Maybe. Apparently it was supposed to be a lead up to writing a function that would generate a bunch of nice tests for the function, kind of automated testing stuff.

but since I didn't get over that weird block in my thinking, we didn't get that far.

@Mana Yeah. That's why I ask. QE tend to lead it that way. Whereas an engineer would usually build the other way, leading to the testing after, and leave it as usually an out-loud thing rather than a written thing

I think it's a sign that I need to focus more on testing as a developer. It has been half a year since the last time I wrote tests for a personal project, so that's definitely a hole in my skillset.

Most developers I know aren't the best at testing. And most testers aren't great at writing high quality code. They are just different tasks. And being test oriented and thinking about how to approach your own code with testing in mind is fantastic and makes you a much better coder (imo), but isn't needed to write high quality code

@StrixVaria When I left work at 5 everyday, and went out to the bar. When I came back to work and passed by the Google offices at 730 or 8, most of the offices were still occupied

And from other Google employees, I hear a lot about working a lot. Enjoying it a whole lot. But definitely have heard balance is a bit tough

I'm only in the office for ~7.5-8 hours a day (including lunch) and my boss and at least one in another department are both really pushy about making sure that you get enough time off.

Maybe this is a new effort, but there's a huge emphasis on work-life balance from what I've seen.

That's really good. Because that was one of the things at Adobe. If I was there more than 8 hours, my boss would have just come in and unplugged my computer. Or invited us all out to go drink

I hear it a lot from Facebook, and I've heard it a bit from Google as well. But if that isn't true, then that is absolutely great

Hrm... living in not-here for a summer and not being employed, fed, and housed by the BSA would be a cool thing...

The basic rule of thumb with git is that you can do whatever the heck you want, but you don't really want to do more than you have to

@Yuuki your .gitignore should contain patterns that match all files you don't want in your repository. So if all of the files associated with that app are in the main directory and start with TestApp1., then yes, that is what you should add
