11:00 PM
@El'endiaStarman That's so... weird.

@El'endiaStarman Except when using exceptiosn?

@flawr lol. This is probably what code looks like then.

@flawr I didn't really ever use exceptions until last year either. :P

# this is the end
raise IDontCareException('Ha!.')
:P

@Zizouz212 I mean, obviously, you'd do more inside the if conditional, but that's how I tend to do it. Or ensure that turn is in k_data.

11:01 PM
So what was wrong with get(key, default)?

Depends on what you want to do if the key isn't there

I wouldn't say that there's necessarily anything wrong with it, it's just more like - as Alex said - if your code is supposed to break when the key is missing...

@AlexA. I hate it when my key is not there.

a += [element] or a.append(element)?

Put your keys on a lanyard. That way you won't lose them.

11:03 PM
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ Those are lists

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ Either will work.

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ Personal stylistic preference: the latter.

I'm not sure which is more Pythonic.

Please use methods.

@Zizouz212 Different thing now

11:04 PM
I'm so confused

@El'endiaStarman What do you use?

I'd agree with AlexA though.

@AlexA. thanks :D

The latter

Alright cool

11:04 PM
Use a += [element]. It's golfier!

I'm writing a KotH controller.

@feersum ಠ_ಠ

Karen on the House

We just learned about a temple in history class called Angkor Wat
wat

11:09 PM
@Doorknob I'd always build the Angkor Wat when playing as the Indian civilization in Civ4 :P
it made all my priests more productive :P

@Doorknob ANGKOR FOR WAT!

Yay! My first accepted answer! Too bad is on puzzling and not here.

Puzzling is garbage.
(sorry @Doorknob)

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ a+=e,

11:11 PM
@AlexA. As a Puzzling moderator, I completely agree :P

(All seriousness though, latter in actual code)

@Doorknob Why do you moderate garbage? Were you conscripted against your will?

@feersum errr... long story

We code golfers should organize a raid on Puzzling.
Solve all the challenges with brute force programs.
And only post the code as explanation.

11:17 PM
I have been summoned here by the great @CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ. What is thy bidding, my master?

@Doorknob That response just makes me want to hear the long story.

Quick! Someone disguise a code golf challenge to fit the puzzling specs and everyone get prepared to answer in our normal format!

@ETHproductions Your task is simple: defend JavaScript from the heathens who endeavour to tear it to shreds.

@AlexA. Same.

@GamrCorps PE questions are on-topic there...

11:20 PM
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ They are?! ಠ_ಠ

Yeah, I asked a meta question on P.SE, but I can't find it now
'Twas before I found this site, of course.

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ no you didn't

@Doorknob I know I did.

Conor sockpuppeteer confirmed

XD
> but I can't find it now

11:22 PM
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ I'm good at JS, but not so good at debates...

@ETHproductions Oh. Okay.
@Cyoce, come!

I'm not disapproving of PE questions being on-topic so much as people are allowing PE questions to be posted.

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ you literally have no questions on meta.puzzling

@Doorknob I know! It's weird.
Where else would I have asked it?

@Zizouz212 Down in NYC, you mean? Up here 100 miles north, the snow has already completely melted... three times :P
Normally we'd have 12-18 inches on the ground this time of year, but nooooo, Mother Nature has decided to torture us with snow on the ground for only 5 days at a time

11:24 PM
@El'endiaStarman Isn't it against the Project Euler content licensing to reproduce the questions elsewhere? (I can't recall offhand.)

It's definitely discouraged. Basically, "if you can't solve it, you can't solve it!"

> "A VACUUM IS FORMING KILL IT KILL IT" —Nature
(from today's what if. :D)

I wrote the controller! :D

Also:
> 34 feet [10 meters] [2 giraffes]

@El'endiaStarman Oh, yeah. Hm.

11:27 PM
@El'endiaStarman Sorry, I meant PE-esque questions.

BEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNSSSSSSSSS
9

11:47 PM
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ I have been summoned?

@Cyoce No
