@totallyhuman or wrap in list
>:U is not a multi-directional :c
... what would :U be?
Nobody knows lol it's not completely straight
17:01
also why is Reverse() an unprintable here
@totallyhuman mobile fonts are bad is why
i'm not mobile
and i rarely see boxes on a chromebook, this thing has a goldmine of fonts
Anyone know how to strikethrough text in a README ?
prints fine for me, and I'm on chrome
@Zacharý <s>this will have to do</s>
17:03
CMC: Given a factorial N!, return N. 120 -> 5, 24 -> 4.
markdown itself doesn't have strikethrrough
Do not handle 0
@Zacharý ~~Strikethrough~~
iirc
@Zacharý Double tildes
what
how have i never heard of this before
17:04
@totallyhuman then idk lol they work fine on Ubuntu and windows with only default fonts installed
@Mr.Xcoder You have been ninja'd
@totallyhuman Tilde
I don't think he meant the symbol lol
@Mr.Xcoder ...no i know what a tilde is lol
17:04
THanks, it worked!
How could I forget about these
i just never knew GFM had tildes for strikthrough
it's not commonly used, but it exists
(That was for MY's readme, since I have an implemented codepage now)
17:05
I always knew, but then I started using chat lol
@totallyhuman What's GFM. Did you mean GHM?
@Mr.Xcoder Github Flavoured Markdown
@Mr.Xcoder github flavour markdown
Oh, ok
Damn ninjas

17:07
I was planning on writing a pure/almost pure Python answer to Wheat Wizard's question
CMC: Run a script that prints the YT link for Never gonna give you up or opens the video in a browser.
but I'm really scared I'm going to spend a lot of time and then ninja'd
@notjagan Goood luck
import rickroll
...face it, it probably exists on pypi
ahahahahhaha
There's probably a Mathematica builtin.
@Mr.Xcoder impressive
It is, in fact 1 byte
i get more upvotes because import rickroll :P
@totallyhuman You get even more by importing xkcd
17:10
@Mr.Xcoder does Charcoal need a built-in for this
pypi.python.org/pypi/xkcd, what on earth, this exists.
o_o, GTG.
17:18
@Mr.Xcoder SOGL, 6 bytes: ∫№=?FT (I did add the factorial built-in and fixed f/F for this to work tho)
Things to do, things to do...

That is the point, yes.

Q: Dual-tone multi-frequency decoding

@Okx you put a separator between

Okx
right

Okx
Okx
and is 0 supposed to mean duplicate tos or while
@Okx I'm just looking for more commands, the syntax itself is super confusing :P
@Okx the code is all a-zA-Z
for commands 0 in commands is 2: c k s v x y z J # 0 in commands
012: divide could be cAw
maybe I should make the commands 256 instead of 012

Q: Minimum swaps to create an alternating binary string of ones and zeros

Mike KGiven a binary string, that is it contains only 0s and 1s (number of zeros equals the number of ones) We need to make this string a sequence of alternate characters by swapping some of the bits, our goal is to minimize the number swaps. For example, for the string "00011011" the minimum number ...

Q: Is Answer Chaining a Self-Contained Winning Criteria Tag?

Step HenI recently saw that someone had edited an answer chaining question to have code-challenge. At first I balked at that, and after checking the first page of answer-chaining, I confirmed my original thought that answer-chaining challenges usually don't have another winning criteria, which led me to ...

How does ÁÝ sound as a name of a APL dialect designed for code-golf?
@trichoplax ?
Could be golfier - not a serious answer
Where is the /s?
22:31
I always forget that - even when speaking out loud...
Is there a story behind the two letter choice?
Yeah, a short one.
Appropriate :)
Anyone want to guess it?
22:34
It's how you pronounce the first letter of APL?
Nope. Has nothing to do with the word APL.
Are the diacritics part of the story?
Which users do you know of have an acute in their username?
Ohhhh...
It's an extreme portmanteau
Also has the bonus of possibly being read as I, another golfing language based upon J.

First answer in TeX... most annoying language ever
You're using TeX to output plain text?!?
@trichoplax ?
it isn't really a constant-output challenge...
I think he means ascii-text, rather than formatted formulae
I know, but if I understood correctly it is a - yes, what @Zacharý said
I don't get what you mean by "formatted formulae"
22:42
I mean plain text as opposed to rendered output that TeX is designed for
Non ascii text, like \forall or something
oh
well, TeX is turing complete, so...
Just surprised me to see a furnace being used to boil an egg :)
Yeah, so is Brainfuck.
@trichoplax I see

Yay, it isn't raining criticism!
0/10 too short
ÁÝ haven't barely started this language yet, yeesh!
what does the name mean?
23:14
Scroll up.
39 mins ago, by Zacharý
Which users do you know of have an acute in their username?
(Pronounced "I" mainly for the pun)
alright
My next languages are probably going to be "ME" and "MINE" or something.
me myself and I?
(And myself)
ME, MINE, MY, MYSELF, I (ÁÝ)
whence the acute in your name?
23:19
@LeakyNun ?
@Zacharý Zachary
Are you asking why I have the acute in my username?
It was when I was insanely into linguistics, I found out about Czech's very simple orthography-phonology relation, and ý comes from that. Zacharý would be pronounced /zaxari:/, while Zachary would be /zaxarɪ/.
well I'm also insanely into linguistics... but not really about Czech
23:25
Neither was I, I just noticed that when looking for a natural cough Esperanto cough language that had a phonology-orthography relation that was simple.
I think Romanian is also quite simple
Czech comes before Romanian, :p
meanwhile, Danish be like
@WheatWizard on the Unrestricted Languages question, when does a language go non-competing? When it is posted, or when the challenge starts?
And, "c", "e", "g", "h", ..., all have multiple interpretations. So, not simple enough.
23:29
@StepHen When the challenge starts
@LeakyNun and English. English is the anti-Czech.
@WheatWizard and how should I post my answer currently - just the name of the language and a link or something?
@Zacharý you're right
you should include an interpreter
English is a difficult language, but it can be understood through thorough thoughts, though.
23:30
@WheatWizard is a link to a Github page fine? and then edit it to include the source of last commit when the competition starts?
sure guess
@WheatWizard ok, thanks :)
i don;t know
ok I'll include the source but say that it'll probably be updated, I haven't finished implementing or speccing all my commands yet
GAHHH. Do NOT chop union in a blender and open and stir into salsa. IT BURNS. MY EYES SPOUTED WATER LIKE DENNIS SPOUTS CODE

@2EZ4RTZ why would you put your face over a running blender, ever
Chat-Mini-Sandbox, since I don't need to Sandbox this challenge: would you rather output a list of US states, or the length of that list?
@Zacharý I, me, me, mine
@LeakyNun English probably isn't difficult to learn if you learn only either the written or the spoken language. (Written - some people on the internet, Spoken - people who just try to survive)
@2EZ4RTZ So, barely at all, considering it's code-golf :p
@Zacharý alright
23:50
@Zacharý any language is easy to learn if you go out and immerse yourself in it
@StepHen Yeah, I guess that's the case with the written language and the vast majority of the internet.
