it's a comment; I'm asking about how to go about defining policy, not what that should be

@RavenDreamer as per your discussion of a discussion comment: Well it is META after all

What do Sci Fi and Lit do about their guessing game tags?

@BenBrocka Sci-fi allows them and it's why I don't use the sci-fi site.

user15026
Lit decided to accept them as valid questions if they have sufficient detail, last I knew.

Q: Reaching a decision on "Identify This Game" questions, phase 1

Nick TThis question drags on and on and on and on...what do we do with identify-this-game. So, in the theme of the last thing we kicked off the island, can we begin a process to reach a (more) final decision so we can lay this to rest? How should we go about reaching a decision? Can we start by ripp...

Q: How can I use the D-pad of my classic controller like the one on the Wii-Mote?

bitmaskI just bought a Classic Controller Pro for my Wii (mainly to play old (S)NES games on the emulator). However, I just thought it would be a great idea to try it out with SSBB. When I play SSBB I use the Wii-Mote without Nunchuck in the horizontal position, which allows me to control movement with ...

9:08 PM
Are you guys happy now. You closed my question.

huh, yeah someone says both sites accept them in the comments on that blog post now

@Pyrodante Heh.

@JuanManuel I still don't understand your "answer"

@BenBrocka Though, in theory, gaming also accepts then at the moment too... though it looks like we're changing that

Q: Do Costumes Affect Breast Physics?

GnomeSliceI've noticed that some of the female characters have two widely different costumes available. Do any of these different costumes have an impact on character breast-physics? The most obvious example would be Hilde who wears a suit of armor in her default costume, but not in her secondary costume...

Why. =[

9:11 PM
@NickT we don't need a post to make a post about deciding about something, let's use that one and be done with it
You should remove the "phase 1"

@JuanManuel OK...but that wasn't the purpose of that question

Why would you star that. :/

Why didn't you answer with that?

@GnomeSlice you get +1 from me for that question

@GnomeSlice a discussion on meta about whether a adult themed question is inappropriate might be nice. And save you a lot of pain.

9:13 PM
> Closed as 'not a real question'.

@BenBrocka Yes.

Someone explain this to me.

@Blem You are the devil.

@GnomeSlice Three reopen votes.

Do not support Gnome's inanity please.

9:13 PM
@Ullallulloo One of them is mine.

@GnomeSlice I feel that such questions are valid by the rules, however I think the problem you are running into is the fact that this is a "professional site" and the more you fight it without discussing it the worse it will be.

@StrixVaria Leave me alone!

@StrixVaria shhh, we dont talk about that in public!

@StrixVaria Who are we to criticize inanity?

As much as it pains me to say, there is no where I have found in the rule that breasts are a taboo topic. It is a real part of video games, why don't you ban all questions about SC because the developers INVENTED jiggle physics.
2

9:15 PM
@Pyrodante Fine. Open it. But don't upvote it. It's still a terrible ridiculous stupid question.

@Pyrodante flag ALL the boobs!

@GnomeSlice reopened by the community.

@StrixVaria So? These things matter to some people. It's not terribly important, but I tend to play games for the little details, and not for the overall game, which is why I end up spending hours and hours screwing around with dead big daddies in Bioshock, for example. These things matter to me.

@Strix Yeah down vote it fine, but there's no reason for it to be closed.

I did not vote either way. I am trying to express an opinion, not impose it

9:17 PM
Why are you upvoting it now!?

You do have a talent for asking questions which gets the community all worked up @GnomeSlice

@GnomeSlice You should go make a meta about that, so the question does not get and receive votes that are more of 'I think this question belongs here' vs it not instead of it being a solid/valid/useful question

Ah, I have a serious good SCV question, but I need to look at the game again before posting it to make sure I get my terms right.
@James That doesn't work either.

@Wipqozn It helps define the site.

@RonanForman I agree. @GnomeSlice is a hero in some ways.

9:19 PM
@GnomeSlice distinguishing your previous question from this new "serious" question is not helping your case in any way.

@Wipqozn ...
@Pyrodante You knew what I meant.

that would imply your jiggle physics question was not-serious

And now for a surprisingly civil and on topic discussion about breast physics

@GraceNote I'm confused about my question

@StrixVaria Agreed. It should be an open question. It just deserves a negative score.

9:20 PM
@GnomeSlice I am not saying it would clear things up.. But I do think all the chatter that it has brought up proves it should be in a meta question.

