@Quill-HATMANIAC I don't think the first vote should come after x views. I'm saying that the first vote that counts toward the hat should come after x views.
@Quill-HATMANIAC My initial guess was 500 views/5 votes, but I'm not sure if there should be some timing consideration as well (how quick should the votes be cast once you reach the required views)
Then look for a question with 99 views and gather some peope to upvote it. My votes are exhausted for the day.
I earned some privileges on meta, no hat. If it is related to privileges then it must be bot that and other requirements like the views and time ranges.
If a user types a couple of lines right after each other in chat, the avatar grows to it's maximum size.
So does the hat.
Because of the size of the mask and the short length of the name, the name gets hidden by the hat.
This can't possibly be by design.
@Pops Yep, but some year ago Shog posted that hint list. I don't really want the hint, just the numbers to know if it is worth to look for more hidden one or we should just focus on the ones that were found.
But again, I understand that may be asking to much and respect the decision.
@JoshCrozier actually, if the id were sequential and the missing numbers were the hidden hats - that have been moved to higher id so that the api can't be abused, it would be 45 hats.
that would mean 17 secret ones.
meaning we lack a grand total of 11.
doesn't seem realistic though, each year the number has been around 8
Unless they really went far with the "more secret hats" thing.
@Derpy I would imagine that someone has thought about it at some point? I don't remember it ever being brought up for full team discussion as an actual change request. Might have happened before my time? I would think that would have to become part of the site design process, and not an insignificant amount of work for our existing 100+ sites.
@Pops Actually, I didn't mean them to be different for each site, so at least it would have been a "one time only" thing. But yep, thanks for the info. I will see if anyone else around would like to help for a proposal.
@Pops - I hope that you will get notice of my hat attempt very soon... I hope it at least give you a smile.
@Derpy Actually I didn't touch the FAQs. They stayed exactly the same as they did in previous years, except for date updates.
@Derpy With all the different existing designs and color schemes though, I don't know if any one set of images would even work. I guess I'll look forward to your meta post though.
I tried to farm it, but the one I tried to farm on was on pre-Bash post, so it didn't work. I got it by posting my honest opinions on a controversial meta post. There is a comment war still raging under it, which I am staying the hell out of.
Looks like there have already been at least 10 comments that used to be there that were deleted.
The Background
Folks were talking prime factorization in chat and we found ourselves talking about repunits. Repunits are a subset of the numbers known as repdigits, which are numbers consisting of only repeating digits, like 222 or 4444444444444444, but repunits consist only of 1.

I have always been intrigued by the word cockpit and have wondered where it originated.
I have heard that it originated in the times of cock fights; is this true? If it is, how did the word evolve from having its original cockfighting meaning to being the name for the portion of an airplane or ...
WinterBash is always a lot of fun and makes people trek across sites and participate in communities they are not usually a part of, but how did they originate? What was the thought process behind introducing this tradition?

Let's say I wanna match the letters E, Q and W. However, I don't want them matched if they're found in a certain string of characters, for instance, HELLO.

There's a nifty regex trick you can use for this. Here's some code in JavaScript, but it can be adapted to any language:
var str = 'LKNSDG8E94GO98SGIOWNGOUH09PIHELLOBN0D98HREINBMUE',
rgx = /HELLO|([EQW])/g,
match;

@Quill-HATMANIAC Amazing Grace is a song written by John Newton, previously a slave trader. It is a very popular Christian Hymn, and grace is a critical tenet of reformed christian theology.
@Quill-HATMANIAC Oh, I see the confusion. You need to answer a question that is currently a tumbleweed. The question you linked as an example earned its author a Tumbleweed badge at some point in the past, but was since visited more and upvoted a bunch of times, so by the time you answered it, it was no longer a tumbleweed.
