Q: Free privileges with "Graduation Usersheet"

NoOneIsHereI just noticed something about my account. I just recently discovered the Graduation Usersheet. I then noticed that I was (not actually) close to getting the privilege "See Vote Counts". I tried it on a question, and guess what? I turn the stylesheet off? I don't want to lose this privilege, but...

...
GitHub issue plox...
00:12
@wizzwizz4 I hope you liked my RC question, never doing that again.
Too much confusion...
The API exposes the up and down count as API responses aren't associated with a privilege level for most cases. It's pretty easy to write anyway. — Quill 46 secs ago
yessss
Oh cool, it's like google but worse.
@Geobits ಠ_ಠ
00:21
TIL 3 and 2 close votes for separate reasons can still close.
why has no one closed my question yet... ;_;
@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ 5 separate reasons works too
@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ it closes as the majority reason in that case, yeah

Q: Grunt + Babel successfully runs but doesn't do anything

DowngoatI'm rather new to grunt/npm but after reading up the docs. I have made myself a package.json and a Gruntfile.js. Here's my folder structure: / |- src |- myfile.es6 |- anotherfile.es6 |- etc. |- Gruntfile.js |- package.json What I have Here's my Gruntfile: module.exports = funct...

00:22
pls close vote at typographical eror
@Geobits The first result here seems relevant. :P
@Downgoat because it's SO
@Quill because it's so, is not a very specific reason :P
@Downgoat Can't you just self answer and leave it open?
@trichoplax but it should be closed
00:24
@Downgoat because there's a lot of off-topic posts posted and some posts just get ignored or missed
Quick generational poll: how many people do not have at least one song from at least 7 of these 60s bands in their personal music collection (mp3, vinyl, cloud, w/e)
@HelkaHomba Without checking, I don't
@HelkaHomba This question would work better if I had a personal music collection. >_>
@HelkaHomba 4 or 5 from the top 10
@HelkaHomba ... Jimi hendrix, rick astley, and dubstep make up my music.... >_>
00:25
@HelkaHomba I know a lot of this music, but in my personal collection? No. And I'm old :P
@Doorknob Same here...
@trichoplax I hope you have at least one Beatles song .-.
@Geobits is over 60, fyi.
/s
@HelkaHomba Nope. I don't have a music collection.
@Geobits I guess by "personal collection" I mean "collection of music you commonly listen to", that could be a pandora station or youtube playlist
00:26
Lots of tremendous artists in that list, I just don't own anything
@HelkaHomba Again, no. I know basically all of it, but that's from when I was a kid and my dad listened to it ;)
._.
Time to go ask on music.SE and see what the response is
@HelkaHomba do you listen to it?
@Geobits Don't feel bad. I've met people older than you.
Like me...
00:30
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ I didn't even notice you were in chat. HAI AGAIN.
Yea, tricho's really really old too.
@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ hai
HAI
But seriously, I thought Peter Taylor was the oldest PPCGer?
Hmm, didn't we have this talk a week ago?
yeah
but nobody ever answered that specific question.
00:32
@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ The estimate a few days ago was that it was the implementer of a dithering algorithm
(sorry, memory's shot cuz well...)
@trichoplax wtf???
@MamaFunRoll :D :D :D did you use babel?
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ did you delete skype?
00:33
@MamaFunRoll Give me something to type to see what happens in chrome.
May 4 at 1:40, by Alex A.
He's my bet for oldest user
@Geobits It doesn't work in Chrome, just Webkit Nightly.
@HelkaHomba I'm pretty sure my whole collection has no song by a Western artist, let alone 60s
So not actually another browser then? ;)
00:33
Something bugs out Chrome if I run the interpreter :P
@Geobits Just go to a unicode palette website and copy paste some characters :P
I'm almost there
May 4 at 1:38, by trichoplax
Possible contender? Wrote the built in they used...
@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ eh? oh, yeah, I closed it out
Almost, just that one error that sets me back
00:34
@MamaFunRoll .... So you choose FF and a really obscure browser?
@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ Hey wai not? :)
@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ webkit nightly is used by a lot of people
@MamaFunRoll because chrome is grate and does al things
In my defense, WK nightly has 100% ES6 implementation
So
I had to get it to work there
A Javascript golfing language that I created awhile back.
@QPaysTaxes it's a JSGL known for heavy use of unicode
00:35
Hehe
um
JSGL has the worst pronunciation in my mind.
Well... You see, ESMin has no docs.
Juzzgull? I dunno what that's supposed to be.
I'm still working on it.
@Geobits Jazz Gull. Like a Jazzy Seagull
00:36
Everytime I start on docs, some idea comes up that ruins it all.
@Downgoat Could be another vowel there, but...
@Geobits .....
Yep, the source is annotated. That may help you
Hello @DrGreenEggsandHamDJ
but it's sorta hard to read the code.
00:38
Hello, @BovineThatHasBeenRotated180Degrees.
@QPaysTaxes Yes. Exactly those and no other.
@QPaysTaxes That's why I'm on v3 and still no docs :P
@MamaFunRoll have docs be autogenerated then
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ cough jolf needs more docs cough
00:39
@Downgoat Hence annotated source
@QPaysTaxes app?
and which language?
@DrGreenEggsandHamDJ I prefer the term caprinae
@DrGreenEggsandHamDJ Bovine is cow.
@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ meh I'll get to it
00:41
can someone please test Cheesecloth on their computer by running this:
git clone github.com/cheddar-lang/Cheesecloth.git && cd Cheesecloth && npm install && grunt install --alias
@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ Ah, you're right. I should have said bovid
@Downgoat I'll do it.
Does OS matter?
Or pre-requisites?
@DrGreenEggsandHamDJ as long as it is a bash shell. (you need node installed)
why not windows?
Does git bash work?
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ there is a bash shell for windows now
00:42
ik
copies into CMD
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ windows doesn't work like linux so no
@Downgoat Wait there is? is that officially out now?
@Downgoat it's working
@DrGreenEggsandHamDJ optimizer posted something about it
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ :O really?? \o/ :D
00:43
I don't think the aliasing will work though
@QPaysTaxes would you like to see the source code
what's the bash shell called?
CYGWIN or something?
@QPaysTaxes You could probably save time for more of that "work" stuff by using one of the million preexisting to-do list things.
Interesting read:
Yannis Rizos on August 29, 2012