Don't close things when you should be downvoting them people.

@James I did that with the King's Bounty question.

Just because something is a terrible question from a terrible person, doesn't make it an off-topic question.
2

It did have a positive score, but only just.

It belongs on the site. It just deserves to get buried.

9:20 PM
@NickT You came across with two separate points - it seems people latched onto the one point.

Why do you people get so worked up about this.

@GraceNote I thought I was being clear in my original post about using the previous one as a model for this

Besides, I thought Soul Calibur was renowned for it's ridiculous female character design/physics.

@NickT People probably latched onto it without looking at that being the "How do we come to a decision" process but instead at "Let's make the decision" process.

the problem with the downvote/upvote war is that the person of the bad question usually wins the rep gain

9:22 PM
You guys... can you donate some of your flags to the countries in the world that need a refresh?

@GnomeSlice I always thought that was DoA's place :D

@LessPop_MoreFizz You are such a wiener.

My country for example, needs a new flag.

Downvotes lead to sympathetic upvotes which is a net gain

@GraceNote Should I just make a question for the latter? My answer to my question to that effect is getting all sorts of downvotes

9:23 PM
@GnomeSlice I can hear you struggling to restrain your language through the internet.

@LessPop_MoreFizz Wow, I can not believe people are *'ing something that calls another person in chat a terrible person.

A: Reaching a decision on "Identify This Game" questions, phase 1

Nick TSo as many people just want to move on with this, should I just open a question about it, make the following answers: Prohibit all ITG questions Allow ITG questions so long as they are well-defined (status quo) Official policy will then be the one with the most upvotes after however long?

@LessPop_MoreFizz ಠ_ಠ

@NickT I'm not sure how to match this proper, hum.

@James I would hope that he knows that I'm joking.

9:24 PM
@James Hang around here a little longer.

I do think he has a tendency to intermittently ask really terrible questions.

@GraceNote Are people just foaming at the mouth and fed up with all the bureaucracy?

@LessPop_MoreFizz I still wouldn't be surprised if it got flagged, lol

@LessPop_MoreFizz Yeah... I don't want to stagnate!

@NickT People are more fed up with how much discussion and how little "things getting done" are happening. And because it blew up in our faces last time.

9:24 PM
@NickT People are downvoting because you're essentially wasting a whole lot of time trying to talk about process and people don't want to bother talking about process anymore.

I will say this is probably the most legislated site I have seen on SE

@NickT honestly I think your ""answer just makes the post even more confusing

@Pyrodante PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT. Actually, yeah, I see that.

@GraceNote What blew up in (y)our face?

@Pyrodante OBJECTION!

9:25 PM
@OrigamiRobot The process we used to eliminate game rec

@GraceNote If it matters I actually like the ITG questions... Ive not seen any other site with such a wide collection of gamers where those sorts of questions actually have a chance to be answered aside from here.

I have mixed feelings about . I find them really interesting to read through but... they just aren't really great for the site. =[

Personally I don't see a significant benefit in removing them for us and I do see a loss in removing them for the askers

@James Can always ask on chat.

@James Just because our site isn't as bad as other sites at it doesn't mean it belongs here.

9:26 PM
@James I starred it because he makes a good point. You don't close questions because they are terrible, you close them because they don't fit on our site.

@James Everybody loves answering ITGs, they just don't belong on this Q&A site.

@Wipqozn That's a dirty lie, and you know it. At least some of it is.

@James there's a dedicated subreddit for ITG...

@OrigamiRobot Sounds like a question and an answer to me.. 'Can someone tell me which game that is?' "Oh yes, its most likely that game"....

The problem, fundamentally, is that the SE model for 'community moderation' and rulemaking is all about concensus. But there's no fallback in place for when the community is evenly divided. The trilogy got around this by using staff fiat to make those hard decisions, but they've tried to keep their hands off of SE sites, or at least, off of gaming.se when it comes to these things and the result is that these issues seethe and stagnate as we allow various things...

9:27 PM
@IanPugsley Oh really? Is it worth a damn?

great me talking about breasts is starred... wonderful.

@IanPugsley Where?

All while a large and vocal portion of the sites user base spends their every free minute decrying about how these things should not be allowed and should be deleted.

@LessPop_MoreFizz Clearly we need to leave it up to someone to singularly decide on behalf of the community.

@James It is a question with an answer, but it doesn't fit the way this site works in terms of voting.

