In mathematics, and more particularly in number theory, primorial is a function from natural numbers to natural numbers similar to the factorial function, but rather than successively multiplying positive integers, only prime numbers are multiplied. There are two conflicting definitions that differ in the interpretation of the argument: the first interprets the argument as an index into the sequence of prime numbers (so that the function is strictly increasing), while the second interprets the argument as a bound on the prime numbers to be multiplied (so that the function value at any composite...

oh prolly could shorten it with sympy...

My letter A challenge is consistently on and off of the hot questions page.

@quartata nethackwiki says to eat amulet of strangulation, because it could confer the effect. That's a really dumb idea. Does it give another effect or is that just wrong?
> amulet of strangulation 13.5% 90.5% generated cursed, EAT

@JonathanAllan For loops, you have ¡ and ¿. Ln¡ executes L n times and returns the last result. С returns all intermediate results. LC¿ executes L while C returns something truthy. As before, there's п too. For recursion, ß calls the current link, Ç and ç the link on the line above (monadic and dyadic), and Ñ and ñ the link on the line below.

@ColdGolf and no one byte solution yet :p

10:03 PM
@ColdGolf Do you mean the Hot Network Questions list in the side bar? Or the full list? The side bar shows a small random selection each time, so even if you are at the top of the full list (which you are) you won't appear on the side bar every time

@trichoplax Sidebar.
I am at the top? WOHOOOO

@Dennis, yeah I've been attempting many of them ^^
I need to feed the output back in as if it were the input
(and accumulate - so Ð would probably feature I guess)

Since my question is at the top of the hot page and I want to celebrate badly, I need an idea for another challenge.
Any one?

@RohanJhunjhunwala umm... lol

@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ ?

@JonathanAllan С does that. For example, ÇnС applies the link on top n times, feeding the next iteration the output of the previous iteration.

?

@ColdGolf 987654321 without 987654321?

What?
What does it mean?

@ColdGolf You could look back through the sandbox posts - there are hundreds of old forgotten half finished ideas...

10:07 PM
Oh now I see.

@Dennis - righto, will give it a whirl, thanks!

@trichoplax Won't steal

@ColdGolf yeah like A without A

Ohh okay

@JonathanAllan There's also ÐĿ, which applies the link until a fixed point is reached.

10:08 PM
-_-
You have reached your question limit

@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ What?
Eating it immediately kills you
Where did you see this

We ask that you wait 3 days before asking again. fuck this

@ColdGolf I'm not suggesting stealing :) We have a policy that anyone can put a comment on a sandbox post asking if they can take it over, and if there's no objection within a month, then that person can take it

@Dennis, much appreciated - if I get a hang of all of this I'll create some more docs :D

10:08 PM
That would be nice. :)

@trichoplax "We ask that you wait 3 days before asking again." WHYYY?
@Dennis Pls.

@ColdGolf Which site?

This is what Dennis meant by question ban
It's automatic nothing you can do

10:09 PM
@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ What

I think that just means that it conveys an effect
Not that you should eat it

oh
that should probably be clarified

@ColdGolf As I told you before, moderators cannot lift questions bans. This time, it is only temporary.

What creature are you right now? Some kind of metallivore?

10:09 PM
@Dennis 3 damn days.

If you don't breathe you can eat it I think

@ColdGolf Can you still post to meta? It's best to leave new challenges in the sandbox for at least 3 days before posting them to main

@Dennis Mods can't remove rate limits?

@quartata no, but I found a /oPoly and ring of control
saving for later probably, or until I find a ring of unchanging

A xorn could eat it.

10:11 PM
@quartata currently human monk
@quartata yeah, don't need to eat it right now though

@uoɥʇʎPʎzɐɹC Welcome, Mr. Uoufypyzerc.

@ColdGolf No. These are handled by the system itself. We don't have access to the system. The temporary ban is in place to protect you, because if you keep posting questions like the last three, it will be permanent.

@Dennis Permaban by a bot?
What the heck?
And I thought AI was smart.

