@orlp I would imagine something where each side would systematically eliminate all pieces until you get to an insufficient material dead draw scenario.
@BusinessCat I think that's actually a good thing. I wrote a challenge where people had to vote good or evil, and ended up with some extremely complex submissions.
@BusinessCat If you allow trading and auctioning (part of the rules which are sometimes overlooked) then there is a lot of decision making, deciding what price a property is worth before knowing where the rest of them will end up
@trichoplax Unfortunately, the game theory perfect solution appears to be that a perfect game would not involve any trading or auctioning. There's never any reason not to buy iirc
@BusinessCat It's possible to land on more than 1500 worth of property on your first trip around the board, which would be more than you could afford to buy. So you might choose not to buy early on, saving up for later properties, or you might buy everything and then try to sell later if you need to

@StevenH. I don't know the game theory behind it, but I'd expect there to be an incentive to trade if two players have half each of two groups of linked properties each, and a third player has a full group.
That's where deciding how much cash to involve separates the strategies
The way I see it, the fact that people all have different opinions on this means there is likely to be lots of interest in writing competitors. So providing the barrier to entry is reasonably low you should get plenty of players
