@TheDestroyer I think the question asker looked our conversations we did yesterday about Gods not wanting liberation... he has written.. "That said, in effect, that the gods don't want man to discover his true nature because if they did, men would become the very self of the gods.Does anyone recognize this?"... haha
@KeshavSrinivasan I just checked my Ista Deva from other site and it is Shiva. Even an astrologer told me to me to Shiva Temples as my Ista Deva is Shiva some 4 years ago when i was not interested in these things.
@KeshavSrinivasan Yes. That site has some problem.
@Tezz OK, but even if my Atma Karaka is Mercury, how do I determine the Ishta Devata from that? It says "look for the 12th house from Atmakarka in Navamsha chart"
@Tezz Here is my Navamsha chart:
@Tezz What does "12th house from Atmakarka in Navamsha chart" mean?
@KeshavSrinivasan haha yes... anyway... you have Vishnu as your Ishta Devata... Hanuman Ishta means Rama as Supreme... who is Incarnation of Vishnu... so finally you will get Vishnu as Ishta Devata...
@TheDestroyer you should start from Atmakaaraka... you will reach just back of the same planet...
@KeshavSrinivasan there are two main systems of Vedic astrology... one Jaimini system and another Parashar system... they differ in some points... I don't know whether they differ in calculating Ishta or not...
@KeshavSrinivasan I don't know whether it's in Parashara Hora Shastra or not... any way but it has some basis on scripture... as Kundali described in Balakanda of Ramayana itself... and planets ruling by different Gods described in Yajurveda itself...
@TheDestroyer it's based on ruling nature of planets and planet swabhva... like Mars has Kumara and Nrisimha... Kumara is Agni Putra and Nrisimha is Ugra Deva...
@TheDestroyer in case of Sun... Shivas Ishana form is in Sun.. he also controls sun, he even killed Sun... regarding Vishnu Sun came from neck of Vishnu....
@Tezz Yes, certainly the notion of gods ruling over planets is well-established throughout the Vedas and other Hindu scripture. But does the notion your Ishta Devata is based on the planetary positions of your birth have a basis in scripture?
@KeshavSrinivasan I'm not sure whether it is explicitly mentioned... but I think we can derive concepts even if it is not mentioned...
@TheDestroyer I don't Know about Rama... if we go by Puranic account Shiva will be his Ishta Devata... but Rameshwaram is not explicitly mentioned in ValmikiRamayana...
@TheDestroyer regarding Krishna,... he says this in Anushashana Parva "O king, listen to me as I recite to thee that Sata-rudriya which I repeat; with restrained senses, every morning after rising from bed. The great lord of all creatures, viz., the Grandsire Brahman himself, endued with wealth of penances, composed those Mantras, after having observed especial penances for some time."...
@TheDestroyer I think in one comment moonstar2001 calculated Shiva as Ishta Devata...
@TheDestroyer we have Kundali of Rama and Krishna... but calculating Navamasha is not a easy task... Navamsha changes every 13 minutes...
@TheDestroyer if your calculation is right then Sun is your Jeevan Muktakaarka... so it may have connection... anyway worshipping Sun is worshipping Ishana form of Shiva as evident from Satapatha Brahmana... 1st Anuvaka of Sri Rudram also clearly says Sun is Rudra...
@Tezz I just generated someone else's birth chart, and the planet with the highest degree is listed as "ascendant" meaning Lagna. Can Lagna be the Atmakaraka or does the Atmakaraka need to be an actual planet?
@KeshavSrinivasan that would make Saturn and Rahu in 12th from Navamsa...
@KeshavSrinivasan but I'm pretty sure Navamsa of Krishna is wrong... calculating 5000 years past Navamsa is nearly impossible..... due to precission of equinoxes...
@KeshavSrinivasan it's not to be divided by 12 but by 30...
@KeshavSrinivasan oh ... you are dividing in Navamsha chart...
@KeshavSrinivasan anyway... it's foolishness to calculate JeevamMukta kaaraka of such person... who is himself a cause to give Jeevan Mukta to others...
@KeshavSrinivasan one notable astronomical event is Rama was afflicted by Mars during his Vanavasa... and Rama is Manglik... with Mars in 7th position ie . In Dampatya Sthana...
@KeshavSrinivasan we can at least rule out Shanidev, Hanuman from there... why would Krishna make his Ishtadevata Shani and Hanuman...
@Tezz I think Krishna is beyond this Kundali. He knows He is God. Also, i think planets could never affect him even if we consider Him from neutral perspective (Not a Shaiva or Vaishnava view).
