My biggest complaint about clearing customs in Montreal when there's a connecting flight is that you have to go through security again.

@MBraedley Yep, I almost missed my flight to Houston because of this.

9:26 PM
@Yuuki wait, were you clearing Canadian customs before flying to Houston?

@MBraedley Yep.
Flight from Shanghai to Toronto -> went through customs -> got on connecting flight to Houston -> went through customs again.

Ave
@Moacir I ended up releasing the thing I worked on today gitlab.com/ao/lam

@Yuuki so this was Toronto and not Montreal? Either way, you're doing U.S. pre-clearance, which means you have to go through security again.

We also weren't allowed to head to the gate until our luggage was loaded.

@Yuuki blame your border security for that.

9:32 PM
No, not board the plane, we weren't allowed to leave security until our luggage was loaded.

Ave
time to make a parody of the steam achievement manager seal
(which is homophobic-- parody will likely be "gay approved" or smth)

@Ave What now?

@Yuuki yeah, I've had that happen in Montreal flying Halifax to DC Reagan.

There's some major us airport that doesn't have customs at all so you go through customs on the departure side which is wild to me
Since my only international experience was in and out of Charlotte
(well, and also in Rome out Athens)
That was a fun trip because it was 2012 and we weren't certain our money would be valid lol

@Unionhawk that would be Reagan

9:36 PM
@MBraedley there might be more than one then because I had JFK or Dulles in mind for some reason
But it is possible that I am dumb
Domestic flights are nice though
Do you think Delta will serve me like a bloody mary in comfort+ on my 6am flight next month? No probably not? Ok fair and probably good
(comfort+ apparently gets free drinks)

@Unionhawk well most Canadian airports that fly to the US have pre-clearance
Do you go through U.S. customs in Canada at those airports.
There's also a number of European airports (and others) that have that.

@Yuuki Wait, what?
@Yuuki That seems reasonable

@MilkyWay90 Why? You're not stopping in Canada.

@Frank Oh yeah, I see now

Granted, I get pissed at the US doing this exact thing, too.

9:51 PM
I thought Yukki was annoyed at the US doing this

Back up are you italicizing his name for emphasis or are you indicating that he is a room owner in a message

I don't know who this @Yukki is.

@Yuuki @Yukki

@Unionhawk His name was italicized when he said a message

Ah yes, that's because I am one of several room owners.

9:53 PM
Ohh

Obviously a different person from @Yukki

I didn't know room owners could do that

It's not so much something that we can do as it is something that is done to us.

I thought he used some italicized Unicode characters or something like that

I can't toggle off italicization on my name unless I drop myself from the list of room owners.

9:54 PM
Blue:Frank
Ok I'm done

It's orange in PorkChat dark mode.

Yeah but I don't use porkchat dark mode

I use wharrgarbl in dark mode
also known as wawharrgarbl

I use the default

holy shit @Ash I'm sorry I missed your ACQUIREMENT PROCESS but I hope the HUSBAND GOT was everything you dreamt of and more

9:56 PM
What is your opinion on the game SuperHot?

@MilkyWay90 It's the most innovative shooter I've played in years.

@Yuuki Saame
I liked the story behind it
And the chat easter egg
I visited the chat before I beat SuperHot and then I visited it after

@Frank all incoming international flights to Montreal have to go through customs, and I think the same is true for Toronto. Maybe also true for Halifax, I've never actually cleared customs in Halifax.

@MBraedley I get they have to, but I don't really get why; it's a temporary stop. Nothing is sticking around.

My friend keeps calling Red Dead Redemption 2 Red Don Redemption 2

10:01 PM
I think you might have to go back through security in Halifax too if you have a connecting flight. Where you're connecting to though is a different story.

@badp its all good, friend! It was awesome and today we just did normal people errands and such and I made grilled cheese for dinner and life is good

😍

There's two French (well, Quebecois) guys next to me talking about BMX tricks, and the amount of English they're using is unsurprisingly high.

10:37 PM
@Ash I think I was in the air (or asleep) when this happened. All the best to you and World Engineer as you embark on your journey of not only being together, but also in close proximity.
Also, guys guys guys! I'm on a plane!
I'm going HOOOOOOOOOOME!

@MBraedley Cool!

Q: How did Junpei know Snake and Clover were abducted together?

F1KrazyI'm playing Nine Persons, Nine Hours, Nine Doors for the first time, and I'm confused. After Snake reads out the note describing the RED and DEAD systems, Junpei suddenly says something like "You and Clover were abducted from the same room, and woke up in the same room", and asks him why that is...

Q: The Second Playthrough

Andy YaoWhenever I play Undertale another time (anytime but the first run-through), after San's phone call, I can never get back to where I was because there is no save file. That means I can never go to go on a date with Papyrus, befriend Undyne, and go to the true lab. Also, I play on Switch. Can anyon...

The tennis racket theorem or intermediate axis theorem is a result in classical mechanics describing the movement of a rigid body with three distinct principal moments of inertia. It is also dubbed the Dzhanibekov effect, after Russian cosmonaut Vladimir Dzhanibekov who noticed one of the theorem's consequences while in space in 1985 although the effect was already known for at least 150 years before that and is well described in contemporary texts on classical mechanics that would have been known to Dzhanibekov. An article explaining the effect was published in 1991.The theorem describes the...
