave/brave-browser) browser (on my android tablet) , It has a really nice feature of blocking advertisements and trackers (if any) .

while I was checking my weekly stats with brave browser , I found that there are 6K + trackers/ads

isn't that something to concern about ?

Why it is showing so many trackers ?

Note - I don't use any other site with brave except Ask ubuntu, all other sites are opened on Google itself.
:59617989 Please suggest changes

@Zanna Yeah, I read that. Totally useless and misleading option.
@Algnis You should direct it more towards SE. I mean this part: "while I was checking my weekly stats with brave browser , I found that there are 6K + trackers/ads "
It's pretty generic
Something like this would be more directed: "While I was checking my weekly stats with brave browser, I found that it has blocked <total_number> trackers/ads, <number> of which are found in Ask Ubuntu, which I mainly use."

Ok did the changes , Thanks

While I was checking my weekly stats with brave browser, I found that it has blocked 6K+ trackers/ads, 4k+ (I use ask ubuntu more frequently then any other se site) of which are found in Ask Ubuntu, which I mainly use.

You may also fix the punctuation. A space is needed only after punctuation (commas, full stops, etc.), not before.
An also every sentence should start with a capital letter

For more research I reinstalled brave browser to check how many trackers/ads are there for specific ask ubuntu site it showed 150(almost) in just 2 days !

The above are the AU trackers I see with uBlock Origin
Feel free to use this screenshot if you wish

@BeastOfCaerbannog I don't understand this ? How many trackers is this showing ?

9
Not sure what kind of trackers these are though, and if they are indeed trackers

This is only for 1 day

12:38 PM
Only pagead2.googlesyndication.com and www.google-analytics.com seem to be non-related to AU

Or probably it is only for 2 hours

@Algnis The number 385 you see is the accumulated number of trackers. That means that every time you reload a page, the number of trackers is added to the previous. It's not that AU has 385 active trackers

I know that ...

@BeastOfCaerbannog but even for 2 hours is having (even total) 156 total trackers good ?

It depends. How many times did you reload the page in these two hours?

On my main account I have 6K + trackers only for 1 week and 4k for SE sites
@BeastOfCaerbannog Not much
Maybe 6 to 7 times (I didn't reload but I did open and close it 6 to 7 times) Also note : I have like 2 - 3 tabs opened for ask ubuntu

12:45 PM
By the title of this metric, it seems that it also counts the ads it blocks

Ya , But ask ubuntu isn't filled with too many adds ... Right ?

Also, I suppose that every time you open a post, the number of trackers is added to the sum

But (So many) trackers are even there ? (it is more then any other site)

@Natty tp

12:50 PM
@BeastOfCaerbannog yes... it could be related to the typical browsing pattern on a site like AU... one tends to briefly visit a large number of pages. Perhaps the same trackers are counted every time

I don't think they are too many. Most of them are related to SE, at least as it's shown in uBlock.
