@Abcd alright, your reason is valid but we prefer that such old, abandoned questions be deleted instead; so, you should rather post a link to it in Spring Cleaning and cite the reason you feel it'd be deleted; closure wastes time of five people

as for this particular question, i downvoted it, and it'll be automatically roomba'ed in five days, so not an issue

it's good we clean up old stuff, but, closure isn't the best method for that

@GaurangTandon dx.doi.org is not deprecated; it remains fully supported. The publisher uses it, too. And I simply copy it from my previous answers since there is no need to change it.

@Loong sorry, by deprecated i didn't mean the support is being removed. I meant to say they've "updated recommendations" from dx.doi.org to doi.org. I interpreted it as they prefer if people use the latter format. Anyway though, thanks for replying!
