@EliahKagan I think this is another recent misuse of the custom off-topic flag. There's a reason the system does not allow us to close a question as a duplicate without specifying a target. If it should be closed on the grounds that it is a duplicate, then it should be closed as a duplicate.
not POB, and I am starting to wonder what people think POB means
also not POB, but at least that one was (so far) only flagged as POB, not VTC'd as such
@EliahKagan My objection to the answer is that it's misleading because the real problem with snaps is that they are often buggy, not the theming, so I voted to delete it.
Duplicates (of the same question): https://askubuntu.com/questions/1183113/laptop-not-responding-and-overheating-in-bag https://askubuntu.com/questions/1178522/battery-overheating-and-drain-while-suspended
@EliahKagan If a user re-posts their question, I prefer to use the custom off-topic reason and write "I'm voting to close this question as it was re-posted", because the system is very unwilling to delete duplicates, but such questions should usually be deleted
often, the original question is bad and should be closed for some other reason
it gets deleted, rightly, but the re-post survives because 1) it has at least 2 comments saying "please don't re-post your question" "please edit your original question rather that posting a new version with additional info" etc and 2) its score did not become negative because people were unwilling to downvote it
@Natty tp - though borderline, it is a question asking for software recommendations (but the answer author is saying that it didn't really do what they needed, and there was no explanation)
I can't think of a reason to reopen this. IMO the duplicate targets answers the question pretty well and I don't think Graham's comment makes sense. Should it be reopened?
@EliahKagan Sorry I don't exactly remember the question. All I can see is the review and question not found. As of now I don't have access to moderator tools, thus can't cast undelete vote.
But I think undeleting and posting a CW answer is never a bad idea
These days, when I log into AU, I am still logged out of chat and all the other SE sites where I have accounts. Logging in to another SE site like Unix & Linux logs me into chat. Logging out of AU logs me out of everything.
