We've finally added the code:"x" syntax into the search tips on /search! It only took us... checking my notes here ...8 years. Oof. Sorry about that. Thanks for the request, we really appreciate it.
i er why am i being asked by stack exchange to agree to a new cookie policy?
@terdon well people like you that contribute to that extent ought to be given shares in the company or be on their payroll to some extent i have spoken about this subject on numerous occasions and make no secret of the belief that the way it is kind of sucks, hence you feeling despondent about your contribution having 0 effect on your individual life
but it has not been well received or just ignored mostly. everyone cottoned on quite quickly that i enjoy negative attention and now chose to not enable me by providing it. this is why it was so hard giving up facebook. i could always find someone that would get angry enough to send me death threats. i have needs is it too much to ask?
@AdamL Because without the user's consent they can't store snooping cookies in your computer, thus the advertisers make less money, thus Stack makes less money.
@AdamL The deal is that (1) we help people solving their problems and thus (2) learn from answering and from peer review. In exchange, Stack monetizes what we write.