9:27 PM
@LessPop_MoreFizz I think that's what community moderators (elected by the community) are for

@BenBrocka Even if it's not, that doesn't mean the questions belong here. The question is do they belong on GSE? not Is there another site for them?

The solution such as it is, should probably be to let the moderators do it.
But our moderation team is 1) divided, and 2) Seems to need to be dragged kicking and screaming into taking any kind of decisive action, time and again.

@OrigamiRobot So they arent rep-generating questions, but they are still direct questions (when asked well enough) that deal directly with gaming...

@LessPopMoreFizz they are too busy banning @GnomeSlice

@JuanManuel Okay, well then do something. Shit or get off the pot, all of you.
2

9:29 PM
@Pyrodante ROFL

@LessPop_MoreFizz I agree, but we're not evenly divided on ITG.

It's been how long?
@Wipqozn Have you spoken to @oak lately?

@Wipqozn Excuse me?

@LessPop_MoreFizz we are discussing it

@JuanManuel We've been discussing it for a year now.

9:29 PM
Look at the last question before the one @NickT too made, the majority of people who participated were in favour of removing them:
15
A: Do we still like 'Identify This Game' questions?

tzenesSo, when I approach the problem of whether or not a question is appropriate for GSE I have to remind myself what the goal of GSE is. In my opinion: To span the graph of gaming knowledge and become an authority on it There are really two goals in there. The first is on collecting where a...

I repeat. Shit or get off the pot.

@Mana isn't going to be any help, he's drunk.

@James No, the issue is other people cannot properly vote on them. meta.gaming.stackexchange.com/a/4002/9983

@LessPop_MoreFizz poor choice of words, let me rephrase.

@LessPop_MoreFizz "we" as in "the moderators"

9:30 PM
@James It's not that they are not rep-generating, the problem is that the score of an answer is basically unrelated to the goodness or correctness of the answer

@OrigamiRobot There are a lot of issues one might say are present.

There. I meant evenly divided. @GnomeSlic

@Wipqozn Pardon?

Oak
@LessPop_MoreFizz I was pinged!

9:30 PM
"keep" is in the lead, lol.

@GraceNote Quite. By "the issue" I meant "the issue with voting"

@NickT No it isn't.

@GnomeSlice that is to say the majority of the community, at least those who participated in the last meta, are against them, and by a wide margin.

@OrigamiRobot This just screams to me about not wanting a plumber to fix your gas pipes just because he also has the tools in his kit to unplug a toilet.. Just cause all of the awesome things SE is capable of do not need to be used in all situations doesn't make those situations inappropriate for SE.

@NickT Can we make 'no downvoting' a rule?
That would mean one person gets two votes, effectively.

9:32 PM
I can't seem to find it after a quick search - @badp and @LessPopMoreFizz, do either of you remember the ITG subreddit that got posted in here at one point?

@GnomeSlice No. You would just ignore the net up vote and only look at up votes.

@GnomeSlice It's already stated.

@James But there are too many problems with the way the SE engine interacts with ITG questions

@IanPugsley that's a gamerec subreddit, r/gamingsuggestions

@GraceNote I see a downvote.

9:32 PM
@GnomeSlice We can't mechanically prevent downvotes, there's no system for that.

@James Did you even read the reasons I listed?

Oh, but I see.

@GnomeSlice Like I said, it doesn't matter. You just look at the up vote count, and ignore the net score.

@Wipqozn I'M DUMB.

So you just do a split vote count and we just ignore downvotes.

9:33 PM
@murgatroid99 You mean it reads the tag and starts to choke? It doesnt just treat it like any other question?

@James You didn't just miss the point; you're not even in the same hemisphere as the point.

@GnomeSlice Must... resist... urge... to star...

Oak
@GnomeSlice your new avatar rocks.

@OrigamiRobot The only point in your list that my statement was not in response of was the duplicates area.

@Oak Did you see either of the other 2 variations?

9:34 PM
@James I mean that those types of questions and answers do not fit well with the system of voting on whether questions are good and bad.

@GnomeSlice Oh, well. I resisted the urge to star this, but someone else didn't.

Oak
@GnomeSlice nope

@Wipqozn Figures.

@GnomeSlice well, yes. We star things that make people look bad out of context. It's what we do.
2

@murgatroid99 And I am stating that just because I feel no need to up vote an answer marked as the answer is not a good enough reason for them to be beyond SE's environment.

