This will do fine :D
Alright
I should call the bot "SoldierBot" :P
Beep boop son. Beep boop.
"The Tin Soldier"
Tell me when you fix the bot so I can try out a few things with it.
01:00
@quartata Will do.
I'm intrigued.
And somewhat amazed that we haven't had a chat bot for Nineteenth Byte.
All sorts of stuff that could be done
:)

Yeah.
Lemme fix that.

o> quack
So both the original version and the modified version seem to suffer from this.
It'll just infinitely post a response to a command....
I'm running it with TamperMonkey.
Oh. I don't use chrome and OK
Oh, maybe that's the problem.
So the current script in Git doesn't cause these problems for you?
I only get a problem when I try to do the commands myself.
22:29
I'm not sure why it happens, I think it has something to do with the dotted lines...
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ Ohhh.
I see.
<The Tin Soldier> Bot initiated. Type !help for help.
That's what happened actually.
So that's always a problem?
So, if I do this:
!eval i + i
OK I see.
<The Tin Soldier> @CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ i + i => 2i
I get around ~20 messages.
22:30
Ahhh
I don't know why it does, but I'm going to take a look at how it interacts.
I think it's because I am spamming the server, since I get a `POST
XHR
chat.stackexchange.com/chats/30332/messages/new [HTTP/1.1 409 Conflict 22ms]` error.
What I want to do is to be able to detect when a message is posted, then only run parsing upon that message being posted.
This would surely solve this problem, as the check script runs every ~14 ms.
My latest version. Tell me if there are any problems.
Looking @ it now
It adds a 10 second rate limit and a !doorknob command
^ you mean a 10 second delay between commands?
22:36
Oh it also makes the !alex command silent ping him shhhh
Don't tell him...
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ Yes
You can modify that if you want
Okay
I might, but prob. not
Did you see my comment about the detection of messages?
Yes.
I think that might be able to solve the problem of x20 messages
22:38
Hmm
Well gotta go
23:35
!eval 3 + alex
<The Tin Soldier> @CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ 3 + alex => 3.5
