What's the purpose of having red shirts on the bridge other than a better response to boarding parties? Would you ever staff them in the bridge instead of one of the gun rooms?
Likewise, is there ever a reason to put extra engineers in the engine room instead of the dodge room?
Inugami, a character in the Vendettas campaign has an ability called "Kusanagi's Wrath", described as "gives a short-lived invincibility after performing an execution".
How long, exactly, does this "short-lived invincibility" last?
@kalina As much as I'm a "don't wake me up before the sun appeared" person, for greater good waking up at any time of day or night sounds like a normal thing to do. Assuming you consider murdering innocent fish a greater good, like I do.
Memorial Day is a United States federal holiday which occurs every year on the final Monday of May. Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Formerly known as Decoration Day, it originated after the American Civil War to commemorate the Union and Confederate soldiers who died in the Civil War. By the 20th century Memorial Day had been extended to honor all Americans who have died in all wars. It typically marks the start of the summer vacation season, while Labor Day marks its end.
Many people visit cemeteries and ...
It's a 3 day weekend, and is generally regarded as the ceremonial beginning of 'summer'
Memorial day weekend is a coveted target weekend for blockbuster movie releases, a weekend to hold cookouts and parties, and often the weekend when beaches, pools, and amusement parks open for the summer.
@LessPop_MoreFizz Or, if they're evil, and hate their employees, they open a month earlier, so us old people have to work while the kids are still in school >.>
And I was PERSONALLY DISRESPECTING THE TROOPS AND THEIR SERVICE AND MY FREEDOM WHICH THEY FOUGHT FOR by not giving them an iPod for half price on memorial day.
@kalina I operate under, "If the customer treats you like shit, you get everything in writing, do only exactly what you're asked to do, and watch as everything goes to shit because the customer is an idiot."
@OrigamiRobot any customer that has ever been all high and mighty with me has been talked down with excessive quantities of sarcasm and baiting until they explode a huge mass of temper and look like an idiot in front of the whole world
and in this job, I don't have to deal with customers but I occasionally do to save the less technically competent people from having rings run around them
My mantra when I need to yell at customer service people is "I know it's not your fault, but it is now your problem, and I'm not mad at you, but I am very mad, so help me."
@Unionhawk lol I've had this one, from both the customer AND upper management after I had abused the customer
getting pulled into an office and threatened with disciplinary action is HILARIOUS when you're in the right
in my second job some random phoned up for support for an FTP server "we hosted"
(second job was a bespoke software company)
didn't appear in any system so I told him to stop wasting my time and hung up
the managing director pulled me into his office and yelled at me, and I shouted him down with "do you want me to help every random who phones up? Because I can do that but it would not be very cost effective for you or your business. If you wanted this guy to be supported you should maintain your systems so that he shows up when he calls through. This isn't my fault, it's yours. This is bad management."
so he threatened to fire me, and I laughed at him and told him if he did I'd ruin his life for dismissing me without reason
@kalina Niiiice... Management people are normally on my side. I mean, I've gotten one tiny little safety violation for accidentally leaving a gate open, and they weren't happy with me then, but normally, I'm right, and they know I'm right.
Honestly, by the time it gets to real management, they're not concerned with me, more, concerned with buying the guest's kids ice cream to make it up to them and to get them to leave.
@kalina Suddenly I've decided that my right to understand is best left unexercised here so that I don't have to bog you with yet another ringing of the clue bell
I want to check out a game but when I view it from Steam, it says:
"This item is currently unavailable in your region"
Is there a way to go around this limitation? Not simply by using a proxy to view the website but to actually get the game and play it?
It is basically the rampaging cartoon obsessed id of my 6 year old self, transported directly from 1989 to today and turned into what amounts to a AAA standalone DLC.
This turned against me when, long before I would learn I had this trait, I had my 6th grade science fair be "Let's test the acidity of apples!" because I just learned what Litmus Paper was and it was the COOLEST THING EVER.
I think i have setup all the basic stuff required for gaming:
direct3d acceleration, disabled DEP on all programs, etc.
but, some XP-compatible games are still crashing without showing any error:
Sonic Heroes
Billy Hatcher
... (others)
Is there any system policy that could block them?
Nobody has had a true Sonic experience unless it involves a folded up piece of paper wedged in the power switch and/or something under the power connection.
Sure, it has the usual problems, but in return, I can rock up to any computer, type in my username and password, and get my games on it, without having to carry disks.
Unlike most DRM, which takes your abilities (like still using the software after upgrading your hardware) away from you without giving you anything in return.
If I go solely by consoles, skipping handhelds, that I remember playing (as Atari, whilst I did play it, kinda predated me-me) NES -> Famicom -> SNES -> Genesis -> N64 -> Playstation 2 -> 360 -> Wii -> Playstation 3
@OrigamiRobot Then I guess I had a not-so-crummy Genesis.
@GraceNote Mine's easy, it's every major Sony and Nintendo console plus a Genesis, less the NES and certain mid-generation portables like the DSi and the non-pocket Gameboy
@OrigamiRobot Actually that was probably the second boss I ever reached, if I recall correctly.
@badp I can only definitively remember that I had a Power Rangers one. Then after that it's confusing what was actually ours and what we played at someone else's place (this is why I'm skipped listing the Playstation and Super Famicom, which our cousins had and we played quite a lot for the months of visits we went back there).
@Sconibulus The watch games I kinda classify in a major group of just watch games.
Since, betwixt them all, since each instance can only play a single game, it would be unbalanced to classify them individually as separate handheld systems, so to speak.
You still have things like those big "100 games!" devices meant to work as a calculator and a gaming platform and all kinds of things, that since they're using liquid crystal displays they are also non-color, I had one of those. Mostly only really played Lights Out on it, though.
Inspired by kotekzot's correction.
What is a term that encompasses both "saves" and "game files", as kotekzot sees it? How else would you define "game files" as kotekzot sees it as mutually exclusive? I can understand what is meant, but I can't think of a handy term.
I'm not sure whether this b...
@BenBrocka It's an abbreviation for a very common city name in the US, and more relevantly my second me-me place of residence.
It's pronounced "S P F L D".
One of those things that's longer to say in voice than to write in text, but I don't mind because after so many years working with that abbreviation for job numbers and office organization, it's kinda just how I say it when I don't say the name itself.
I've got roads leading out of three cardinal directions, a hall, 230 food and only 7 units. I also made my road intersect with my hall because I read that matters (picture below) but I'm still not getting any units migrating in. Is there anything I'm missing?
I really need to find Lucia (the orphan) and I can't find her anywhere. Can I teleport to her, or can she teleport to me? This would be very useful. And anyway, if you can't do that, where does she sleep at night? Because that's the reason why I want to teleport. Because I can't find where she is...
I've played through Fable, and I own Fable 3, but I want to know if the story will still make sense if I skip Fable 2. Do all three have one continuous story, are they completely separate, or something in between? Are there things I won't understand in Fable 3 if I don't play Fable 2?
Please avo...
In Borderlands, with the Game of the Year Edition, up to 69 skill points can be earned from a combination of levelling up, completing Claptrap's New Robot Revolution (DLC4), and completing the Underdome mission on both playthroughs. Is there a way to get more skill-points than from just those?
I've been looking for some good maps for Warcraft 3 to play with my wife and sometimes also a friend. What I'd like are some maps that focus primarily on leveling up a hero by adventuring around and killing monsters, rather than micro-managing an entire 'town'.
I have found a handful that would...