9:35 PM

Q: The fate of "Identify This Game" (ITG) questions

Nick TPeople are foaming at the mouth and ready to go. ...fed up with how much discussion and how little "things getting done" are happening... ...you're essentially wasting a whole lot of time trying to talk about process and people don't want to bother talking about process... Upvote the ...

@James No that's not the problem. The problem is that people do vote without knowing what answer is correct, so the score of an answer has no relation to its correctness. This is a problem.

@James Do you disagree with my first two points?

@James It may not be enough by itself, but it's part of why the questions don't work on our site.

anyways, thanks for making that meta @NickT.

Oak
9:37 PM
@GnomeSlice you chose the best one.

@Oak I dunno, I'm rather fond of my first attempt, actually.

@OrigamiRobot Nope. But I do see either of them as being a reason to disallow those types of questions. So you cant vote on a question until the person accepts it. This is what my earlier remark about plumbing was in regards to. As for the second question, if we are going to outlaw people from asking questions when they might be wrong about what they are asking. How are you going to tackle that beyond ITG questions? 'case that is not limited to those.
@murgatroid99 A problem that has what affect upon the system?

@James The problem is that your suggestion would require a significant change to the SE engine just for which would prevent people from voting on unaccepted answers. Since many users who ask those questions do not come back, we end up with a lot of questions with no votes at all and no way of knowing what answer is right.

@James The key difference isn't that the asker might have slightly incorrect information.

Oak
@GnomeSlice to each his own :) just sayin', I like the zombie-robot-cylon or whatever it is

9:40 PM
@James Being able to vote on different answers is what this site is about. Otherwise is Just betweeen two people.

@Oak Yeah, I guess I don't like how nonsensical it is.

The problem in this case with ITG is that an outside observer has no way, based on their own objective expertise, to know if an answer is correct.

@Oak Also, yes, it was inspired by a cylon. :D

@OrigamiRobot Oh well I apologise.. Here I thought this was a Q A site where I could expect to see questions being asked and answers being given.

@James The system relies on the community saying what answer is good because the asker is not always right or does not always accept an answer.

9:41 PM
SRS BSNS.

I had no idea the entire point of the SE sites were to allow people to gather reputation values to be displayed to the world.
I remove all previous statements made in error as to how the site worked.

@James Yes, but it's also a QA site where I can read somebody elses question, and somebody elses answer, and I can decide to contribute by voting for the one that best answers the question, based upon my own knowledge.

erm, Supposed to work.

@James If your criteria for questions being here is that it is a question that some people might answer, then we are Yahoo Answers.

@James The site is about more than questions and answers. It is about providing the best answers.

9:42 PM
The problem with ITG is that that last part breaks down. Other people can't contribute by voting the best answers to the top, because other people don't have the ability to know which answers are the best answers.

@James This is a complete misinterpretation of our arguments. The votes have an important purpose besides reputation, and this does not work well with ITG questions.

@OrigamiRobot Yup, I understand that with out so many up-votes or the chance for there to be more than one answer any specific answer can not be the best one there is.

@LessPop_MoreFizz Why is it so horrendous when this doesn't behave exactly this way every now and then?

@LessPop_MoreFizz Vote on whether or not the answer meets the criteria in the question.

surprisingly, I agree with @LessPopMoreFizz

9:43 PM
@GnomeSlice Because voting is an important part of how StackExchange works. It's how we identify high quality content.

@Ullallulloo But the answer can meet the criteria of an ITG question and still be wrong.

@murgatroid99 So don't accept it as the answer.

Enough guys. I can clearly see your stance and while trying to dispel it you only seem to be strengthening it from where I stand. Its a waste of everyone else's time to make them read through this scroll.

@Ullallulloo Then this is identical to game recommendation questions.

@Ullallulloo At that point, if the answer is wrong, we're talking about game-rec.

9:43 PM
@GnomeSlice Because if voting can't do what it's supposed to do, it loses all the benefit and intent behind having a vote system in the first place.

@GnomeSlice That still perverts the system of having score correlate to correctness.

@murgatroid99 Usually that means that the question isn't specific enough.

Allow me to give you an example from my experience working with the Android tag. Tag rot is a bad thing, hundreds of questions get lost in the sea of "unanswered questions" that actually have answers, just no upvotes. In our case the community can take the tag back by going through and cultivating our tags questions. with ITG it is basically impossible to do so.

@Ullallulloo And then it becomes a broken window. Because at this point, it's been open for a month with no correct answer, and in order to get it closed, someone like me has to sit there and open 400 browser tabs and manually sift through every single one.