Q: What can I do when getting "We are no longer accepting questions/answers from this account"?

ArjanDo not repost the question you were about to ask until you have READ EVERYTHING WE ARE ABOUT TO TELL YOU. While trying to ask a question, one could get: We are no longer accepting questions from this account. See the Help Center to learn more. Likewise, for answers: We are no longe...

@Dennis Where is Joel?

10:16 PM
?

Man, I haven't played any Nethack in a while actually
I kind of retired after I made it past the castle

lol
i haven't made it to the castle
record is dead on the quest level (the one in the main branch with the portal)

Where are you now?
Also what server

3
@quartata local, iNethack2
don't have access to my computer right now

ah

10:22 PM
@Dennis - so why does this only seem to work for the first level?

@JonathanAllan you need to pad it

@quartata WHY ARE THERE 3 CHAMELEONS ON LEVEL 2

(5 currently hardcoded would be Len div 2)

also, reverse your array or list or whatever jelly has of levels

@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ Ask Rodney what the RNG forecast is for today

10:23 PM
yeah reverse later, what is this pad?

@JonathanAllan prepend spaces to the levels so the match the correct indentation

@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ What did they polymorph into

@Maltysen - but I need to get the recursion to work before thinking about the spaces :p

Joel, pls.

10:25 PM
not good

@Maltysen or are you saying my code needs it?

@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ Whoa.

@JonathanAllan oh didn't see that

@Doorknob I think Riker needs comforting

that's weird
probably something wrong with your looping

10:26 PM
@JonathanAllan You cant use like that. If you append a string to a character, you get a ragged 2D array. ; works well though. Does this do what you want to?

On the bright side it didn't turn into an arch lich

@Maltysen - yeah see how it just pegs it down to /\

My next challenge will hopefully be right on top of the hot questions page again. Title is "978654321 without 978654321" credit goes to @JonathanAllan for the idea

@quartata I think inethack has an evil rng

@ColdGolf what is idea?

10:27 PM
@Maltysen same as the letter A without A question but with numbers.

@Dennis - ahha the tack was the issue :p
@ColdGolf - oooo nice :D

@quartata I left, the other one is a Minotaur, I have ESP

@Dennis yeah (almost :))

Yes, harder than the first one, @JonathanAllan

@JonathanAllan “/\“\/”yḊḊṖṖ”/;;”\µÐĿj⁷ should be better if I understand what you're going for. (Haven't read the challenge.)

10:28 PM
Not sure where the third chameleon went

@ColdGolf I'll post a challenge just like my previous one with variation X is rarely a good idea.
8

@Dennis and you're golfing it already :)

I'm on my question limit, dammit. Let's just hope my letter A question stays on top of the hot questions page for a few more days.

uh oh, Dennis is doing the golfing, better look at mine

@Dennis fine, any better ideas?\

10:29 PM
...and now @Maltysen I need to pad it, then reverse it :p

@ColdGolf don't focus on posting a lot of questions.
Make a couple good ones.

@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ Any ideas?

@ColdGolf Bear in mind that being on the Hot Network Questions isn't always a good sign. It's mainly a measure of how many answers there are. The best way to get a challenge to be a good fit for the site is to use the sandbox.

if you can't generate your own ideas, you probably shouldn't be making challenges.

10:31 PM
@trichoplax The fame, brotha! /s

I've put all my challenges except one through the sandbox, and the one I didn't, it didn't go well...

@ConorO'Brien I was joking dammit

hahaaha
It was a running joke

It's also worth browsing the sandbox sorted by "active" to see what's been posted recently and give others feedback

10:32 PM
Sure
TFW half of the answers on a question are @Dennis.

@ColdGolf If I had any, I would have posted them already. In my 2.5 years of membership, I could only come up with 30 challenges.

Oh you sweet summer child..... (To cold golf)

@Dennis I said answers, not questions.

@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ context...

@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ What?

10:36 PM
So about once a month

@ColdGolf I linked to your fine, any better ideas? post.

