I'm trying to obtain the "<div class="content">" stuff from the 19th byte transcript page, with ajax and regex, but it's not working...
Here's the code, if anyone's interested:
oReq = new XMLHttpRequest();
oReq.onreadystatechange=function(){
  if(oReq.readyState!=4)return;
  var messages = [];
  oReq.responseText.replace(/(content..........)/gim,function(_,x){return messages.push(x)});
  console.log(messages);
};
oReq.open("GET", "http://chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/240");
oReq.send();
Maybe the page is just too big for JS to handle
#speak

Hey ETHbot, what's the weather like at your place?
Kinda cloudy, but really warm for December.
Do you think the bot will work well once we have more conversation?
Oh, yes, definitely.
This is a sample sentence that ends on the moon.
This is a sample sentence that starts in the room.

No
That one document.getElementsByClassName error
Try just typing document.getElementsByClassName in the console
Just like that, no parentheses
Maybe there was a random 0-width non-joiner in there
Doubt it
#speak
(automatic response) But you quine?
20:44
@Ethproductions getElementsByClassName() { [native code] }

Well, why doesn't it work then, if it says it's a function?
Try just entering document.getElementsByClassName("message")

This is a really long sentence. You can tell that it is really long because it wraps around the edge of the message area. In fact, it might even take up a few extra lines. Let's see how ETHbot takes it into account.

It doesn't sound particularly secure
I'm not sure how I could make it more secure.
I think quartata's bot uses MathJS
Hmm, well, I don't have time to delve into that right now, so I'll just remove it. #speak
(automatic response) How so I'll just to mess with your bot
