20 or 10 rak3a
when maghrib comes around, i'm usually satisfied with something to drink. the thirst gets me a lot more than the hunger.
@pckabeer I don't think they are strictly 'needed'. It's only obligatory to respond I thnk
we have 8 , 20 here
@goldPseudo I know how that feels!
00:00
yeah but i think he meant with 2 sunnah
10 or 20 in tunisia

@Splinky dont even joke about that
i'm not joking but palestine is just gaza
@NesreenA sorry but it is the truth
@Pureferret but should it be banned
what about the west bank
@pckabeer Different sites have different rules, but rules about greetings goes for every single site on the network. I think that is because when you add greetings questions looks like engaded in conversation. SE is strictly focused on ask-answer no conversation policy.
00:04
@pckabeer why do you say that?
@Pureferret becase that was the way i got a warning yesterday
gaza is the only palastinen place is 100% free
from israel
@pckabeer Oh, sorry, I misread what you said
I thought you said "You should be banned"
apologies
np dear :)
I think it should be discouraged. I don't think we need to do more than they do on other sites
I need to sleep soon/now or else I'll be tired at work
00:06
but i think it should be encouraged
subhanAllah
all i know is i have never see an isreli pass through our town, we are under palestinian president, we own the land under our feet, im palestinian, so the land i own is palestine

@NesreenA ok
people think its hazerdous here but it really isnt
the only "war" going on is if you try to go to isreli territories
then they hunt you like a dear
00:09
i'd love to visit one of these days if i can ever afford to leave the country.
pictures i've seen of the area look beautiful.

if you pay any tax a small portion will be sent to the government for education

A person on tv just said you can touch Qur'an without wudu :/

2 hours later…
02:54
i'm personally not convinced the evidence is strong enough to outright forbid touching qur'an without wudu.
(of course, i'm very critical about anyone who forbids anything.)
there's a hadith narrated by aisha, iirc, which forms the basis of the ruling.
@goldPseudo I have opened a question about it:
1
Q: Can Qur'an be touched without wudu?

yasar11732I was watching TV and a person who was being regarded as scholar said that It's ok to touch Qur'an without wudu.. He quoted an ayah, I guess it was this one; لَّا يَمَسُّهُ إِلَّا الْمُطَهَّرُونَ Surat Al-Wāqi`ah - 79 translated by Sahih International as; None touch it except the purif...

it's a good question. i'm looking forward to good answers.
sunnah.com/urn/404701 <-- not the hadith i was thinking of at all, but this seems to be where the prohibition originates.
It is important to understand what does يَمَسَّ and طَاهِرٌ means literally.
If they can be used for pure-heartedness or real cleanness.
It would make issue clear.
Also, is that hadith considered sahih?
03:13
honestly not sure. it seems to be accepted by at least three of the major schools though.
related hadith, also worth considering: sunnah.com/bukhari/5#35
It is not exactly about touching Qur'an though.
no, but it does imply that a believer is always "pure", even without wudu.
What I understood from that hadith is, whenever a Muslim is unpure, s/he should do wudu as quickly as possible, because a (ideal) Muslim is always pure
i can see it being read either way. i don't know arabic well enough to know which interpretation is the stronger.
Yes, you are right.

@oshirowanen I added the hadiths about this topic. I can say it is ready now. goldPseudo: And I have just made it even longer... :) — Ahmed Han 2 hours ago
This is a good answer, although it's a bit too long for my tastes. Rather than quoting so many entire ayat, in both Arabic and English, it may be better to briefly quote one (or part of one) that perfectly describes the point you're making in each section, and leaving the rest as links. — goldPseudo 5 hours ago
buuuurrn
with a smile on top :)
21:46
well, "too long" is subjective. some people prefer concise answers, some people prefer extensive detail.
which side prevails, that's pretty much up to the community to decide.
might be worth a meta, but i'm in no hurry. the (too) long detailed answers are still preferable to a lot of the unsubstantiated one-paragraph things we'd been getting.
@goldPseudo Very treu