Since I do not really care about rep or ratings on questions/answers any argument as to how they are the underlying forefront of the SE sites is lost on me.

9:44 PM
@Ullallulloo Even if we accept very specific questions, what if the game has a remake and the asker only wanted the original. Or only wanted the remake?

@StrixVaria Except game-recs could have tons of answers, but a good itg will only have one or two.

Furthermore as has been pointed out, the questions as a whole provide little or nothing to the community at large
so: huge amount of hassle for little to no gain.

@Ullallulloo There is no such thing as a "good" ITG.

@James In the absence of acceptance, votes are the only way to judge answers against each other.

@Ullallulloo "Not specific enough" is very hard to measure, especially in a scenario when you can't even know beforehand how many options there are.

9:45 PM
@StrixVaria well that is not strictly speaking true, but they are the vast minority

STOP FIGHTING. WHY DO YOU FIGHT SO MUCH. YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO LOVE EACH OTHER, SO STOP IT. STOP FIGHTING, STOP IT.

@murgatroid99 Yup, I wont read any answer except the one with the most votes from here on out.

@James Reputation is not really an issue or a concern if you ask me.

@GnomeSlice there is a functional difference between fighting and debating, no one is angry here.

@James If you would like a Q&A site in which voting is not used to promote the best questions and answers to the top of the pile, I would encourage you to take a closer look at Yahoo Answers. I hear they're doing great.

9:46 PM
@GnomeSlice beep boop I love everyone.

@Pyrodante Yeah, I know.

@James I said correlate, I did not say that it was an absolutely correct metric. Please stop putting words in my mouth.

Voting is important. It is used to separate the best content on the site from the rest of the content on the site.

@murgatroid99 @James In the absence of acceptance, votes are the only way to judge answers against each other. I see no correlate in there at all.

9:47 PM
and right as I say that, the bold come out :D
The problem is even "good" ITG questions are basically rot for the site

@Pyrodante I am using HUGE levels of sarcasm to try and prove a point, but I am not angry :)

@LessPop_MoreFizz It still does! Highest scoring content is the most useful, as the score approaches 0 the content becomes less useful/interesting, and the lowest scoring content is the most entertaining!
I love that sound at 2:50

4 mins ago, by murgatroid99
@GnomeSlice That still perverts the system of having score correlate to correctness.

Speaking of which, I need to microwave the other half of my lunch :D

if every answered ITG was deleted, the impact to future viewers would be minimal, and largely positive.
4

@LessPop_MoreFizz It's not counted as "answered" unless you get an upvoted answer. If there's one that meets the criteria, then it should be upvoted and be answered; if not, then downvote, and it wouldn't be as hard to close just unanswered ITGs. That'd still apply to other questions too though.

@GraceNote FINALLY!

You all are making it very difficult to get my work done >.<

@murgatroid99 How did you get a post to Gnome pop up a notification box to me??

@Pyrodante Post a scantily clad lady, that usually works for me for about 59 minutes.

9:49 PM
@Ullallulloo That still just makes it a catalog, does it not?

@murgatroid99 How much would that matter?

@James Chat transcript in reply to you.

Oh, LOL I see it was cut and pasted here :)

@GraceNote ABOUT GOD DAMNED TIME.

I went looking for it when it said 4min ago on it, hehe

9:49 PM
@LessPop_MoreFizz This.

@GraceNote This is acceptable to me.

@GraceNote um...I don't understand.

amidoinitright?

@Ullallulloo My point is still that a complete specific ITG question can still have more than one answer that matches the question in all points, but only one is correct.

@Pyrodante No!

9:50 PM
What is with you guys tonight

@Pyrodante Not really. Let me show you.

seriously, anonymous flagger?

@murgatroid99 But maybe the other answers on there are what other people coming to the site having searched for parts of what were in the question, were looking for.

@GnomeSlice I would rather you didn't

@Ullallulloo If we claim an answer as "good enough" by simply satisfying the criteria, then the end result is that "ITG" is just a glorified illusory ritual masking "List of games that match this criteria". Especially if acceptance or being the game from the original author isn't required.

9:51 PM
@GnomeSlice please don't...

anonymous fraggers

Never mind.

Damnit @GnomeSlice
2

@MarcoCeppi I think we are all actually awake at the same time :D

@MarcoCeppi I don't know what you're talking about.

