@NesreenA Yes, I am confused too. But the fact that it is accepted by majority suggest that it's true IMO. Because, even with slightest doubtfull matters cause different rulings on different madhabs. But this issue is like universally accepted.

you know what i think about his answer, he says there are no hadiths that say you cannot directly touch the mushaff without being on wuduu

but then again, why would there be hadiths when there was no mushaff

You are right on that. But the idea of "You can't touch" has to come from somewhere.

he also pointed out a story about umars sister when he became a muslim that she told him to do wuduu, and he said there was no definition of wuduu untill later

but, she actually said take a shower, which was present much before islam

showering is a method to remove any impurities, it may be equal to wudu
