@JonEricson Is there an actual goal regarding mid level users and reputation. It seems we meet all of the other metrics regarding QPD, flagging spam, editing...
@JonEricson So, maybe double the mid level, a 25% increase. Just speaking in rough terms of course, when you see the stats what do you say to yourself? If mechanics only had a little more <insert attribute here> we could graduate them....
The story behind the car, him going back to be with his childhood friends to build the car, then racing the car in an event which he'd dreamt about his whole life. It really was great.
@DucatiKiller I just looked at the stats. I think you are very close now. Next time we review the site for graduation, it's pretty likely we'll take a risk on running an election.

@JonEricson everyone in this chat has really been reaching out to them and encouraging them with comments and what not so that seems very organic at this point. I suppose the community continuing to do what it does seems to be the order of business. That's good.

@DucatiKiller The key is getting enough people nominate themselves and enough people vote to make the election. My nightmare is an election where there are 4 candidates and ~20 voters.
@JonEricson - Deservedly so, especially if you are the one calling the shot. Then you have to tell your boss, "Eh ... sorry ... I thought we'd have enough."

I will say I really like the way you answer my numbers questions without answering the question directly. You carried this baby in most ways homie. This is a huge validation of your efforts IMO.
Whattever it is, I give you kudo's. You invested a lot of calories into this and frankly I don't think the site would have made it if it weren't for you. That's sincere. So thanks for keeping it alive long enough for me to come along and experience it. I mean that.

I think it's almost on auto pilot. Sure, there are key figures and all that but the community is pretty damn good to the users and friendly. It's attracting users that are sticking. If the community continues to do what it does things should just go along the path.
I spent some time in February experimenting with an idea
I went back to old questions of users that had been dormant but had 500+ rep. They also had to be active on other sites in the SE network. I would goto their old questions and vote on the top three or four accepted answers.
What I found was that about a third of those type of users that I would do that to.....would come back and do something. Comment. Answer a question, ask a question.
of those about half would start visiting regularly.
I tracked it in a notebook. Not normalized data or anything but I would check those users activity daily
It was an effective method to pull back users that may have been driven away or lost interest for whatever reason. I do it today about once a week, I just don't track it anymore.
You should have clued me ... I would have helped. I guess it doesn't mean we cannot keep on doing this and see how it all works out. What it really came down to, though, was voting. Just strategic voting. I like it.