@Tezz Wait a minute, it looks like that website itself analyzes Krishna's birth chart. It says Atmakaraka is Sun and Mokshakaraka is Ketu. I didn't know there's a difference between Atmakaraka and Mokshakaraka.
@TheDestroyer another notable astronomical event is.. Dasharatha Kundalini was surrounded by Mars in his Dasha.. and I think Vasistha predicted it is death symptom... so he made immediate decision to give King ship to Rama..
But anyway he died... he couldn't escape by doing that...
I don't know whether this is mentioned in ValmikiRamayana or not...
@Tezz So if Sun is the Atmakaraka, then the 12th house from the Atmakaraka would be the 5th house, which is empty.
@Tezz Here's what you do if it's empty: "If no planet occupies this house then look for the planet aspecting the house. If no planet aspects the house then lord of the house will be used for knowing Isht Devta."
@Tezz What does "planet aspecting the house" mean?
It gives you 48 page kundali report to download in pdf....
It gives you upto D-60 chart... just as Navamsa or D-9 chart changes in 13 minutes... D-60 changes in seconds... they are useful in predicting future of twins....
@Pandya yes I think it answers the question: The main point ( I think) is in:
"Just as a bird tied by a string to the hand of the bird—catcher first flies in every direction and then finding no rest anywhere, settles down at the place where it is bound, so also the mind (i.e. the individual soul reflected in the mind), my dear, after flying in every direction and finding no rest anywhere, settles down in the Prana (i.e. Pure Being); for the mind (the individual soul) is fastened to the Prana (Pure Being).
@Pandya I don't want to purchase... free version are actually avaliable why to purchase... actually I know how to prepare Kundali without using Software also... ie. by handwork ie. traditional calculation too...
Sampatik kala, Sthanik kala, Samaya Samskara, then Isht Sampattik kala and 23-30 Lagna Sarani for Lagna/Janam Kundli. Then Avakahada Chakra for Mahadasha.
@Pandya yes, first time I made my Kundali... I didn't have software... latter I checked it in software and it exactly matched... I was very happy when I saw it matched...
@Pandya oh so... you also know to prepare without software...?
@Pandya No I'm not professional... but people family neighbours ask with me many times about jyotish related things.... just learned by reading and practicing...
As I discuss in this question, one of the early movements that was important to the development of Vaishnavism was the ancient Pancharatra movement, whose sacred texts consisted of detailed procedures to worship the sage Narayana, an ancient incarnation of Vishnu. The Pancharatra movement eventu...
@KeshavSrinivasan oh... it gives a complex method... Maybe @Pandya knows it to make it....
@KeshavSrinivasan anyway I don't believe that someone calculated Navamsa of Krishna... at least we can prepare Kundali because we have verses from scripture....
Otherwise there is a cycle causing precission of equinoxes of 25600 years (around) which causes polar star to change... so it causes significant difference in 5000 years....
@KeshavSrinivasan it is possible but as Navamasa is a highly sensitive data... ie. It changes just in 13 minutes... so highly precise equipments are needed...
@KeshavSrinivasan another method is by evaluating whole life activity of Krishna.. a technique known as Time Rectification....
Do we have any account of the afterlives of Vasudeva, Devaki, Nandagopa and Yashoda? I generally hear about Nandagopa and Yashoda's last incident to be while they were being separated from Krishna, i.e. Krishna going to Mathura. About Vasudeva and Devaki, the last thing I heard was that they were...
@Brahma jijnasa I'm saying if it's not quoted by Acharya before 1300 AD it's fake... I'm just saying "From that information or dating of Wiki we know that no Acharya before 1300 AD quoted it."... Regarding language matter... it doesn't matter whether one accepts ot not... but you yourself can find difference when you read scripture in Sanskrit... – Tezz 10 mins ago delete
@KeshavSrinivasan edit that comment and place not... ie. Make "I'm not saying..."
@KrishnShweta and semiconductor chapter is the most boring chapter in the whole physics book for me... but I like other physics chapters related to electrooics like AC, and others...
@TheDestroyer for no special reason... they used to pickpocket... if someone caught they used to throw children in road and run... they kidnapped those childrens...
@Tezz That's big mafia. All those beggars kidnap infants and put them on their laps or carry them by giving sedative drugs so that babies never cry. This mafia earns crores daily. Kali Yuga is such that and we can't blame kali Dharma also. This is Karma of all of us.
@KrishnShweta Lol. No need. This is what i do if i miss my sleeping times are improper.. Get up early at 5:30 one day and don't sleep the entire day. You will get sleep by 11:00 PM.