9:52 PM
@James Did you read the blog post? As he pointed out, it is very unlikely that anyone will come to the question from a google search and find what they are looking for,

@murgatroid99 I agree that the votes on ITG answers may not matter, but I am just not convinced that they throw such a huge monkey wrench into the system as to remove them.

@GraceNote That's what they are by nature, which is why we need specific criteria like the tag says.

@GraceNote I don't recall situations of people trying to sneak game-recs as ITGs.
We ask for too many details for that to work out.

: Disabled voting on ITG. :3

@badp I've seen it happen once.

9:52 PM
@James The fact that votes don't really work with ITG means that ITG does not fit the system.

@murgatroid99 Was there something in there that backed up this statement?

@badp We don't, and I'm not saying people are. I'm saying our enforcement to simply allow "hits criteria" instead of "hits the game the user is asking for" makes them catalogs.

3
Q: Masked ITG question?

StrixVariaI have a particular issue with this question: Difficult-to-locate game... name unknown: Based on the comments in A CS:S-style surf game for free?, I'm leaning towards this user trolling us. This user insists that his game-rec question is actually an ITG question in the CS:S-surf question. Just n...

@GnomeSlice That would make the whole SE system useless and turn us into a forum.

@GraceNote And yet there's no confusing the two kinds of them

9:53 PM
@GraceNote want to just delete both my questions so I can make one that is explicitly only about procedure? Or is it Pandora's box now :\

We can reliably tell one from the other.

@Ullallulloo Which, I might remind we have a part of our FAQ that prohibits catalogs. We only allow because our enforcement is that it is not a catalog.

@James The second point on the blog post basically says that.

If you're trying to accept that they are just a catalog, then you're shooting the identification acceptability in the foot and killing it without us needing to do anything.

@StrixVaria That has got to be the most-specific game-rec in history of world.

9:54 PM
@murgatroid99 Can you link me the blog again? make sure I am looking at the right thing...

Two SE employees, @JuanManuel and @Joel posted to my wannabe-procedure question with decidedly position-arguments, and now that I made a poll people are bringing up procedural issues

@James It's pinned (second).

A: Do Costumes Affect Breast Physics?

KtashApparently you're not the only one who wanted to know. A selected quote for you: certain clothing (usually "solid" things like armor, or the voodoo top) disables jiggle physics so that the boobs don't clip through it.

(:D)

@GraceNote I'm just saying that if we can tell them apart, clearly it's because they're not the same thing and need not be subject to the same policy

@GnomeSlice You're going to get flagged, y'know

> again, i know this is horribly shallow, and not really important, but i am curious just the same

@GnomeSlice Figured I'd answer it for you. Tried to do the leg work for it (so to speak) but there aren't any good videos online for it yet ;)

@badp I'm saying that just because it's an identification, that doesn't make it magically not a catalog when it exhibits every trait of catalogs that is why we prohibit catalogs in the first place.

@Ktash See the comment I just left. =]

@GnomeSlice you build good cases, and then destroy them by your behavior

So if the argument to keep identification is because "It plays out like a catalog", that just means we should kill it!

@GnomeSlice Watch out ... questions about breasts will be the next big topic that will be flagged uneducational

@GnomeSlice a per character break down. That's probably outside the scope of what I can do seeing as how I don't actually own the game and can't find good videos

At any rate I'm tired of having to argue for ITG every single time this topic comes up given that "clearly" the topic "isn't settled" until all these questions aren't banned forever even ever and ever and ever
and being in the minority at that

@murgatroid99 Well same as I said before, I can see the duplicate questions being a problem, but I also thought it was up to us to merge duplicates, both questions and answers?

@GraceNote I don't see the problem with a catalog if they're so specific that only one game fits it.

@James I didn't mean the duplicates part. I meant the part where anyone besides the asker would be unlikely to get any help from the question.

@gnome I keep seeing these messages flagged. Try to be polite OK?

Because then it's not really a catalog.

@Ullallulloo We already ruled out that as being both feasible and measurable.

@Ullallulloo Just because a set only has one thing in it doesn't mean it's not a set.

@murgatroid99 Only people who have that question will find the answers useful. I think everyone accepts that.

It doesn't mean something else can't be added later.

9:59 PM
Do we then hunt to see if there's two games that happen to match a set of criteria?

It doesn't mean that that's the right thing to be in that set.

The entire star list is pins for me right now.

@StrixVaria It will then be called a singleton.