@Dennis You're good at linking things.
Also, may I request, guys, please stop downvoting Sandbox questions just because they are bad in their current state?

...well it's a start - reversed and curtailed: jelly.tryitonline.net/…

@JonathanAllan Shouldn't you add another U at the end?

^^
It would be in keeping :p

10:39 PM
The marvels of Jelly.

@ColdGolf that's literally the point of down voting them
To show they aren't ready yet.

@JonathanAllan Still not sure where we're going with this, but here's 3 bytes off. “/\”©,Ṛ$yḊḊṖṖ®jµÐĿUj⁷U

@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ Why not just comment "You can improve X by doing Y" rather than downvoting? The questions aren't ready that's why they are posted in the Sandbox.

@Dennis and there goes my pyth answer...
downvotes don't matter in any sort of way for sorting or anything in the sandbox
its all by active

A Sandbox downvote to me would mean something like "This challenge idea is bad/uninteresting and not worth trying to fix".
3

10:42 PM
@feersum Constructive comments are much better than mere downvotes.

@Dennis oh that's nice. No doubt you'll find a much shorter way when you read the question :p

@ColdGolf If someone thinks an idea should be scrapped, a "constructive" comment makes no sense.

@feersum Yes it does, if the general concept of the idea is good and interesting. If the exact text needs improvement, then tell the poster, don't downvote him/her.

@JonathanAllan Meh, string manipulation in Jelly isn't really my forte. That's Lynn's domain. In your Python answer, couldn't you use b,f='\/' instead?

@Dennis, hmm mayyyybe....

10:46 PM
>>> b,f='\/'
>>> b
'\\'
>>> f
'/'

indeed I can thanks!

> should be scrapped

@El'endiaStarman If the message wasn't a reply to anything will rid be 0?

@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ ?

11:05 PM
How can I run a program as administrator from the command line in Windows without having a password? Google is bizarrely failing to help.

Huh, appears that the name change cooldown is network wide now
@Dennis Can you eleven my chatbot's name for me?

What chatbot?

lol

Yeah, the therapy didn't work out too well

11:08 PM
What should I eleven it to?

Laff-O-Tron

Thanks.

YES!! just got speech recidnition to work. One step closer to my robot project
However you spell that ._.

just watching some PoI
nice indentation:

11:22 PM
@ReleasingHeliumNuclei haha, using pow to calculate powers of 2

@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ lol wow

@feersum what, i do too :/ << is more complicated

But, think of all the bytes!

@feersum without a password at all? What happens if you right click cmd in start and choose run as admin, does it prompt for one then?

@JonathanAllan I just have to click OK.

11:29 PM
so then can you run your program?

Yes, that's what I normally do.
But currently I don't know how to run as administartor without having to open it via Explorer.

guess you could write a wrapper .bat and run that instead from normal cmd?

I don't know how to do it from command line at all.

@feersum smh

@feersum you mean you can't run it from a cmd running as admin?

11:33 PM
@BaldBantha using the google apis?

@JonathanAllan I want to know how to launch a program with administrator privileges from a cmd without administrator.

@Maltysen no IBM

@BaldBantha You seem to be misunderstanding something.

11:37 PM
Yeah I took that out of context I was using a client in the terminal, didn't show previous messages.

@BaldBantha if he only has to click OK to run cmd as admin, he has admin privileges
(Y)

@feersum Based on my google foo, you can't do this at all from the command prompt using standard tools, though you can launch powershell to do it

@ReleasingHeliumNuclei Pol?

@BaldBantha Person of Interest

(I don't have fu... I just have foo)

11:44 PM
@JonathanAllan That one seems to work. Thanks!

@feersum cool beans :)

11:58 PM
@Dennis, finally a 28 byte solution, no doubt you will have further golfing suggestions!

A: The Great Pyramid of ASCII

Jonathan AllanJelly, 28 bytes ⁾/\©,Ṛ$yḊḊṖṖ®jµÐĿµJ’×” ż@j⁷Ṛ Test it at TryItOnline

@quartata Um, null or something, I think.