One of the very first ideas we had for this blog was to convert some of the wonderful gems of the early era of our site, the undisciplined period, to blog posts. Questions that were once enthusiastically received by the community, but no longer fit Programmer’s scope.

The first deleted question I’ve chosen is Jon Skeet’s “What’s your most controversial programming opinion?” question (available only to 10K+ users, sorry), a +391 scored question that was originally asked on Stack Overflow on January 2, 2009. What follows are twenty of the highest voted answers, in random order… …

00:45
@QPaysTaxes Ah, I see. Ok, yea it's good practice for that.
@QPaysTaxes Right, and it will unify everybody under one standard app :P
@QPaysTaxes Is this Desert Survival? Why not just stick with Ruby?
I know the oo refactor didn't work out but the original is still workable
You're going to use C for a text-based Android game? Masochistic much?
Oh..... ok then :P
Because no, that's why.
It's not the hardest thing in the world, but much more pain than necessary.
Hmm. That might work, depending on how it's done. Android's UI stuff is a fair bit different though, so porting will still take some doing I think.
@Downgoat it's taking forever.
it'll take a while, it has a bunch of stuff to install
wait why can I type stuff
wait, i don't have grunt
@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ you don't need it
00:50
@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ You can only stuff cheese through a pipe so fast... be patient :P
2
it installs it for you
@Down ok, what should I do now?
Probably, yes. Definitely separate the display for sure.
@Downgoat it finished no errors?
@QPaysTaxes ಠ_ಠ
00:51
@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ ok, that's good
You could even openGL a lot of it to help with future ports.
@Downgoat no, it doesn't.
@Downgoat I had to install grunt myself.
@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ it said grunt command not found or something like that?
OpenGL is super ez
00:52
Especially for a nice ortho sprite game.
@Downgoat what should have happened?
@Downgoat I ran npm install -g grunt-cli and then npm install grunt --save-dev and trying the grunt install --alias and it worked.
Boo isometric :P
load texture draw quads refresh boom ez
@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ ok. Do grunt --memeify and then do cpm juic avocad
(or don't do grunt --memeify and do cpm install avocad the boring way)
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ it should exit nicely
00:53
Use a hex grid either way.
@Downgoat ok, so what should I do now?
@Downgoat currently at
Rikers-MacBook-Pro:Cheesecloth rikerw$ cpm juic avocad
Attempting to install avocad...
Attempting to install from github.com/cheddar-lang/cheddar-libs/trunk/avocad/config.ini...
seems to have froze
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ do ./dist/bin/cpm install avocad
@QPaysTaxes Oh I suppose..... :P
Conor O'Brien@ConorPC MINGW64 ~/documents/programming/Cheesecloth (master)
$ ./dist/bin/cpm install avocad
bash: ./dist/bin/cpm: No such file or directory
00:55
@Downgoat cpm works for eminem me
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ do ./node_modules/.bin/grunt install --alias --memeify maybe
@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ :D :D :D :D
Conor O'Brien@ConorPC MINGW64 ~/documents/programming/Cheesecloth (master)
$ ./node_modules/.bin/grunt install --alias --memeify
bash: ./node_modules/.bin/grunt: No such file or directory
@Downgoat it's borked
Do ls
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ do npm install
@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ uh oh. what error happened?
00:56
or it takes 15 minutes.
maybe we should take this into a cheddar room
@Downgoat no error, but frozen. stuck at same as here.
TO THE SLACK
@Downgoat did you fix the circular imports?
@quartata nah, I'm procrastinating work on Cheddar by doing side-projects like Cheesecloth which I shouldn't be doing
why
still can't see why you can't roll your own requireOnce @Downgoat
